Hello everybody,I need someone to explain what is happening.I just finished a war and upgraded some of my units.Few RL hours later I come back and find that one of my units,a Bomber Squadron,is missing. It was not destroyed in the war[it didn't even lose an aircraft in the war] but now it's disappeared. It's really annoying coz it was my best unit and to reach that fighting level was no walk in the park. Can someone explain to me what happened please?

Always check your newspaper (and post your country and world when asking for help):

Dismantled Hammer Squadron Air Force Attack and Bombing Wing
Thu Jan 4, 3577 Shortage on Attack Drone Missiles.
Hammer Squadron Air Force Attack and Bombing Wing has been dismantled because Union of Havenite States has not enough Attack Drone Missiles for maintenance and training of the army

(For reference on this, check game news #75)

Also, I saw your log. You would benefit greatly from the C3 guide I posted on the Beginners Forum. You continue with the strategy you just used and you will be eaten up at a higher war level.

Actually, it's a pretty big flaw in the game. I've never heard of the Dutch military being disbanded because there was a (temporary) shortage of bullets, or the Danish air force being abolished because there was a (temporary) shortage of bombs. The worst thing that could happen normally, is that soldiers temporarily are being sent home, but not that complete units get disbanded. However, those are just my thoughts, and maybe there is a good reason for why it works this way in Simcountry :-)

Effectively, being "sent home" is exactly what happens. All weapons and ammo that remained in the unit will be located in his country stock. He is then free to acquire the necessary equipment and reform the unit as he wishes.

From a realism standpoint, imagine aircraft that need to be temporarily grounded to resolve maintenance issues, naval ships undergoing a modernization or life extension repairs, or armored vehicles waiting for a resolution of a lack of spare parts. Units temporarily get pulled from active status all the time.

That's true. The idea as such is not bad, it's just horribly annoying that those materials get deactivated and that it's a crucifying and long process to activate everything.. Currently, it is quicker to sell the materials from the disbanded units and buy new weapons, instead of going through the process of reactivating a max of 10% every game month.

Roberto, did you read the article in game news I cited? If you had a serious ammo shortage, some, or all, of your weapons might have been converted to ammo. Either take the effort to learn what happened or just leave it at crying about the game. Don't blame the guy that had to read your own game news to tell you what happened. k?

Roberto, I agree it's a strange aspect of the game, it also happened to me several times... However, after a few times I learned to keep more than enough ammunition in stock, so that my units could get replenished even after an exhausting war, and still I'd have enough ammunition stock. Don't worry, in real life there are also strange situation and solutions to some problems sometimes. And besides, from every annoyance you can make a strength ^^ (like keeping enough ammo, so this will never happen again to you)
