The AFRICAN UNION Army Special Forces, colloquially known as the "green berets" due to their distinctive service headgear, will be a special operations force of the AFRICAN UNION Army that will be designed to deploy and execute 9 doctrinal missions
1) unconventional warfare
2) foreign internal defense
3) direct action
4) counter-insurgency
5) special reconnaissance
6) counter-terrorism
7) information operations
8) counterproliferation of weapons of mass destruction and
9) security force assistance.
AFRICAN UNION SPECIAL FORCE Military Training.
All enlisted service members will complete the basic military training, which includes time spent in a classroom and in the field, and will also cover tactical and survival skills, physical training, military life and customs, and weapons training. Also Due to the wide variety of missions, Special Forces enlisted service members will also undergo some of the most intense and demanding physical and mental training in the world. They will be trained swimmers, paratroopers, and survival experts, as well as trained in many forms of combat.
