Crafty | Tuesday, December 18, 2012 - 07:30 pm How to defeat those annoying immediate orders that dont get filled. Set up a direct trade for the product in question from another of your countries or your enterprise and 99 out of 100 times when you go back to the country with the immediate order to accept the direct trade, you will find that the game has magically filled the order. It doesn't want to lose that high priced immediate sale you know. |
maclean | Wednesday, December 19, 2012 - 02:53 am Ha! another example of playing the game engine, rather than the actual game. Thanx for the tip. |
Mizore | Wednesday, December 19, 2012 - 05:58 am The game engine is the actual game. This is how you should be playing all the time. |
maclean | Wednesday, December 19, 2012 - 09:00 am Let me re-state my previous post: Another example of finding bugs in the programming, and having to play the bug rather than the normal, logical game. As an example, let's say that by ordering 10M FMUs at once, the game suddenly gives you 100M gold on each of your worlds. This would be classed as a bug, since there is no logical reason whatsoever to think that there should be a correlation between these 2 products, in different countries on different worlds. However, using this loophole or bug is still a cool way to get mass quantities of gold, even tho it has no logical reason to do so as far as normal simulated cause and effect in the economic simulation. Therefore, I salute the Crafty One for noting the aberration and letting us know. It is not something that would easily be discovered in normal play, since it bears little resemblence to a real-world economic model, as this game is supposed to simulate. |
Mizore | Sunday, December 23, 2012 - 09:50 pm Can't seem to abuse this. |
Rick | Sunday, December 23, 2012 - 10:27 pm Find your IPOd stock. When you are IPOing your state corp over to your CEO and... From your CEO you can not find the stock listed, which happens once in a while... Reverse the order of the stock listings from High to Low to Low to High. You then find the listing. Works for me 100% of the time. |
Crafty | Monday, December 24, 2012 - 02:48 pm Nice. More of this please, but dont give away the good workarounds that the GM would like to prevent. |
Andy | Tuesday, December 25, 2012 - 02:13 pm I have yet to see that you get gold when you order FMUs. I don't think it happens in this game but if it does, please give me the details, name of country, corporation etc. we can see each and every transaction in our transaction logs and have never had any such mix up before. also, we love bugs you can show us as it makes it very easy to fix them. As to magically filled orders: Immediate trading is triggered in many ways. It behaves slightly differently during normal trading or at a time when trading for the month is finished. It also wakes up when there is little action to clean out the waiting orders. A new order can trigger processing of the entire queue. Most times, if any materials are available it will be triggered when you place the immediate order. During month processing, close to one thousand corporations are processed every minute. It means that many products that are produced by these corporations become available and placed on the market. Some immediate orders that could not be delivered, suddenly can be delivered but it depends on the trading process at that time. It is too complex to predict the exact timing. |
Crafty | Tuesday, December 25, 2012 - 09:25 pm You haven't seen GC arrive instead of FMU Andy? Happens all the time in Macleans countries on KB. You should check new hibernia on KB. (haha! I'll get you back for being No1 on KB Mac!) |
maclean | Wednesday, December 26, 2012 - 07:25 am Ha! The example I gave is purely hypothetical, as an example , as I said. It has not, to my knowledge ever happened, and any relation between my FMU holdings and my gold holdings is purely coincidental. |
Crafty | Friday, December 28, 2012 - 05:46 pm Pffft. Thats what they all say. |
