Luke (Little Upsilon) | Saturday, July 4, 2009 - 11:48 pm I am new to the game and am asking for the more experienced players to log in to the forums more often, please. (The Simcountry Live chat) It is difficult to learn this game through the instructional videos and yes even the forums. I am not patient enough to wait for the forum results and the videos well they are introductory at best. Some (Kiteless, and others) have been very helpful in teaching me enough basics for me to enjoy the game. Today when visited the forum there was no one in all six forums. This is the second log in a row that this has happened. I am in the GMT +6 time so that might have consideration but the reason for this plea is one of the messages was someone asking how to start a country. It was sad that this person was not answered and I am sure will never return. I hope those that read this will consider checking the forums occasionally. Thanks |
Yankee (Fearless Blue) | Sunday, July 5, 2009 - 05:01 am People who are most likely to actually help you do not hang out in the flash chat. As far as people telling you how to do anything, there are more ideas about "how", than new players that sign in and quit after thier 30 days are up. Just because someone has different ideas doesn't mean they are either right or wrong. What is right for one isn't always going to help another. If you simply want to build a country, follow the "important things to do" link on your homepage and attempt to follow the advise. That will get you going. Only other advise I can give is listen to everyone and test, even a moron can give you insight, even if it's about what not to do, or how not to act. |
duke_nukem | Sunday, July 5, 2009 - 10:02 am I always tell players who ask "what do I do in this game?" to explore around the site, click on links, read what comes up, see and learn what does what. Too many newbs just want instant gratification. If you were given the ultimate guide to being the most successful player, well then it wouldn't be much of a game for you, would it. Btw, I'm in chat (sccafe) for way too many hours most every day, so if you approach me without spam, swearing and generally ignorant behaviour then I will always try to point you in the right direction. Have fun. CraftyCockney |
