The best 20 to 40 presidents and the best 10 to 25 CEOs in each world receive awards. Awards range between 15 and 500 gold coins and may increase or decline with the number of players in each world.
on WG the top countries page lists # awards
1 award 149 GC
7 awards 58 GC
15 awards 15 GC
so does that mean?
1st place (1) 149 GC
2nd - 8th (7) 58 GC each
9th - 23rd (15) 15 GC each
on the last day of NOV @ midnight and through DEC 1 I was ranked 23rd. should i have not received 15 GC?

Sometimes it takes a few days. Your rank on the last day of the month sets the value. |

The game should soon ask you if you wish to accept the award. JohnV is right, sometimes it takes a while for the game to process everything.
Although, since you were 23rd of 23 awards, I suppose it might be possible that someones score went above yours at the last moment, making you 24th.
If that is the case, don't worry, the players above you will fall down the rankings when they accept their awards (score penalty for awards accepted).
So next month you'd be much higher on the list. Getting you an award.

thanks for the help, both. i was 23rd all day on the 30th and through the 1st continuously moving ahead still. now up to 19. I was actually online through the midnight EST deadline so no one jumped me. but I appreciate taking the time to respond. OH, you can still get an award if you already claimed one recently (2 mos ago)?

Yes, you can still get an award if you have claimed one recently, the system Simcountry uses, is a score penalty for accepting awards, that gradually wears off over time.
