Varquim Velorojas | Thursday, November 17, 2022 - 11:24 am Simcountry is one of the best nation Sims I have come across, and I feel this game has immense potential, but unfortunately it is not exploited to that extent. There are some reasons I think which are responsible: 1. A lack of proper tutorial videos - I think brief tutorial videos can present the game as acceptable and easy to play, than the documentation documents. 2. Outreach - The game has come a long way and now has a dedicated discord group ( special thanks to the White Giant Allaince of the White Giant World). But the discord group is known only to players. I suggest a minor restructuring of the discord group and put it up at disboard ( Disboard is a platform for discord channels where a discord group is put up and is immediately available to a very larger audience and players who might like to have a look at the game) 3. Targeting mock gov discord servers: We, who use discord, cannot deny the fact that there are innemerable mock gov servers. This proves that many people love roleplaying and nation simulation type games. My suggestion to target these groups and even better if we have a new world which supports the mock gov servers Dynamics and make as many as people play this beautiful game. @Andy |
Amalie | Thursday, November 17, 2022 - 12:21 pm The lack of communication within the game is what’s causing its downfall Yes there’s the forums but hardly anyone goes on the forums And we try communicating through discord as of now but it’s dry |
Varquim Velorojas | Thursday, November 17, 2022 - 03:26 pm absolutely right sir |
Kljones702 | Thursday, November 17, 2022 - 09:37 pm Unfortunately, one of the few times I can remember when the game was on fire was during all the drama an wars we had going on in the WG. Now, Im not saying lets all start wars and drama again with each other, but we need to find a way to make things more interesting again within this world. What that would be is still to be discovered. I like that players are still here, an willing/wanting to make this world more active again. |
Amalie | Friday, November 18, 2022 - 01:30 am It’s all the worlds that is inactive lolollol |
Varquim Velorojas | Friday, November 18, 2022 - 09:41 am Yes That is the sad part. We need more ideas as to how we can make it more interesting, any one with any ideas are free to post in this tread. |
nathan | Tuesday, November 22, 2022 - 06:17 pm Many people disagree with me on this but I'll still parrot my suggestion... I would love if some of the worlds were combined. Maybe 1 war world, and 1 peace world. I can basically spin up a new country, enable the automation stuff, and get to rank 50+ within a couple weeks. I'll admit I have no idea how to properly execute such a change, but thats my 2 cents |
belcher11 | Monday, November 28, 2022 - 08:43 pm My suggestions is that there's to many worlds and two many countries. There should be a war world and a peaceful world that war is optional. This game is fun, but only when people are force to communicate because of shared borders or regional issues. There needs to be more done and said at the security council level with more to do instead of financial loans and banning nukes from certain counties. Discord is great, but I feel it take players from the forums and no one can really see what's being discussed. We can make this game fun again because it's been dry. Myself only check in once every blue moon and I want to get on more and actually be excited about learning more and being evolved. At the end of the day it's a game and all the trash talking I did was not personal, but just part of the game. Long live the UDL!!! |
Hars Durango | Tuesday, November 29, 2022 - 07:08 am These suggestions are worth a note. Excellent |
JOEL | Wednesday, November 30, 2022 - 03:19 pm Id have to agree. I think everyone being spread out on distant plants probably hurts the overall game. Also the massive continents and small countries don't help much. However I know the logistics of these things will be tough. |
belcher11 | Thursday, December 1, 2022 - 02:15 am I think the game master needs to halt game play for a week or longer to downsize the game. I agree fully that the game is to massive. The worlds could be combined and the continent's could be reworked to fit everyone that's playing or have counties. Not everyone will like the reworked continent's but people would adjust and it will force leaders to actually talk about borders, trade and military agreements. I think in the long haul it would make the game more exciting for the players and have them coming back for more. I think the security council should have more to say and do and use the power of the vote and the power of the security council have. I think federation should be limited to how many people can join and the map needs to include things like mountains and ect. This game has lot's to offer if done right. |

Hars Durango | Saturday, December 3, 2022 - 08:33 am This is very effective. Welcome back, The King of the Batavian Isles |

Aaron UKnow | Friday, January 6, 2023 - 02:33 am what could make it more fun is if something happens. nothing happens here, with much frequency, other games have events, alliance/fed vs federaion events, world vs world. some 1hr events, some 24hr events. some events you lose troops/weapons, some you dont. some events you pay to enter but receive rewards if you score a certain amount etc..... i played guns of glory for the past few years and the game itself is dumb compared to this but the people were great and something was always happening. thats the way that was and between the people and events i liked it and spent a considerable amount of money on it for the past few years. |
Aaron UKnow | Friday, January 6, 2023 - 02:40 am also im kinda drunk. have a great night/day! |
Hars Durango | Friday, January 6, 2023 - 10:29 am Nice to meet you Aaron, Your suggestions makes a lot of sense. It's a good idea to have events. It kinda attract players too. |
Borgqueen | Wednesday, July 12, 2023 - 10:34 pm Well, what made us leave the game for the first time was when Andy disabled the player-traded GCs. Before that it was possible to 'catch up to the older' players through gameplay, have a good economy and you could buy GCs with SC$ to catch up on population without large-scale wars and without a big credit-card. Now new players see empires with 1b population which pose a danger to anyone who wants to expand and leave war protection while buying additional countries costs about 30US$ each. |
JOEL | Friday, July 14, 2023 - 01:25 pm Large Empires are typically not a threat to new players wanting to leave war level 3. If anything most of the players who have large empires are relatively peaceful and helpful to newer players. |
Borgqueen | Friday, July 14, 2023 - 08:21 pm We never talked about what is, but what new players see. Point to any game there is which includes PvP and we point to it to see there are griefers so no wonder one expects to see it here, even if not true. |
Eeeee OOOooo | Saturday, September 2, 2023 - 02:05 am Many changes to the game that've been made since I started have been great. That's not what this thread is about though so I will not touch on that. I agree with Borgqueen's summary here. I don't want to comment too much more about that either, but I know that it's *SIGNIFICANTLY* more difficult to play as much, expand as much or become relevant for most new players and accounts who don't go beyond a basic membership than it used to be. Hustling isn't rewarded so much now, nor is it really possible in most of the ways it used to be. A challenge the game has now with war levels, reduced ability to generate GCs, less profit, and a smaller player base is there are so few incentives to interact with other players. Joining a federation is almost entirely pointless, and players who are currently in federations that I've talked to have echoed this. Federations used to generate lots of interaction and be a main source of teaching and providing of information for new players. I feel that the more isolated players become, the less likely new players are to figure the game out, and the more easily they bore. It seems to me that a combination of the changes listed above have contributed some to reduced avenues of competition, reduced variety of gameplay, and reduced interaction between players - all of which have made it less appealing for some to stick around or learn how to play more fully. It has become more of a single player game in most respects. Any changes that create competition or gameplay interactions between players would be welcome. Changes that force players to band together for any reason would also be welcome. Additional community building would be great. This is part of the reason whether like it or not, I post a lot on the forums. Online games are more interesting with more community content. |
Robert | Sunday, September 3, 2023 - 07:24 am I completely agree with Eeeee OOOooo (love the new name, btw- lol). There are too many "rules" that just don't make sense and I can't imagine being a new player trying to work through the point of the game, much less the rules and restrictions. Too much complication. Still love the game though- a lot. |
Eeeee OOOooo | Wednesday, September 6, 2023 - 02:17 am Thanks Robert! I keep coming back because I love it too. |
Kangcutz | Thursday, September 28, 2023 - 11:41 am Maybe make national resources rare can encourage players to a more competitive gampelay. And the market should be more player driven economics, w3c corps should produce less than player corps and pricing commodities should be controlled by players not automatically. It can easily achieved by dividing resources to certain regions or countries so empire who control several country also controling the resources. But the game should also avoid monopoly of some resources by empire And Free player should have impact on the economics of the world also, it will give them reasons to play while still being limited to certain commodities. Plus the country should be self sufficient at certain points. |
