Vladian Enache | Wednesday, October 30, 2019 - 10:26 pm Do land based division respond to attacks on towns/corps automatically like defence air wings do ? If not what's the point of the "defensive" division? |
John Galt | Saturday, November 2, 2019 - 06:09 pm Only mobile divisions auto respond. The only thing regular land Defense divisions do is block enemy units from moving past. Another use is to drive them into enemy territory for painting. It will force the enemy to attack them to stop them and Defense weapons are stronger than their offensive counterparts so they can do some damage that way. My opinion though is that they are essentially useless. |
Vladian Enache | Saturday, November 2, 2019 - 07:45 pm thanks pretty dissapointed :D |
Andy | Saturday, November 9, 2019 - 02:19 pm We have a discussion here about it this week. there is a distance related feature that can make them participate. |
Daniel Iceling | Monday, November 11, 2019 - 01:01 am Andy, Does that mean that John Galt is incorrect? Can Defense Divisions can respond to attacks on anything other than themselves? Or are they purely a way to prevent territory painting? Signed President of DanNation on LU |
Andy | Wednesday, November 13, 2019 - 04:53 pm When an attack takes place on a target, the defending weapons are "collected" to execute the defense. These include a possible garrison at the target, in case of a military unit, its defensive weapons. A defensive air unit is called to participate (the strongest one within range), mobile military units that are within range (20 miles) will also participate. fed members could participate too. a federation air wing will participate, and if available, also a mobile unit within range. Defensive nukes will participate if they are within range (40 miles) This is obviously an advantage of mobile units that are participating in the defense. |
John Galt | Thursday, November 14, 2019 - 01:54 am Looks like I was correct |
Vladian Enache | Thursday, November 14, 2019 - 09:11 am 20 miles isnt like 2 pixels on the map ? a very small distance ? |
Andy | Tuesday, November 19, 2019 - 11:21 am A country is probably 200 miles from east to west. maybe a little more or less. 20 miles is more than 2 pixels, whatever scale you use. |
