VĂ¡li (Fearless Blue) | Monday, October 13, 2008 - 03:13 pm Before new players pick a new country to take over I suggest a page where exsisting players can advertise their willingness to help new players. I think this would help get more members as a large part of this game is interacting with other players, by giving them a 'friend' to start out with and guide them in the early stages would help keep them playing the game. |

Treasurer (White Giant) | Sunday, October 26, 2008 - 07:57 am That falls into the newb-vs-n00b ring there. I would hate to mentor someone who turns out to be a n00b. I would feel guilty. I would much rather see how they interact with others before getting too involved with their successes or failures. I've always been willing to help newbs. As long as they are teachable/coachable. I try to pop into chat every once in a while, but it's still pretty dead in there, and the constant noise from people just popping in and out drives me nuts, so I avoid it kind of. I prefer the forum route to help people and one on ones via messenger. But I'm not against any idea that keeps newbs here longer than the trial period. |
