Kiteless (Kebir Blue) | Friday, February 6, 2009 - 12:24 pm I recently sold all of my offensive weapons on KB to reduce monthly costs. I have no slave nations and no immediate plans to take one. However, my offensive index has been static at 11.43 for some time now. I only have 1 military base and 1 airport and the costs of circa 4B, together with the index amount seem excessive. I have recently been able to increase monthly profit, but this cost is still something I can do without. Plus, I'm sure it doesn't take 79,650 personnel to man 1 airport and 1 base. Does anyone know if this is a bug or an intentional occurence? Or some other reason, perhaps? And while I'm here - does anybody know if there is a chart available for index points per offensive weapon? As there is for defensive weapons. It would prove handy when I go for Level 5. Thanks Kiteless |
coolwind (Golden Rainbow) | Friday, February 6, 2009 - 02:44 pm don't bother about that just buy 60,000 MIBs on the way |
quaxocal (Golden Rainbow) | Saturday, February 7, 2009 - 02:57 am You don't need offensive index for any of the levels. Check your units, as far as the offensive index goes. Check your stocks too. |
Kiteless (Kebir Blue) | Saturday, February 7, 2009 - 03:22 am It could be ammo stocks, or lack of, that's caused the OI figure to be where it is. I definitely only have 1 airport and 1 base and have done for some time. I thought that defensive index incorporated offensive weapons, but this is obviously not the case. Cheers chaps |
Blue Serpent (Kebir Blue) | Saturday, February 7, 2009 - 03:57 am It does, 50% def, 25% off and 25% strategic. |
quaxocal (Golden Rainbow) | Saturday, February 7, 2009 - 04:11 am Ammo doesn't affect any of the indexes. |
Aleksander (Little Upsilon) | Saturday, February 7, 2009 - 06:39 am Q - I read on a thread (by Laguna) that strategic ammo does impact the index. |
Sir Michael (Little Upsilon) | Saturday, February 7, 2009 - 08:50 am Yes, Strategic ammo does affect the index. |
quaxocal (Golden Rainbow) | Saturday, February 7, 2009 - 11:32 pm Ok I will defer on that one, as I don't have experience with nuclear weapon stocks. However, Offensive and Defensive ammo has no effect on indexes. Which was Kiteless's concern (offensive). Interesting that strategic ammo has an effect though. |
Kiteless | Sunday, February 8, 2009 - 01:10 am It's my understanding that ammo stocks do affect indexes. I believe that it is a lack of offensive ammo normally used monthly by the population that is the cause of the relatively high figure of my offensive index. Plus, a look at the OI figures of a few other countries appears to support this. This matter is now being addressed with appropriate orders. Also, I wasn't aware that the defensive index requirement for level 5 could be attained by simply doubling up on defense index, but I am now. Thanks as always to those who have contributed |
quaxocal (Golden Rainbow) | Sunday, February 8, 2009 - 02:48 am I can assure you 100% that defensive and offensive ammo don't affect the indexes. Completely and totally. |
Kiteless (Kebir Blue) | Sunday, February 8, 2009 - 12:35 pm That may be the case, Q, but I'm still none the wiser as to why I have an offensive index figure of 11.43 for 1 airport and 1 base, and a subsequent monthly spend of circa 4B. |
quaxocal (Golden Rainbow) | Sunday, February 8, 2009 - 08:41 pm Check to make sure you have no offensive units. No offensive weapons in stock. There definitely is *something* causing that high of an offensive index. For comparison, this is my main: Offensive Force Index 0.68 Number of Soldiers 8,000 Number of Officers 1,600 Total size of Offensive Staff 9,600 Monthly Running Cost 24.44M SC$ I have the same 1 airport, 1 base. Has to be something somewhere which is causing that index to be higher. Q |
Kiteless (Kebir Blue) | Wednesday, February 11, 2009 - 05:33 pm I had forgotten about this thread. It's still stuck on 11.43. I have sent an email, asking for it to be looked at and checked for possible errors. Something is clearly not right and Defense Index is not right, either. |
Kiteless (Kebir Blue) | Friday, February 13, 2009 - 12:01 am I know the cause of this now, hence problem resolved It was caused by weapons in military wings - these have now been disbanded. Can someone please confirm that a Defensive Force Index of 200 and other military indexes of zero equates to a Defense Force Index of 100? I am going for level 5 purely on MIB's. I have the required number, plus a few more to speed it up. I am just waiting for the system to play catch-up with this and health. |
