Wednesday, August 15, 2018 - 01:31 am The most active federation and the best and largest I would say is on KB The Pnakotic Congressional Order. Never heard of LDI Who is the Pinktator?

Wednesday, August 15, 2018 - 04:57 am The pinktator is like the Buddha of SC. LDI is his temple where much merriment was had. The profits of LDI are 1. âWildâ the high priestess. 2. âSamâ the Texas Chilli maker 3. âBarneyâ the philly cheese steak eatin voice of reason 4. âJasonâ the armor drivin San diegan. 5. Slockterâ aka Leroy Jenkins 6. Dom. Cool guy around for awhile in early days. 7. Saber. Very capable war player. Found this tasty gem for further illustration. http://ldipropaganda.blogspot.com/2008/07/ldi-test-leeroy-jenkins-strat.html Didnât even know that existed. Must be too old for the inty net.

Thursday, August 23, 2018 - 12:18 pm Ok. But that still does not really answer my question. lol Who is he? Does he still play? Why is he like the Buddha? I have never heard of him till now. I have been playing since 2013 but was on KB till 2015 then started playing other worlds too.

Friday, August 24, 2018 - 01:49 am He was a real player from 2007-2008. He played around the time when the old war engine was changed to the new war engine, and he influenced the early war fighting strategies of the time. He ruled Lacerta with an iron fist and enjoyed looting and pillaging other players. LDI was involved in some massive world wars during that time with Scottie and Valde Subsidium. He is like the Buddha because at a time when everyone was obsessed with their assets, he liberated himself from the 1s and 0s. This allowed him to fight wars without fear and without mercy. He does not play Sim Country anymore. He disappeared off the face of the earth in 2008 and we have not heard from him since. There is prophecy that he will return one day. This is what we wait for, and it is why LDI still exists today. Glory to the Pinktator!

Saturday, August 25, 2018 - 05:00 pm That was before my time. I only joined in 2013 and was on KB. I doubt he will be back but you never know. What is the prophecy? You might be waiting for a while lol.

Sunday, August 26, 2018 - 12:28 am I have a different take on old Pink and LDI. Keep in mind, I'm not familiar with everything that went down and have fading memories. He called himself Pink Floyd. He wasn't a particularly friendly type. Rough around the edges. But he was a keen number cruncher. As a number cruncher myself, I was a bit peeved that he was better at it than me. In this game, if you love the numbers enough, they tell you their secrets. Pink learned many secrets. Away from the forums, the number crunchers sometimes have an interest in each others' math. That can lead to collaboration, spying, rivalry, or a combination. Pink's biggest accomplishment was that he invented the invincible navy. It was a monster: a massive battle group that would wreck anything that attacked it. I remember looking at part of its math that someone sneaked to me and being jealous. Pink developed some followers, and that became LDI. By then, the game had introduced war engine 2.0, which caused PvP to decline. Many disappointed veterans had left. With Pink's numbers, LDI had a competitive advantage. In its early years LDI was active in PvP. Some wars involved controversial game mechanics. Eventually the gamemasters crippled guerrilla war and removed the invincible navy. PvP became too dysfunctional and boring but that's another story. Perhaps Pink left because the numbers were no longer fun. LDI's apex was that it rid the game of a megalomaniacal loudmouth known as Laguna. Laguna regarded himself as the god of number crunching. He often dissed those who disagreed with him. I would think that Laguna's attitude alienated Pink. Laguna ran a fed called Valde Subsidium. LDI defeated it in some big wars. I think this was around 2009 or 2010. Laguna was emasculated and ashamed, and disappeared with his tail between his legs. But it's sad that the most interesting wars were 8+ years ago. I believe Pink's doctrine was that the numbers provide fun. When the numbers aren't fun, it's time to seek fun elsewhere.

Sunday, August 26, 2018 - 01:13 am Interesting. Thanks Madoff. So fascinating some of the history in this game. In looking back at things I would say the end of 2015 is when a lot of the remaining veterans and older players in the game that had been around along with others started to leave in droves and when the game started changing. I have noticed a difference in the game since when I started over 5 years ago. The forum is no longer quite as active and the chat is practically non existent. There is little interaction now between players. KB is a shadow of its former self -heck FB has more players now then KB. I pity newer players coming on board as they have no one to really help guide them. I try to respond sometimes to new player posts but I am certain many are not getting the assistance they need in this game. Not sure at this point what can be done to the game. I was hoping the new war world would be a hit but it seems (to my knowledge) not much is happening there -lol.

Sunday, August 26, 2018 - 11:07 pm Michael then we should strive to guide the new players in hopes of rebuilding the player base of this game. I am making it a goal of mine to check the forum every day and answer questions for new players, as I have been doing for some time now. We need to bring this game back. If we help enough new players, perhaps the prophecy of the Pinktator's return will be fulfilled. Glory to the Pinktator!

Monday, August 27, 2018 - 11:48 pm John, I agree with you that we should strive to guide the new players in hopes of rebuilding the player base. However part of the problem with this game is the unresponsiveness at times and the PR (public relations attitude) of the GM's. They need to be much more responsive and actually care. We the players are their customers after all. I would like to see the game back.
