Warren Buffett (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, November 16, 2008 - 05:56 pm My corporations aren't eligible for and IPO. How do i make it so it fits all the criterias for an IPO. |
Anthony King (Little Upsilon) | Monday, November 17, 2008 - 07:33 am You must start making profits first for you'r P/E Ratio to reach under 10 then you can click on the perform public offering. It's base on the quality so check the quality too.Should be 200.The profits should be in positive not negative. Then check you'r P/E Ratio every now and then.Have you'r sales up to 40% to 60% slowly, say 5% each month untill you reach the target and lower 20% to see improvements.Buying strategy should be at 90% then raise 10% on average.Give that a go good luck. |
Warren Buffett (Little Upsilon) | Monday, November 17, 2008 - 08:45 pm Thanks ill give that a try. |
Angus88 (Little Upsilon) | Tuesday, November 18, 2008 - 06:15 am I think there is an actual value requirement now. Usually you can IPO any corporation with a good P/E regardless of anything else. It doesn't appear to be that way anymore. |
Anthony King (Little Upsilon) | Tuesday, November 18, 2008 - 07:28 am But you must reach P/E Ratio under 10 to become IPO successful. Also to you'r quality supplies for you'r corps should be 196 quality target too.It takes time to reach there along with the upgrades on the effectivity and quality. |
Lex Carter (Golden Rainbow) | Tuesday, November 18, 2008 - 03:58 pm The quality of supplies is of no importance. Two conditions must be met, Assets more than 100B and a positive erning. Lex |
Travis Goeringer (White Giant) | Tuesday, November 18, 2008 - 11:35 pm After much discussion in another thread, Lex is correct. As long as you have those 2 things, the rest doesn't matter. My p/e in most of my public corps are at best a 20. They have been more succesful than when they were a state corporation. Their values have doubled and in some cases tripled. |
Nikos (Little Upsilon) | Wednesday, November 19, 2008 - 03:35 am From the corp page click on shares, that will jump you down to the shares section of the corp page. There you will see what you need to do to be able to IPO. There are 3 conditions to fulfill. 1. The P/E ratio (Needs to be under 10) 2. Total Assets (Needs to be above $100B - try adding cash to get this up) 3. Value The value one is messing me up still. I do not know what it needs to be, but it seems to be about $60B. |
coolwind (Golden Rainbow) | Wednesday, November 19, 2008 - 06:53 pm can't see no. 1 on my corp page Nikos. Also the P/E will not stay below 10 for long. Mine are hitting 10 at 60B value. I wish the GM would confirm the parameters, or is that part of the game........to suss it out? LOL. I was depending on regular IPOs to keep the Nationals down below 20 to foil the hostile bids on States. Now I need to think twice about creating more corps or try selling some to my CEOs in the country |
Travis Goeringer (White Giant) | Wednesday, November 19, 2008 - 11:15 pm I've had the p/e higher and it still does it......30 is what works for me |
Warren Buffett (Little Upsilon) | Thursday, November 20, 2008 - 12:04 am Interesting, so whats the general consensus (s.p) ? |
Nikos (Little Upsilon) | Thursday, November 20, 2008 - 03:12 am I have had the P/E message on a couple of corps. On those occasions it has been over 75. On the corps that I have been able to IPO since the update they have all been under 10, so I guessed. We can get the data. We just need enough data points and we will even be able to build their algorithm. You can get the assets up by adding cash. |
quaxocal | Thursday, November 20, 2008 - 04:21 am P/E must be 20 or less. Assets must be $100B or more (this one is 100% correct from my experience). Though larger corporations seem to be able to be done in the low 20's for P/E for some reason. For the assets, I couldn't IPO a $99.18B corp, but could a $100.16 corp, both with similar P/E ratio (around 5ish). |
Slare (Golden Rainbow) | Monday, November 24, 2008 - 05:20 am I have been trying to IPO a number of state corporation in the last couple days: The 100B asset minimum is definitely correct in my experience, I have been adding cash to get just over that limit so I can IPO, and it works. Unfortunately if your corp has 75B in cash, you can't transfer more cash to it...so you can't just dump 90B cash on a corp to get it over the asset limit and IPO it. P/E maximum 20 in my experience, but the limit could be a bit higher maybe. I IPO'd a 45B value corporation. So if that is a factor, the floor lower than this. The "why can't I IPO" messages on the corporation page are totally worthless, and should be mostly ignored. |
Split (White Giant) | Monday, November 24, 2008 - 06:03 am P/E is over 20, i am sure i have IPO'd corps at 30. |
Slare (Golden Rainbow) | Monday, November 24, 2008 - 04:28 pm Ok here's one I tried today that isn't in line with my previous experiences. 101B in assets 106B in value P/E 15.1 Cannot IPO. No idea why not....corp page claims value is too low and P/E is too high. |
Slare (Golden Rainbow) | Monday, November 24, 2008 - 04:32 pm 102B Asset 171B Value 16.2 P/E No IPO |
Slare (Golden Rainbow) | Monday, November 24, 2008 - 04:48 pm 105B Asset 63B Value 11.8 P/E IPO successful |
Slare (Golden Rainbow) | Monday, November 24, 2008 - 04:53 pm 101B Asset 14B Value 4.3 P/E IPO Successful I am noting a pretty high Asset\Value ratio in the successful ones, and sub-1 A\V ratio in the ones I can't IPO. |
Slare (Golden Rainbow) | Monday, November 24, 2008 - 04:56 pm 104B Asset 67B Value 11.0 P/E IPO Success! Again an A/V ratio of more than 1. |
Slare (Golden Rainbow) | Monday, November 24, 2008 - 05:02 pm 101B Asset 29B Value 2.5 P/E IPO Good |
Slare (Golden Rainbow) | Monday, November 24, 2008 - 05:05 pm 102B Asset 57B Value 14.2 IPO IPO Fail. I note that this corp lost a teeny bit of money last month. Otherwise the numbers looked promising for an IPO. I'll keep an eye on this one, it'll probably post a profit next month. |
Slare (Golden Rainbow) | Monday, November 24, 2008 - 05:08 pm 105B Asset 64B Value 6.3 P/E IPO Success. 27 more corps to IPO....maybe I can collect enough data points all by myself here |
Kamihiv (Little Upsilon) | Tuesday, November 25, 2008 - 11:06 am New to the game but getting a decent feel for the economic side of it fairly quickly. Just IPO'd 3 more corps this month -- Here were the points: 101.6B Asset 4.5B Value 1.1 P/E ______________ 104B Asset 4.2B Value 1.3 P/E ______________ 103.5B Asset 4.6B Value 0.7 P/E Have previously done some higher value corps, though I have no idea the effect (haven't been playing long enough to see it) of IPO'ing at such a low value. Was more testing the IPO's with these three with low-values and barely high-enough assets. Hope the data helps someone come up with some kind of better idea, would be interesting to see what the greater minds of this community/thread can divulge from the info that I don't seem to be able to. |
coolwind (Golden Rainbow) | Tuesday, November 25, 2008 - 12:31 pm here we are: Hi, I am sorry for the late reply. I was looking through recent updates. We have found an error in IPOs. The minimum asset value was wrong and was repaired. It could have influenced the possibility to do an IPO. The error resulted in very badly financed corporation performing IPOs. You can probably evade the problem by moving money into the corporation, wait for the asset value to increase and then perform the IPO. The gamemaster |
Slare (Golden Rainbow) | Tuesday, November 25, 2008 - 08:18 pm Hmm...that implies that the asset threshold was too low and was probably raised. OR, the asset limit is now tied to market value somehow, rather than being a fixed amount. Maybe "badly financed companies" is code for "being way overvalued as compared to assets". Big market value companies would require big assets to IPO. Because its the big companies I have trouble IPOing...and with the 75B cash transfer limit, I can't artificially boost assets in big companies far enough to force the IPO any more. Interesting. |
