Monday, September 14, 2009 - 03:18 pm Curious to see how many people used the "National Anthem" I searched a fair few countries but found only a handful of non-default drum bass anthems. Hands up for the countries that have characterised themselves with this feature. I'll start with myself: "NX Prime" and mucho credit to "The Better Part Of Me" for cheering me up with theirs

Wednesday, September 16, 2009 - 01:27 pm Thanks. I have stated and explained my other themes in this thread. No one else has bothered to choose an anthem for their countries? I think changing the standard and immutable "president message" and "national anthem" links to something customizable, would give it a starting kick. The president message could even be a link to youtube, the blog or something else. Video sites, blogs, the Web 2.0 in general, have emerged since 2001.

Wednesday, September 16, 2009 - 03:23 pm I can't find one that fully incorporates all my core expressions. I've been looking for days. When i find one suitable, I also find that there is still something missing. I want something along the lines of speech, mixed with "I'll kill you awl", sprinkled with my ambitions as a simC president. What I have stumbled upon has been dissapointing to group these three major necessities into one fabulous message. Any help?

Wednesday, September 16, 2009 - 05:36 pm Inanna, maybe you're just going to have to get a mic and record your own then upload it. You could say then pretty much whatever you want, or tweak it to sound like you're booming off mountains (or the bodies of the people you've just killed?!) Or, make it sound like ED209 off robocop (just imagining old ED209 putting on glasses as he delivers his keynote speech about education and fiscal taxes then a fly annoys him so he machine guns it to oblivion, awesome)

Wednesday, September 16, 2009 - 05:53 pm Nice concept Laguna, I think because people have to actually click the areas people are fairly oblivious to it, an auto kick in of audio when someone looks at the country would at least raise awareness and give instant personality as people peruse other countries. (not even at much storage cost, my audio file is only 754k for a good 30 secs). PS i have a couple of spare 20-30 sec audio files if anyone wants em, just message me ingame with your email (i doubt you want it advertised on the boards) at NX PRIME and ill pop em over, you never know, you may like em

Why didn't you say so already! XIX and XX centuries' erudit music is stuffed with that. But I really don't appreciate it, so I avoid it. Not that I have anything against opium crackheads and suicidal-maniacs - hey, some of my best friends are opium crackheads and suicidal-maniacs... not many of the later, though. Don't know why, really. Must be something about me. Well, what I meant to say was: baking contests are serious business, srsly. On to the real stuff: I happen to stumble upon the film Jaws yesterday. So when you said "I'll kill you awl", I immediately remembered the From the New World's 4th movement. (listen, at least, 1:30s) If you saw the movie, this will make sense: Requiem for a dream. Although, I do have to say, is this Wendy translated into music and screenplay or what? 1812 Overture. Marche slave and Mozart's 20th are worth considering. I vote Wendy gets Sabre dance as her national anthem. ;0 If you have a Youtube account, just add the videos to your quicklist or into a new playlist, and listen to them throughout the day. I never get bored. How I enjoy vibrant music.

Thursday, September 17, 2009 - 04:00 am Wait... "Something along the lines of speech"? You mean like Sousa's Stars and Stripes Forever? Speech as in Important?
| |
Thursday, September 17, 2009 - 05:21 am Yes speech is important, like a political rant sprinkled over a nice tune. But meaningful. I may have to create my own. As I am currently listening to this symphony you suggested, "NewWorld's . . ." I like the intro, it kind of fades off mellow out. As I finish listening, I am going off in my head with possibilites of a voice-over. This could be something great. It will proly be a controversial end result in typical Wendy fashion. Thnks LG, you may have sparked a new hobby. Symphony is strikingly stimulating, and could add a new dimension to my presence while in SimCountry. I'll keep you updated.

Thursday, September 17, 2009 - 05:23 am What a climax at about 6 minutes into New Worlds . . . Oh my

Thursday, September 17, 2009 - 05:33 am Darn LG, i never had any interest in any of this unitl now. Mozart was the best so far, not for my anthem, but just as a standalone piece. Wow, I actually got stuck daydreaming in the music of the 20th LOL. Does anyone happen to know of any software that would allow you to create or simulate this music on your comp? I would love to take it as a hobby. I think Dub was into that right?

Thursday, September 17, 2009 - 05:40 am Your personal choice was nice, I know that song, proly everyone does. But to see the handiwork was awesome. The guy on playing the wood xylophone? Well his handiwork is way impressive. I am almost envious. Nice work there, to do it live and not mess up going so fast.
