Martock (Little Upsilon) | Wednesday, March 18, 2009 - 02:15 am "Hail to the King, baby!" I'm back on the SC, though for how long I'm not sure...it says my term ends 28 February 2009 and it's the middle of March 2009. Anyway, here it is again. Any country requesting aid needs to the following conditions: 1) Remove the secrecy for their Financial Index and Strategic Force Index. - Reasoning here is simple, if you have nukes you should already have a decent economy in place to maintain them. Also, I'd like to make sure that you're not going into debt buy constantly buying up weapons. I don't want to support your wet dreams of global proportions. 2) Dismantle any plutonium mines, weapons grade uranium corps, and strategic weapons corps. Of the strategic weapons corps, I will limit this to nuke missiles, nuke sub missiles, tactical nukes, chemical missiles, and strategic bombs. You can produce all the nuke subs, strategic bombers and various weapon launchers you want. 3) Relatively new player - To be this means you're country has been under your control for less than 100 game years. It's basically my way of saying that I won't be giving out aid to vets and I define 'Vets' as those players who've been around for 100+ game years. I'm putting these conditions forth as I don't feel like supporting nutters out there with global ambitions or nuke fetishes. My offer is open to any and ALL who ask. This includes ALL of our current bad boys and good kiddies. I will not promise that the resolution will be accepted just that it will be put forth. I also won't promise that I will vote for any resolution I put up. "The Security Council has 586.72T SC$ in cash." I'd like to see that number drop but really that's up to the community. You can leave a request here, message me at The Union of Lucarnia, or message any of the other 15 council members. No promises that they'll respond or even put forth any resolution. -- Matt *My empire makes no representations and hereby disclaims all warranties, express or implied, as to the timeliness, accuracy, completeness, or suitability for any purpose of the information contained in the omissions and related information published by my empire, in its forum or elsewhere on the Internet. Pathetic Sheep (Little Upsilon) | Wednesday, March 18, 2009 - 04:12 am We could use the UN development fund to pay for war games. Rapidly spending cash on immediate orders for high quality weapons will boost profits for anyone in business. That includes newbs who have not found your thread. It also could be fun. If you give the cash to players with debt they will pay off their loans. That does nothing for our economy. It just forces wealthy players to pay more in financial services. In some cases it will force him/her to spend time trying to give out loans instead of investing the interest building more economy. A player in debt can purchase any commodity needed to build his/her economy. The only things that in-debt countries can't buy is nukes and offensive weapons. Any concern that someone might spend money on nuke fetishes is alleviated by leaving him/her in debt. Someone might worry that the development funds will be hoarded instead of spent on immediate weapons orders. Ripping off a group of people who intend to explode several hundred trillion dollars of arms would be very rash. If you have temporary control of a war game country you would need to buy a lot of weapons quickly or else you would quickly lose control of that war game country. This could be self-regulated. |
Martock (Little Upsilon) | Wednesday, March 18, 2009 - 02:56 pm I've put forth a proposal of aid for The Kingdom of Franco. Jack Frost had put one up earlier but it was defeated in the general election. TKoF needs this aid package to help pay off $11T in debt. For all those who read and vote (including SC members), remember, voting yes does NOT charge your country a dime. Please vote YES to support this aid package. @ Pathetic Sheep - my requirements stand. I can't prevent any player from using the $$$ foolishly. They can use the money for whatever means they want but to even get considered by me, they must meet my requirements. Once the money is in their account, it is out of my hands. |
shaun (Little Upsilon) | Wednesday, March 18, 2009 - 09:34 pm what we need for the war games is for general voting within the security council to be enough and skip over the general elections and raise the max of 5T to something like 20T |
Martock (Little Upsilon) | Thursday, March 19, 2009 - 01:55 am Ahh...so short lived. My reign on the SC has once again come to an end. I thought it was odd that it had Feb 28 2009 as the ending date. C'est la vie. Anyway, if you need aid, just request it. Shaun and Pathetic Sheep, please create a new thread for your discussion as I'd like to keep this one open for aid requests. |
Pathetic Sheep (Little Upsilon) | Thursday, March 19, 2009 - 07:49 am A thread titled "security council aid" should be about that topic. My suggestion was serious and if implemented I would put time and effort into follow through. Using the aid on in alternative way directly effects use for aid that you are suggesting. I do not see an advantage in discussing the same topic in 2 threads. Feel free to flame or insult me provided that the flaming insults relate to my suggestion posted March 18th. Why do we want to reduce debt on LU? Why are we discouraging the foolish use of money? I think both are harmful to well established empires and CEOs on LU. That is, profit from loans and profit from rampant consumption should help the rich and long term players. Shaun If both SNA and VS backed the war games you could easily pull enough votes through the general public. A lot of non-fed people will vote with the herd. If all countries getting the aid had the words "war games" ["war games 1", "war games 2", war "games shaun", "war games NULO"] most people who care would find out what was going on before deciding to vote no. Dumping 500T in will deter a lot of no voters because he/she would have to vote no 100 times. |
Martock | Thursday, March 19, 2009 - 02:29 pm Again PS this is a thread for peeps needing aid to reduce their debt. You want to discuss the topic of security council aid and how to better improve it or the SC, create your OWN thread in the Suggestions forum or better yet, create a poll for people to vote on. Please do not crowd this thread with your thoughts on improvements. |
Martock (Little Upsilon) | Saturday, March 21, 2009 - 07:04 am Ron Samuels has requested aid for cohen world. (He meets my requirements.) I humbly request any available SC member to put forth an aid request for him in the SC. |
Beast (Little Upsilon) | Saturday, March 21, 2009 - 08:04 am I'll put it in for him once I am able again Martock. I was recently contacted by a "new" player who asked for aid. I looked at his country and it did indeed seem like he could use the aid and met many of the standards you follow. Since then, he has joined Sons of Light Bloodline |
Jack Frost (Little Upsilon) | Saturday, March 21, 2009 - 08:08 am Its Morpheus from KB he isnt a new player by any standards |
Martock (Little Upsilon) | Saturday, March 21, 2009 - 02:25 pm Termzii has requested aid for Termz. Thanks guys. I appreciate your hard work with regards to this. |
Beast (Little Upsilon) | Saturday, March 21, 2009 - 04:46 pm ? The guy I put it in for was 'merovingian' or something like that. Morpheus was in my fed before. |
Jack Frost (Little Upsilon) | Saturday, March 21, 2009 - 09:14 pm yeah Morpheus changed his name to Merovingian..... both have to do with The Matrix and I have talked to him as Merovingian and I called him morpheus and he answered. Proposal has just been sent for Termz |
Stuart Taylor (Little Upsilon) | Monday, March 23, 2009 - 04:27 pm Theres currently a vote up for the country, 'Termz'. I voted against this resolution for the following reason; Assets -4,756.24 B Military Assets 5,813.03 B As you can see, if he sold some of his military assets, he would not need a security council aid package. Basically, the SC is paying for his army. Thanks. |
JoKeR Man (Little Upsilon) | Monday, April 13, 2009 - 04:45 am A proposal has been made to give me 5T for development aid. I'm new to LU and would appriciate it if everyone voted yes. Anyway I can help anyone else, let me know. |
Pope Samicus IX (Kebir Blue) | Tuesday, April 14, 2009 - 12:19 am I would ask someone to propose aid for Empire of the Sea. He has been told to drop secrecy for examination. Thanks. |
JoKeR Man (Little Upsilon) | Tuesday, April 14, 2009 - 10:55 pm I need some more votes for my proposal. |
Martock (Little Upsilon) | Wednesday, April 15, 2009 - 03:03 am JoKeR Man - you might help your proposal by removing the secrecy settings you currently have in place. If you don't know how to do this, from your main page, click on Settings and then on the next screen, click on configure secrecy parameters. From there it's just a matter of unchecking all the boxes. Just as an FYI, though you failed to meet my requirements due to the secrecy settings, I still voted to support you as you appear to be a new player. I believe it important to show new players that there are vets out there that don't just stomp on them. Do yourself a favor though and lose the secrecy settings for the time being. If the vote fails, an SC member can put it back up for voting again. |
