Saturday, April 11, 2009 - 04:35 am Hi all, I have a country where I am attempting to allow to grow naturally, without population boosts via GCs. I figured it was something different that I know not to many other people would bother attempting to do. Unfortunately, even with what I'd consider reasonable and stable indexes, my birth rate is steadily sinking and my death rate is rising. I only have 21M population.... am guessing I'll hit negative growth in approximately 9 game years, and probably not hit 25M population. Death rate is what it is, everyone dies eventually of course. So, I think I need to raise my birth rates....does anyone have a clue how do this? What indexes are relevant? Anyone know a definitive answer to this? Thanks!

Saturday, April 11, 2009 - 11:15 am yes, you need breeders. In simcountry that means people between the age 18 and 40. Especially 21 to 35. Giving fertility drugs to people in a retirement home won't get many babies even if the drug really does increase "birth rates". Viagra won't help much either. Importing a lot of young fertile nurses from the third world might help a lot. With or without the viagra. Take over a CCC. Either drop your government salary or drop the government salaries in the new slave. You also want to increase the salaries in some high tech corps in the country with low government salaries and vis versa. You want a wide difference in pay scale and the reverse in the other country. Set the education priority in the new slave to 99% for nurses set priority for everything else to 0. Do the opposite in your main, set nurses to 0 and adjust the rest as needed for your main country and the slave. New nurse graduates are usually 21 to 24 years old. Exchange workers every time you log in. You can change professions of 50k nurses, most people can use the high level workers or you can change them to low level and re-educate them into something else. Another option is to exchange workers with new people or people with new countries. They are often desperate for professionals and eager to get rid of millions of young unemployed low level breeders. Check the population demographics and then set up trades. In most cases low level workers are younger than all other workers and professionals. Countries that recently sold a lot of population and countries with huge armies are the most common exceptions.

Sunday, April 12, 2009 - 06:41 am Well yes, all that could probably work. I guess what I am trying to do is get my existing breeders to have more kids, not necessarily get more breeders. If my breeders average 2.3 kids or something thereabouts, my population should grow on its own, which is my goal. Being as Viagra isn't something I can manufacture for my population, what's the next best thing to get them busy? More/less health care? Fewer back-to-work schools? Less education? Higher Quality goods for my country/population? Thanks!

Sunday, April 12, 2009 - 02:59 pm There's no reason to have declining population in a country of 21 million. The trends won't hold in the long run, don't make any drastic changes. Also, nice job on such a tightly run country.

Monday, April 13, 2009 - 11:55 am Due to lack of resources, and a lack of will to spend $ on this game I too shall be going with the natural growth route for my empire. If I come up with anything inspired I shall let you know.

Thursday, October 18, 2012 - 12:22 am you need a higher health index to premote further growth.....im wondering if its possible to get a country to stabalize at 10-15 million people? and how....unfortunately population growth change and emigration are some of the most unrealistic aspects of this game
