shaun (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, January 18, 2009 - 12:34 am i had bought a country when i started and so had been waiting on leveling up until i thought it was a month later. but lo and behold i see this today as i hit lv 4. Jan 18 00:18 Purchased new country or enterprise on LU Received 0 Gold Coins for reaching Game Level 4 on LU the country in question was Dec 19 2008 Used 50 Gold Coins to pay Angrywildebeast in exchange for Country No Rest for the Weary on LU my question is complex. first will i ever get GC for level 4 status? and if so when? is it 1 month after the purchase was made thus tomorow? or is it a full 30 real life days which would be like next week? and will i have to do anything special to claim the 4th lv reward? i ask because i was planning to be lv 5 next week but this will slow me down if i get no reward for doing it why bother...was even praying to be lv 6 by the end of the month |
Keith Allaire (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, January 18, 2009 - 12:49 am Nope Should be a big disclaimer somewhere on the bid on countries page that leveling a purchased country within 30 days of its purchase will result in no reward at all. The restriction is a bit much, as I can get a C3 to level 2 within a week, even to level 3 if I buy pop for it, but the restriction is meant to prevent scenarios like me, a level 5 player, from selling one of my slaves to a noob, and the noob getting pretty much automatic GC rewards from buying a successful country without having to earn the level awards himself. |
John R (Kebir Blue) | Sunday, January 18, 2009 - 01:06 am Maybe, there is.
Quote:You are about to place a bid on a Country. When your bid is accepted and the country is yours, your Game Level might increase in the near future because of this purchase. Please note you will NOT receive Game Level Awards (Gold Coins) if your Game Level increases in the 30 days after this country was purchased!
The pop-up appeared for a reason, Shaun. |
Orbiter (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, January 18, 2009 - 01:17 am yeah, at the end of dec i bought 2 cuntries, saw that message... as my empire was well on its way to lvl4 i've spent the last few weeks trying to continue my empires impovement, with out leveling. the method i finally adopted was to put my empire into debt, to keep from leveling, crude but it works |
Zentrino (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, January 18, 2009 - 01:43 am Yeah. I stopped building hospitals in some of my countries for that reason. Should he drop below level 4 and then return to level 4 after it has been more than 30 days, will he then be eligible for the award since he has never received it? |
John R (Fearless Blue) | Sunday, January 18, 2009 - 01:45 am Nope. Never again. |
shaun (Golden Rainbow) | Sunday, January 18, 2009 - 01:48 am john my game level did not increase in the near future because of my purchase. The country i purchased was not in very good shape at the time and its not my main and i have worked hard to make it prosper. i was a newb only a few days in when i purchased a nation. Then i went on to conquer 4 other c3s around me. I didnt try to start lving up until just this week in preparation for the 30 day expiration buying up tons of defense weapons for all my many countries, and had to sell a lot of GC to get the cash to get my nations out of debt. and then to see that i popped into lv 4 a few days early and thus never be eligible for a lv 4 gc award seems a bit ridiculous to me...i must of read it as your game level will not increase for 30 days after purchase and thus i figured it would take care of itself on its own. and now i cant even go on to lv 5 until i know for sure when exactly the 30 day restriction ends. no where on my empire page does it say warning x days xx mins until you can level up or be eligible for awards. Just seems unfair to me to have that ruling passed down on me in this case. obviously different than some newb with only his 6m population main nation getting someone to temporarily sell him their war slave to quick rank him to lv 4... |
Keith Allaire (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, January 18, 2009 - 02:27 am Nope. That "ruling" was there well before you bought the country. You ignored the warning that popped up, and bought the country anyway. You could have asked on the help forum just HOW that warning should be interpreted, before you bought the country. You did not. |
Okstate Guy (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, January 18, 2009 - 02:55 am Personally I understand why Shaun is upset here. He bought that country from EO before he knew what leveling up was. I've never understood or liked that rule. Why not just set the game to not count that country into your level rewards? If a guy has 10 countries and bought one - he should still have an incentive to play the game and level up those other nine counties. |
Zentrino (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, January 18, 2009 - 06:22 am Exactly. I shouldn't be forced to stop building a certain area just to ensure I don't hit level 5 and lose my 200 coins. |
Alexander Platypus (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, January 18, 2009 - 08:41 am Wow, does this rule also apply if i were to simply pay the registration fee for a new world and get a c3? I certainly hope not !!!! 30 days is a long time to wait before even level 2 or 3. |
Keith Allaire (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, January 18, 2009 - 09:36 am No, if you register a C3 on another world, this does not apply. It only applies to countries purchased from the cash market. |
shaun (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, January 18, 2009 - 10:26 am so tomorow can i get credit for lv 5 or must i wait till the 31st day? |
Keith Allaire (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, January 18, 2009 - 10:33 am wait |
