Eric Peterson (Fearless Blue) | Sunday, January 11, 2009 - 07:07 am High Unemployment and Low Employment In my newly created country on FB ALL corporations, state and private, have around 23% hiring; yet I have high unemployment. I do not understand how this happens, I know its possible that if you have a shortage of 1 type of worker that it will force others out of the job but when I go to education priorities there are unemployed in all fields, which is less than needed for 100% production. So why is this happening and how do i fix it? Military Units As I start to put together my military and am building units, I notice there are different sizes of units, such as brigade, division, etc. Is it best to just build divisions because they will have the most fighting power? Why would you bother with smaller units? |
coolwind (Golden Rainbow) | Sunday, January 11, 2009 - 04:24 pm "which is less than needed for 100% production". That's your problem Eric.........it should be more. You do not have nearly enough workers to staff up your corps. You need to buy more POP or close some corps |
coolwind (Golden Rainbow) | Sunday, January 11, 2009 - 04:30 pm I reckon you need another 1.3M workers appprox so you probably need to buy 3m population with 15 Gold Coins to sort the problem, assuming that you get 48%-50% workers when you buy |
Eric Peterson (Fearless Blue) | Sunday, January 11, 2009 - 08:00 pm OK I still don't understand why I have high unemployment, if the people I have won't get jobs, how would another 1.3 mill get them? I appreciate the advice though, your probably right, just seems odd I have high unemployment and low employment at the same time, they are just sitting there being jobless while my corps are struggling to get workers. |
Treasurer (White Giant) | Monday, January 12, 2009 - 06:40 am Many reasons. You are building military which drains available LLW's and MLM's. Not good to build military in a struggling economy. Salary levels of government workers is higher than corporation salaries. When this happens, everyone wants to hold out for a government job. Too many corporations built. Either buy population on the cash market or close down some losers. A good education index will really help the training of your worker classes and the speed in which it happens. In the beginning you should shoot for a education index of 150 before tackling anything else. That means each of the 3 types of school indexes must reach 150 each. (Elementary, High School, and University) Find this on the education tab. Also once your country starts moving along you may want to convert some excess Universities into "Back to Work" schools. They train lazy housewives to join the workforce which makes for less of a burden on your social security in your country. Good Luck |

DexterK (Kebir Blue) | Thursday, February 5, 2009 - 05:46 am My wife was looking at playing this game (she is doing a Commerce Degree and likes all the numbers). I might steer her away from this thread, given her current housewife tag, and save some angst You suggest closing poor performing corps. Which is the best indicator of poor performance. PE ratio, capital value? Perhaps I'll ask my wife ;) Dex. |
