richard shelton (Kebir Blue) | Saturday, March 13, 2010 - 02:39 am As President of the Grand State of Centron, KB, I've been using a "continental system" for my corporations, until I can afford to lower taxes and entice CEOs into my countries. Trading between corporations in both Centron and Noueba has been fairly routine. However, I'm running into problems when trying to fulfill Noueba's (my conquest) monthly needs from corporations in the Grand State of Centron. All I get is a message forwarded that I should check Noueba's contract proposals - but I can't seem to locate them in either country. Whether on the corporate contracts page, or on the world trade page. What am I missing? My deep appreciation for your time and effort. Good luck and good hunting, Richard Shelton, Centron, President. |
Luonnotar (Kebir Blue) | Saturday, March 13, 2010 - 04:58 am Don't bother with this. Cut *all* contracts and trade on the world market. Contracts are at worst harmful and at best terribly irritating. If you want CEOs to build in your country then go ahead and drop your taxes and invite them in right now. It won't be any less useful to do it now than to wait. |
CraftyCockney (Kebir Blue) | Saturday, March 13, 2010 - 03:41 pm If I read your post right, go to Noueba's home page, corporations > contracts > accept or cancel corporation contracts. I'm assuming your corps in Centron have offered contracts to corps in Noueba. If the contracts are from Centrons corps to the country Noueba itself, trade > contracts > country contracts. I would tend to agree with Luonnator about contracts myself, but some players make them work and do most of their business this way. One good person to seek advice from in this area would be Whitedarkness. |
Luonnotar (Kebir Blue) | Tuesday, March 16, 2010 - 09:55 pm Actually, I used to use contracts too. Unfortunately, if a corporation that's supplying products on contract has a month where it's not at full production (worker shortage, salary not high enough, disaster damage, etc) the contracted amount auto-adjusts downward. The result is that the contract is only partially filled, and the final quality for products supplied in this manner creeps downward. This makes it a hassle to make sure they are functioning properly. That's what I meant by terribly irritating. :/ What I do now instead (well, when I feel like it anyway :P), is set most of my corporations to auto-order supplies at 150-160 quality and then buy bulk quantities of Factory Maintenance Units and Electric Power at quality 100 with my country or enterprise, and then sell those to my corporations. They're the most expensive inputs, and are used in such small amounts as to have a negligible impact on final quality. You gotta remember to log in and sell those materials to your corps every now and then, but at least using this method you can be sure that the corporations are always producing at optimal quality. You really only have to do this about 1x per week in most cases. But, it's possible that someone else has found a way to deal with this negative aspect of contracts. So, I guess I can't rule them out 100% but at best I find them lackluster and newer players are much more likely to harm themselves with contracts. And that's my opinion on the subject. |
