Another Big international competition starts while the Olympics are going on over in China.
The Little League Baseball World Series starts in my hometown August 15th and ends on the 26th.
Every year, Williamsport grows from a town of 60,000 - a rather large city of 300,000 in these two weeks. (Used to be just 1 week). Game one starts at 2pm EST on the 15th on ESPN at Volunteer Stadium. That is the first American Game. Midwest vs. Southeast. Neither team is actually determined yet.
Game two starts 4 pm EST on the 15 on ESPN at Lamade Stadium. That is the first international game. Canada vs. Latin America. The Canadian team has yet to be determined, but the Latin American team is from Maracaibo, Venezuela.
OOHH, Italy made it from Europe for the first time, so I'll be pulling for them! And no, China is not here. The team from the Far East is from Tokyo Japan. |
