Mr Burns | Tuesday, May 27, 2014 - 10:00 pm After reading through the documentation regarding professional soldiers I still have quite a few questions. On the defense page I can see that my professional soldiers are being utilized even when they are not part of a mobile unit, but how can I tell how many, if any, professional soldier are being utilized by any specific NON mobile unit? Also is there a way to prevent professional soldiers from joining these regular units as I would hate to loose professional soldiers while raiding C3s. |
craigwilliamson79 | Wednesday, May 28, 2014 - 10:04 am I don't believe that professional soldiers ever serve in regular forces. You buy them, transfer them to your country and then build units. So, they should remain as a separate workforce waiting to resupply existing units (if they die in attacks) or to form new units when you order them. |
Andy | Thursday, May 29, 2014 - 12:45 pm The professional soldiers and officers do serve in regular units. The idea is that when you have them, they free regular soldiers and officers from the army to join the work force allowing you to have more corporations. In this way, building the amy does not take away people from the economy. Before, a large army would rob the economy of many workers and medium level managers and damage the economy. The down side is indeed, that they will die in wars. The exact numbers are available under the Army menu option --> general data. I agree that making it optional may be helpful. I will check if this can be done. |
drys0013 | Sunday, June 1, 2014 - 03:22 pm I confirm that andy, they do die in war and serve in reg army. Andy we kinda can stop them from being used in reg units. @burns, transfer what you don't need to account or other slave/main that is not going to go to war. this way, you only have to add what is lost during war from the mobile units, use the screen andy said: he exact numbers are available under the Army menu option --> general data. Use data from there to give you the number to move them and remember to check after war for a couple Gmos to make sure you don't lose your mobile units, a pain to do since so many steps, but it does what you asking for. Minimize the loss of Professionals, when out of war you can always move them right back or move mobile units back to country. @ANDY: it would be nice option to allow them to be used as workers as what they would be if not in the army as a choice and listed as such in the workforce also, kinda like what the army does with them... but still be able to use them as professional soldiers when we want to. Or have a reserve limit to set on what to keep as reserve out of units and be nice to have them still being used in workforce. |
Andy | Monday, June 2, 2014 - 09:40 am Your solution is a little complex for most. I do think that their use in regular units should be an option. but they will remain full time soldiers and officers. I don't see them entering the economy as workers. this is too complex and will raise many new issues. You need them if you are using mobile units. You can also use them if you want to reduce the number of workers being dreafted to the army. but this is all they do. |
