Kahnite (Golden Rainbow) | Friday, December 26, 2008 - 04:34 pm Hi Folks, This is getting to the point of being utterly ridiculous. The last 5 at least votes we have had put to us from the Security Council have been to award grants of 5 Tril. to players that are already: 1. Richer than most of the players in the game. 2. Are already well within the top 300 players. This smacks of corruption so bad I can't even think of where to begin. Are all these people from Chicago? We, as the body of the Security Council, should have the right to impeach members that attempt to pull off these crimes against the membership. Sincerely, Kahnite |
Alexander Platypus (Little Upsilon) | Friday, December 26, 2008 - 09:49 pm unless you can prove somehow that the receipients of the development aid are best buddies of the security council, i dont get your point.... i think there is a thread set up where applicants can make their case, and there are publicly listed criteria by which aid gets doled out.... |
quaxocal (Golden Rainbow) | Friday, December 26, 2008 - 09:55 pm Kahnite, do you even understand how EASY it is to put a country into the top 300 as a new player??? And from what I've seen, none of these players who get voted on for the aid are anywhere NEAR rich. People like YOU are the reason why NO ONE is getting aid period. Because you are voting EVERYONE down. I approve any aid grants which the SC approves, as none have been for someone who's a "veteran". |
Keith Allaire (Little Upsilon) | Saturday, December 27, 2008 - 02:06 am Agreed with quaxocal. If a newbie actually gets a feel for the game early, and or diligently follows the teach messages about raising the welfare index (while saving the military for last), the newbie WILL skyrocket to the top 2-300 in the ranks. Especially true for newbies who seek out help from experienced players. And the SC usually wants to aid players who have shown that they can use the money wisely...in other words, to give it to people who are rising in the ranks. |
Aleksander (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, December 28, 2008 - 07:06 am Ranking is easy. I have only been playing 3 months and in January I am going to make a run for top spot on LU. All that means is that I have figured out the game mechanics. Some of the best vets on LU are ranked below me. I am also on the SC for LU - lol. I look to give money to people like me who figured the game out some and know how to use the money. $5T is not going to do a thing for you militarily, but it will definitely let you boost your indexes to make your country even more appealing to CEOs, so you will be even more profitable. These are the people that I want to encourage, because success will make them want to stay in the game. |
quaxocal (Golden Rainbow) | Sunday, December 28, 2008 - 09:02 pm I achieved the #1 rank on GR in 7 real life weeks (about 12 game years). Its not too difficult to rise to the top if you try for it and know what you are doing. I believe I was in the top 10 before I had even played a real life month. Development aid should be given to up and coming players, those who will use it wisely and economically. As of now, it is sitting USELESSLY. Let's put it to use. If we gave 5T out per person, to every up and coming player, we STILL would have funds left. Q |
