josias jorvick (Fearless Blue) | Tuesday, July 22, 2008 - 09:44 pm ***** Is it a bad thing when your CEO's have unsold products? ***** it depends on how you view it. i purposely have unsold product... ofcourse if your corps aren't selling, they aren't making money, so the basic answer is, yes, its a bad thing i however, i set the selling price to high, and set the asking price to lower every month. so in theory, my corps will hold onto their production for 3-6 months before the price lowers enough to match what buyers are willing to pay. so in the end i make the same amount. and in case demand goes way up, and buyers are willing to pay more, ive got the goods... so i guess it depends on you, as to whether it is a good thing or not. |
JamesPhoniex (White Giant) | Tuesday, July 22, 2008 - 11:00 pm You could also stock key items. Does holding onto to products add market value to the corp? |
Pathetic Sheep (White Giant) | Sunday, August 17, 2008 - 08:48 am Not sure about the game programming but if this were real world corporations... The products are part of "total assets". "Corporation debt" is also part of "total assets" but in a negative way. "Corporation loans" would add to "total assets". Loans on white giant are running at 30%. If Josias Jorvick's strategy gains more than 30% interest then it should increase profits. Profits should usually increase market value. Market values are are often based on impression. The impression created by "unsold products" might look bad and out weigh the impression created by more profit. On the other hand, a good sales strategy might also create a better impression. So it could go either way. |
Sam Houston (Little Upsilon) | Thursday, August 21, 2008 - 06:24 am 1. Market values are based on the price of weed in Holland. 2. The Market is always self correcting. 3. Set your sales strategy at 50 over quality and drop 23 a month unsold. Buy raw materials at 190 quality and always, always upgrade. 4. Hail the Lizard King and his holy market! |
