Lord Lee (Little Upsilon) | Friday, February 17, 2012 - 01:27 am The price of Factory Maintenance Units continues to fall! On July 30th 2925 on Little Upsilon the price was 2.38M SC$ per unit with a surplus of 1391583. Because the price of Factory Maintenance Units are cheaper on other planets. Some players are flooding the market on Little Upsilon with them causing severe economic damage to players profits who have invested in building Factory Maintenance Units factories. Could we could up with an agreement so that this trend can be reversed. I suggest that players don't flood the market with Factory Maintenance Units on Little Upsilon and leave 1 million demand so as to help protect our profits on Little Upsilon. Thanks for reading Lord Lee. |
Kolenski (Little Upsilon) | Saturday, February 18, 2012 - 05:50 am I second the motion. I have been buying up a lot of the surplus FMUs on various planets as the surpluses appear to help stabilize markets but one of these days I am going to have to sell them off (and you know what will happen then). Whoever is dicking around with the FMU markets just quit doing it, there are easier ways to make (virtual) money in this game anyway. |
Bruce Springsteen (Little Upsilon) | Saturday, February 18, 2012 - 06:13 pm FYI: I'm withholding production (50 percent) with all my FMU companies. I'd suggest more of us do that until the price re-stabilizes. |
Lord Lee (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, February 19, 2012 - 11:15 pm There's no need to withhold your production. The problem is players exporting FMU from other planets to LU. |
Keonicus (Little Upsilon) | Monday, February 20, 2012 - 07:37 am I say nay! The idea of setting up a barrier to protect the profits of certain players is against the idea of a free market and of little benefit to LU as a whole. Why should the trade of FMU's across the worlds be stopped or hampered just to save the profits of a few? |
Lord Lee (Little Upsilon) | Monday, February 20, 2012 - 04:35 pm Many players old and new have build FMU factories on Little Upsilon and already have been adversely affected by the decling price. This problem is not just affecting a few player but many players on Little Upsilon and is damaging to the planet's economy as a whole. Sometimes the free market does need regulating. For example look what happened on Earth recently with the banking crisis. Lord Lee |
Keonicus (Little Upsilon) | Monday, February 20, 2012 - 08:20 pm How does a cheaper FMU unit adversely affect the economy? I can see how that would badly affect the FMU producers, but I'd think that everyone else who needs to purchase FMU's are doing well thanks to the cheaper price and ease of obtaining it. |
Lord Lee (Little Upsilon) | Monday, February 20, 2012 - 10:11 pm Some players have been making heavy loses and because of this haven't been able to expand their empires and even faced bankruptcy. Do you even have a country on Little Upsilon? |
Keonicus (Little Upsilon) | Monday, February 20, 2012 - 10:15 pm I'm a CEO, though I have owned countries at some point in the past. Forgive me if I seem argumentative, but I remember those dark, horrible days where FMU's were always in short supply. Plus I'm interested in how the Space Trade is affecting the economy, so I'm just asking questions so I can understand the situation. |
Bruce Springsteen (Little Upsilon) | Thursday, February 23, 2012 - 03:32 am Would it be effective for Presidents on LU to use boycotts to protect our markets? Too bad we don't have the option of tariffs ... |
