Wednesday, July 2, 2008 - 02:28 pm 1. how long would it take me to kill a computer controlled player with 1 large sized attacking army that totally over powers them (it won't though lol)? I read 1 game day but i think that is outdated. I'll also send in a few seperate jeeps to take land (yes i have read topics on this lol). :D I just want to take a second country so i know exactly how it works hehe. 2. How many months worth of spending can i accrue in my budget before it doesn't let me spend it? 3. what are the adverse effects of writing 1 trillion in all the spending boxes? would money disapear or be wasted by an automated proccess? 4. Please help me save my corporations!! I had to close some because i stuffed up by having automated hiring which i removed but i didn't realise it didn't revert back to 100% hiring automatically. Btw i'll start building some more corporations asap, i had to close a few because they had no chance of recovery. 5. anybody want a semi-active person (i can only log in once for a few min in the morning then it's about 12 hrs later before i can log in again) in their federation and/or common market. I plan on having a subscription when my trail period expires (only used a few days so far). 6. Is my main country always in secured mode against players if i take on a computer player? 7. Does having nukes actaully deter players from attacking you or is it a waste of money really? Thanks for your help.

Wednesday, July 2, 2008 - 04:12 pm 1) A computer controlled country (aka C3) can be taken over rather quickly. Since you're new and you want to play around with it a little (which is a good thing) it will probably take a few game days (or longer). That assumes you have all the weapons you need and have a general idea of what to do. 2 & 3) The budget doesn't matter...at all. 4) 100% hiring should be your goal, don't build more until you reach it. 5) I'm not on WG, but it's good to see a new player that isn't a moron. 6) Yes 7) Ummm...I guess it could be a deterrent to some newer players. However, nukes are expensive, so I would not worry about them until you have a solid economy. Good luck, Kevin

Thursday, July 3, 2008 - 01:27 pm thanks. Does war with a C3 start right away or do u have to wait 24 hrs like against players? Also if budgets don't matter why do i get this message? "Sorry, your spending limit been reached for this month. The remaining credit for this month is 104.69B SC$. You cannot buy more than 367 aircrafts. Reduce the size of your order or wait until next month." and this thing on my buy military units page "Spending Space for this Month"

Thursday, July 3, 2008 - 02:58 pm That message is not from the budget. It is from your daily spending limit. No more than $750B SC for weapons without a booster. There is a separate limit for trade goods. Adam

Thursday, July 3, 2008 - 04:54 pm k thanks. How do I use my long range radar planes? I've seen it before but i can't for the life of me find where it was. what weapons do my fighter planes use? is it Offensive Air To Air Missiles?

Thursday, July 3, 2008 - 05:03 pm Yes, Fighter Planes use Offensive Air To Air Missiles. I used to have the method of using LRRP up on my help site, but I don't anymore for a good reason. Perhaps someone else would be willing to share with you.

Thursday, July 3, 2008 - 07:51 pm War with a C3 begins immediately.

Sunday, July 6, 2008 - 06:10 am Ok nice thanks. I'm currently asking a neighbour to let my army through his country so i can reach a C3 with ground forces. If he sets it up so i can move through his country will i get a message telling me he has? I've read that common markets are useless, is that accurate? doesn't somebody have to win out from them lol? Why do some corporations have salaries of 1000% or even 1200%? How does this help your corporation? Does it improve quality or increase the number of units produced or something? I got a few population increases of 500k and 100bil here and there, i think it cheapens my efforts i've been puting in my country because it is a pretty big boost. Do you always get these bonuses? If you own more countries do you get them for every country? Thanks, fredson.

Sunday, July 6, 2008 - 06:20 am 1. Not sure, never experienced it. 2. Yes. Common markets are useless for economy. Their ONLY use is to ensure a steady supply of goods frequently in shortage (especially military goods), but you'll pay through the roof for those goods, because they'll be high quality goods and you pay extra for the quality that has no benefit to you whatsoever. 3. Two reasons: Production will increase (though imo not to a point where it is worth it to have such high salaries), and as insurance against worker shortages. The highest-salary corps are the LAST to feel the effects of any worker shortages in the country they are in. 4. You get the bonuses for a set period of time, a month I believe. They are "noob bonuses"

Sunday, July 6, 2008 - 07:03 am so what would be a reasonable salary level if i'm confident i can keep my corporations fully employed? Currently i'm aiming at 300%, but i'm thinking of lowering it to 200%. i now know how to use long range radar planes but still want an answer on if u get a message when u've been given military access to another playeres country. Thanks, fredson

Sunday, July 6, 2008 - 07:12 am I use 600 to 700 salaries. I'd consider 300 too low. 400 would be good for beginners. And I do not know the answer to your question about military access to other countries, because I've never requested such access ingame. Perhaps someone from a fed where such is commonplace will be along to answer that one.

Sunday, July 6, 2008 - 09:21 am Ok thanks i'll update my corporate salaries to at least 400 once i get my government salaries in line with my corporate ones. I tried to declare war on a country that "was recently abandoned by its president" and the game tells me to wait 2 months. I thought that would have been a helpful estimation on when i could attack but then i tried doing it on other countries (without a pres) and they all told me to do exactly the same thing. Basically what i'm asking is, is it likely the country will come out in 2 months or could it come out at any time? If it is a real estimation will it come out on the first of the month or will it give me an even better estimation when it's within a month of coming out? thanks, fredson

Sunday, July 6, 2008 - 12:02 pm It should be a real estimate. Countries that have been abandoned by a President go into a sort of maintenance mode for a while. They often have ended up with huge debts or other economic problems either during the President's reign or since his/her last login if the account has been abandoned. Rather than have players make the mistake of conquering these third-world countries, the system tries to correct some of the problems before offering the country as available again. On your country's homepage, click on neighborhood map just above your country map. Zoom out twice and you'll be presented with a colour-coded map indicating which countries are free and which have been abandoned and will become free in a day or two (bright green).

Sunday, July 6, 2008 - 02:28 pm I don't think it's a real estimate because it has said 2 months for almost a month now lol. I learnt how to view that map within the first few seconds of playing to select my country lol. It would have been a good choice if loads of other players didn't join right after me in the countries around me.

Sunday, July 6, 2008 - 03:28 pm Yeah, it's a bit tough to expand if you're surrounded by other new players. It is, I think, possible to conquer a country purely using your Air Force by bombing targets enough to get the country's War Index down to zero. That gives you a range of 3000 which should widen your options a bit.

Sunday, July 6, 2008 - 03:37 pm yep slowly building an air force now. This max spending limit is making me go crazzy!!

Sunday, July 6, 2008 - 04:07 pm Might be worth spending a gold coin on the military spending booster then. Spending limits have driven me mad in the past, too, but I kept forgetting that there was a way around it!

Sunday, July 6, 2008 - 04:17 pm spending a coin worth 580bil just to let me spend 500bil doesn't seem worth it lol.

Sunday, July 6, 2008 - 04:46 pm Sorry for being a little bit pedantic, but the boost increases your military spending space by 600B rather than to 600B which means you can get a maximum spending space of about 1.35T for one month if you have accumulated your military spending space over a number of months. Full members also get a 50% increase on the standard monthly military spending spaces in comparison to trial members (think that might be included in the 1.35T above). The spending limits have recently been increased (see Jozi Chat Log, here and scroll to timestamp circa [16.26], also source for 1.35T above). It also looks like the booster might be increased in the near future (though I'm reading between the lines here - don't quote me on that). That said, I see your point about spending money to be allowed to spend more money. Just posting more details than you asked about for the benefit of anyone else reading. Yet again, I waffle on too much. Mmm, now I want waffles.

Sunday, July 6, 2008 - 05:15 pm Alternatively, you could just wait out the other noobs. Half of them are probably going to abandon their countries when their trial period expires. At this point, some of the countries next to you will go green and eventually become free again. This will take some patience, especially as the estimates the game gives you "please wait X months" are wildly wrong.

Sunday, July 6, 2008 - 05:49 pm it's 500bil for me because i havn't paid up yet. :P Thanks for the info. And i'm just not that patient, i can handle a few days of waiting but a few weeks just isn't happening lol.

Monday, July 7, 2008 - 08:12 am i'm sorry fredson patience is a key factor to this game their are allot of things you can do that are quick, but building a decent empire, from scratch takes along time, its one of the things i like about this game

Tuesday, July 8, 2008 - 03:01 pm Lucky i already consider my empire decent lol. It's moving through the ranks really fast though. I've took over my second country. I want to level up in the game now. Would i be correct in assuming all your countries have the same level? Is the average just the average of my two countries? The main expensive thing for me is the defensive index...now i have two countries isn't it just going to be twice as hard to build it lol? Does that score get increased by garrisoned units as well as deployed?

Tuesday, July 8, 2008 - 08:04 pm
Yes
Yes
Yes...in the sense that you will need twice as much, for twice the number of countries.
Yes, units you deploy in garrisons still count towards your indexes.

Sunday, July 13, 2008 - 10:43 am About the salary question. /\ means increase, =/= means not equal. When I use the term CEO controlled corporation this means "private corporation" and "Enterprise controlled public corporation", country controlled corporation means "national corporation", "state corporation", and "country controlled public corporation" Each % of salary increase is fairly proportional to production increase (meaning salary /\ = production /\) up until you reach 1000% salaries. After that the increase in salaries becomes less proportional to production increase (meaning salary > 1000% /\ =/= production /\) This is generally where CEO controlled corporations should stop (although I pay 1200 as a CEO as an added benefit for 0% taxes for the country) because each benefit in production comes at an extra cost and does not pay off if it is not proportional to salary increase because they pay for their goods. But for country run corporations you can afford to pay much higher salaries then 1000 (haven't worked it out). This is because country controlled corporations (omg another C3) don't pay a production tax to the country, meaning the increase in production verses salary increase doesn't need to be as proportional to still give a profitable benefit. Also each dollar paid as a worker salary in the country is collected adleast 50% as income tax for the country, meaning what you pay in country controlled corporations as wages only cost half total (you might pay a high level executive 1M but the country will collect 500000 in taxes off him). Summary: CEO controlled corporations salary /\ needs to = production /\ because of a production tax they pay to countries. Country controlled corporations salary /\ need not completely = production /\ because there is no production tax which means lower production /\ can still increase profitability, and adleast 50% of salaries returns to the country.

Saturday, July 19, 2008 - 12:59 am How do you put a country up for sale. Ive seen a country up for sale once but how do you do it?

Saturday, July 19, 2008 - 10:00 am you put a country up for sale from here. https://www.simcountry.com/cgi-bin/cgip?rcmnewemo Thanks for the explanation Angus, definatly sounds worth increasing my salaries when i'm not building so many new corporations. I've been getting lots of players to build new corporations in my country but there seems to be a limit to the number i can accept at once. I've currently got 3 requests accepted and one pending. That is after accepting about 5 requests (before they had chance to build up). So does that mean the latest 3 requests canceled the other ones i accepted earlier or is the display wrong or am i just mistaken? I'm 99% sure the corporations didn't get built. thanks, fredson.
