E O | Tuesday, August 18, 2020 - 10:05 pm Hey Nathan, Not sure there is a ton of federation activity on LU at this point since there are so few players able to be attacked. If you're interested in more social aspects of the game, I'd recommend checking out Fearless Blue, where there currently are a number of players engaged in some contentious diplomacy. If you're interested in learning more, you can visit the FB forum, or you can contact me directly at "Tumen" on LU. |
nathan | Tuesday, August 18, 2020 - 11:05 pm I have always been weary of FB because I figured it would go like most online games where the sweatiest or longest playing players just steamroll everyone who cant sit at their computer 24/7. Do you have any input on this matter? I'd be all for starting up a new country over there if its not just going to be a messy un-fun time. After all, we're all here to have fun lol |
E O | Tuesday, August 18, 2020 - 11:19 pm Hey Nathan, In the past, Fearless Blue was a very lawless place. However, war, and even player v. player wars were a somewhat regular occurrence on all worlds back in the day. As such, Fearless Blue being so hostile was ok - players knew what they were signing up for. The first time I was on Fearless Blue, a large federation attacked me the first day I had no war protection, but I was there specifically to get into a fight. Nowadays, Fearless Blue is a bit quieter than it used to be. There are several large federations with "the sweatiest" players as you called it, but those players are GENERALLY not aggressive at this time (note: I only speak for myself, and I'm not one of the bigger players right now). They do more to maintain order than anything else, and I largely consider them ambassadors for the game. If you introduce yourself and befriend some of these players, it's possible that you could even receive their support if someone wrongs you. What makes Fearless Blue interesting is that there is no secured mode, and almost everyone is able to be attacked by anyone else. As such, active diplomacy is where it's at. All players who start an empire on Fearless Blue get 52 days of free war protection from other players. That gives anyone enterprising enough to get going and make friends a chance to join a federation, and get set up. If you do decide to make a start there, I would recommend trying to place most of your empire near/next to your friends and federation allies. Shared air defense from your countries (and from nearby federated countries) is probably the best way to protect your assets. |
nathan | Tuesday, August 18, 2020 - 11:59 pm Hi, So I setup a country on fearless blue. did the usual things. checked my corporations, made sure my military wasn't super bloated and setup some units. as for finding some people to group up with, is there a recommended way of going about that? I dont want to put my name out there and get immediately targeted lol. |
E O | Wednesday, August 19, 2020 - 02:16 am Welcome to Fearless Blue! I do have some recommendations. 1. A player recently posted on the Fearless Blue forum that their federation is recruiting. I'd try contacting them at the country RRwanda. I do not know them personally, but they appear competent and are looking for friends. 2. A player who was willing to help me get my feet under me this go round is named "King Woel." He is not the chair of his federation, but has some extensive business contacts and may put in a good word for you with his fed-mates if he likes you. That obviously would be up to him. He'd be a good person to contact as well. General tips for how to contact players: - Check the Top 300 rankings list, and look at some of the top 50 players or players in the hall of fame. If a player happens to be in a federation, I'd ask them about it. - Make a post on the forum asking for federations that are recruiting to recruit you. - SCOUT. Look at the regions near where you are and look for medium and large players. Don't be afraid to say hello. Players generally don't sign up for the war world to play solo (you sign up knowing there is a chance of war, right?) - and in my experience, many can be friendly and willing to work with you. Finally - my empire is not currently a "friendly" empire on Fearless Blue, but if you have questions, I can sometimes be persuaded to answer them if messaged at the nation of "Charon." |
Zentrino | Friday, August 21, 2020 - 08:36 pm I have countries on LU but it is a small empire. I spend most of my time playing on FB where I have a very large empire (over 1.5 billion population). I am also a war player on FB and a member of one of the two large "old guard" feds on FB. I am glad to see you've joined us there. You can message me at Nevrondona Prime. I am happy to help and answer questions. Citizens of Little Upsilon: The Nevrondona Empire invites you to escape from this pale and dying world and join us on Fearless Blue. The stories of old about never-ending war and bloodshed are relics of our past. Today, the Nevrondona Empire stands guard against those who violate our peace. While I can't offer you official federation protection because we don't accept new players, the NSA fed is always willing to help new players and guards against those who prey on weak. Should you find yourself attacked by a tyrant (ahem--or religious zealot--ahem), please contact me right away. The power of the Nevrodnona Military does not take kindly to those who attack citizens on FB who are unable to defend themselves. We have spent decades in near constant warfare to maintain the peace on FB and we will not be deterred. |
The_Wicked_Lady | Sunday, August 23, 2020 - 02:27 am Hi Nathan! Welcome back! We will be thrilled to have you on both LU and FB, the two best worlds in the game!!! For the most part, we promote peace, unless there is a disturbance in the force! Lately, most players who have been talking on the forums are in FB, and we have a great time there! We try to keep it entertaining! :-) Also, please join us in Sim Discord Chat. If you look under General Thread, there is a topic that will provide you the link to join us there! So when was the last time you played and who were you? Perhaps we crossed paths. All my best, Wicked |
KingWoel | Tuesday, August 25, 2020 - 03:33 am I appreciate being mentioned in your 2nd recommendation E O. Feel free to hit me up if you need some help . |
