I am very new here so apologies for my newest question.

After my registration and blah blah and looking at my membership page I am slightly confused at what I saw.

My membership page says my empire is mine until the June 25 2009, and the "extend" dropdown menu is greyed out. Does that mean that unless I donate I wont be able to carry on playing??

No,i am not joking. This game is very well worth the money. This is the most in depth browser based simulation on the web today, bar none.

I dont deny that the game is good and deep. One of the best I have ever played, hence the reason I am so suprised I cant play for free. There should be a free option for those who dont have spare cash to play a web game. Unfortunately my spare cash goes on bills and food.

Thanks for the short time I've spent here simcountry, but I'm not paying to play an online game.

IMO, such an option would be abused. This would result in considerably lower income for W3C and would jeopardise the future of the game.

Not enough income = No Simcountry.

Economic principles don't get any simpler than that.

I see your point, but, every single web game I have ever played or heard of that you have to pay for has a limited option of playing for free.

It doesn't create an imbalance as the persons who do pay will still have their benefits, whereas the people who dont pay can be restricted in a way that stops them overtaking paying players.

There isnt an issue of it being "benefits". As of right now,the only things i can do that you cant,is build strategic corps, nuke people and use the cash market to a much greater extent(with boosters being 20 percent better or something like that)

I play Evony and the people who pay to buy GC will always have 90X the capacity that i have. I know that and i try and make the game more fair for myself by raiding.

and do you really want a game full of ads, dropping cookies everywhere (down bobo!) and phishing your browser. No thanks. $12 is very cheap, don't you think?

Hehehe... (Slaps myself) I thought it was monthly.. :/

Anyone know if theres a way to freeze my account so I dont lose it. As I'm unable to pay membership before the end of this month and my membership runs out on the 25th...

Sorry if I raised any hairs.. Didn't mean to sound pedantic or put the game down.

/me looks at the new menu
This game's depth goes beyond my browser again.
I wonder what 100% width means nowadays too.

A free world... is something that I find useful and a beneficial to the game as a whole. Unfortunately, we live in the XVIII century and sociology and psychology, with all sciences in-between, haven't been formulated yet. There must be a dark numerical cloud hovering over social sciences.

Besides your account's membership ($4/month) cost, you need to pay for your countries' and enterprises' registration (30GCs/month). So, even if your membership is until December, if your country's registration expires and you run out of GCs, you won't be able to play, unless you buy more GCs.

Don't be shocked. This is method is actually... something about... rewarding skill. If you are able to manage your (in-game) resources, you'll only have to pay for the membership.

In other games, they force you to buy a membership for each world you play in.

If the period hasn't been reduced even further, your account will remain operative to one week after it the trial ends.
