My corporations keep stealing $25B they don't need whenever they hit $30B in cash. $30B is PLENTY, why are they obsessed with going over 50?

I've searched every part of the automatic systems screens and can't find anything to turn off for this.

Will Walker,

Corporations are programmed to keep their cash reserves between $30B-$90B. If the cash levels are below $30B they get an automatic cash transfer, if they have above $90B they transfer cash back to you.

$30B may seem like a lot, but since corporations order 14 months of supplies at a time, by default. The $30B minimum prevents the Corporation accidentally going into debt, and getting closed, when they buy a lot of supplies all at once.

If your corporations are getting cash transfers consistently, it's a sign that you are either taking too much from them, so you should lower your profit transfer and/or tax rates. Or that they are losing money, and as such, they need the cash injections to stay afloat.

It would be nice if we could set the parameters for automatic transfers. I like having all my corps at 60B, no more no less.

I very much agree on this, I would also love to have an option to set what cash level to keep.

I will look into adding a setting parameter for that.

30B seems a lot.
we introduced this a very long time ago because we had corporations closing due to cash problems and had many complaints.

leaving the default at 30B and allowing you to change it, is OK with me.

Andy,

If you are going to let us set our own cash transfer levels. Could you please let us adjust the maximum, as well as the minimum cash level?

Currently the maximum is $90B, that seems like a lot, but for a Corporation like Asset Maintenance. Even buying a single Space Shuttle for it's inputs can cost $10B, if you buy several at once, as well as other supplies, $90B can start looking a little low.

Additionally, being able to set a wider range, would make it easier for players to tell if their Corporations are losing money long term. Currently, minimum is $30B which can boost to $50B after a transfer. Maximum is $90B which drops to $80B after a transfer.

This means that cash levels for Corps that are losing vs making money, might only vary from $50B-$80B in the cash level displayed when a player checks. Since that's only about 30 game months worth of profit or loss, it makes it very hard to tell if it was just a recent downturn, or if the Corp is losing money consistently.

Since charts only go back 18 game months, and cash can drop suddenly if buy orders are filled, it's extremely difficult to figure out which Corporations are making losses long term, vs which ones just had a short term price drop, but are actually very successful.

Thanks for the suggestions.

If we allow players to set the min and max cash levels, the range should be wide enough to allow for a meaningful choice.

Hi Andy,

I think we need to highlight another problem which is caused by automatic cash transfers. Currently corporations are not being closed if they doing very bad as all the losses are covered by countries, C3 only close corporations according situation in market and not profitability. Currently only public corporations are closed because of debt as there is no way to give them cash.

This situation is very bad as both people and C3 are keeping corporations which in fact should be closed because of debt. That prevents markets from balancing.

I suggest not only to add limits of cash transfers but also add option to chose if corporations should be protected from debt at all. All C3 should not protect their corporations from debt and let them to be closed. This is very important piece of the market dynamics which is gone now.
