it can transport troops and or millitary units to extend range or your normal forces i would like to see what the people think and numbers to make it realistic and usefull either this or mid air refueling planes to extend the range of air power (some nations have them in real life) any ideas to make them "better"

i think a troop transport ship is a good idea, however it should have a very limited defense which would force you to escort them with your other naval ships. The mid-air refueling I'm somewhat against because it would give your air power almost limitless power.

the idea was to have them as part of a fleet i have had some messages suggesting that they can land on beaches etc. but i dont realy see that one atm. i was on the either or but both of these i would be willing to vote for if somone else had put it up for exclusive voting

No, it is not a good idea.

Good ideas take the whole in consideration. And when you take that same whole in consideration, you'll see the multiplicity of possibilities a warring nation has to deal with, begin to reach our human and technical limits. To a player, this can be balanced by creating ways to disable or shorten those possibilities. "Parachuting" ideas will not solve it. It will only lead to more confusion.

This is valid to everyone who offers suggestions and even more to those related with the war engine:
Gain experience. Have practice. Know the environment you are changing.

In your case, you should war several times, in several conditions with several different players.

You must also make sure your proposal is in line with the ideals of the game. To what changes and functions are guided towards. Those, for now, are being refined by me and I can tell you, this suggestion does not pass. It doesn't because, and I repeat again, it adds greater complexity to an already extremely complex realm.

What we may see in the future is actually the opposite: the simplification of the war engine. It is far too complex. Its consuming too much processing time. Its complexity makes it particularly susceptible to bugs. These issues need to be addressed first.

thanx john for an honest opinion that is why i posted it in here to see what we as players think to see if it is worth putting it up for a purposal i just liked the idea bc air only has a range. and sea doesnt with the mid air refueling it could extend air power wich this idea is realy complex

so i put a sea transport ship in instead in order to move troops around without the range limit, but more of a time delay. i dont see this transport ship being complex. we deside limits of how many tanks, artilery, bombers, etc. will fit in one ship and off it goes with the rest of the fleet would have to return to a freindly (meaning empire or fed mates country) to reload them/unload them have a slider on it to choose what goes on each ship. can simplify it for multiple ships and say put this many devided among all of the ships, a "bigger" slider.

Surely a sea transport system could operate the same way as the air transport system. A dock is created e.g the mulberry harbours of ww2 as an example in place or depots. and troops transported via transport ships rather than transport aircraft.
Helicopters are used these days to carry troops from ship to shore, so land locked countries could also be invaded from the sea.
Range would be unlimited, transport volume increased but transport speed reduced.
I am no programmer but I would assume this would involve only the copying and tweaking of exsisting codes.
No doubt it would increase processing time, but it would add realism and increase game playability. After all there are not that many players in this game and if your enemy happens to be over 3000kms away its a fleet bombardment game.
Maybe processing time could be reduced by reducing the number of weapons in the game. Having 10s if not 100s of thousands of weapons is a little over the top.
As I said before I know nothing about programming so forgive me if I am totally wrong, but I think sea transport is a realism that needs to be looked at.

The only corporations needed would be sea transport units. Docks like depots would buil themselves. You wouldnt even have to create a marine unit...although this would be nice. I like the idea of marines storming a sim beach ;-)

Instead of adding in-flight refueling planes add drop tanks. The planes would get there but with less ammunition. The base value for range could be decreased at the same time drop tanks or refueling planes are added.

We already have supply ships, seals units and helicopter carriers. Why add a new unit?
