anouk | Friday, October 17, 2008 - 10:37 am Hello, It would be nice if you, as the player, could set the tax for your population manually, and if the tax is lower then there would be more people that immigrate to your country (of course only if your other indexes are good). I think more births/immigrations would be a good idea anyway since now it just takes too long on its own... Greetings, Anouk, |
Andreja Gligorijevic (Little Upsilon) | Saturday, October 18, 2008 - 12:26 am From what I understand, immigration/emmigration is going to be added / improved at some point. I doubt that taxation of population will be though. |
Angus88 (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, October 19, 2008 - 02:30 am If people are employed they pay income tax (produce government revenue) not to mention increased consumption which increased GDP (in real life adleast), if they are unemployed they receive government support in civilized countries adleast. Its in any countries interest real life or sim to achieve the highest employment figures possible. Adjustable income tax would be a nice feature, but would need consequences and benefits for having high and low income tax. Immigration tax would be unrealistic because adleast theoretically it would discourage immigration, disadvantaged countries (high unemployment and possibly low public services) are more likely to emigrate to developed countries (high employment and high public services), if your receiving lots of immigrants then you would not be in the position to discourage it (in sim terms adleast). |
ira0348 (Kebir Blue) | Sunday, October 19, 2008 - 11:49 pm Ah, but you could have illegal immigration and a black market (no income tax, no VAT...del boy) |
Angus88 (Little Upsilon) | Tuesday, October 21, 2008 - 08:44 am Illegal immigration? We don't get that problem in Australia, you need official records and documents to get just about any job, even if you do manage to get a job you end up paying +50% tax. |
