Star Foth | Saturday, August 10, 2013 - 04:03 am I maintain a powerful navy. Basically, each nation can have 3 fleets. "Fleet command" (best for strategic warfare) "Helicopter Carrier" (Best for defensive) and "Jet Carrier" (Best for offensive) You need to have a decent level of supply ships, but not too many, and defensive destroyers in all. Helicopter carrier allows you to have naval helicopters, that are labeled as "offensive" because they can strike out at any enemy force. Do not use these to attack enemy cities, forts, and yadda yadda. Use them to attack enemy forces within' your own borders, and equip them with decent(crossed out) GOOD defensive naval weapons. Fleet command is only good for strategic warefare and naval combat. Load with nuclear subs, defensive destroyers, submarines, and attack destroyers and boats. Use them in nuclear combat and attacking enemy fleets. Jet carriers need defensive destroyers, around 400 decently armed jets at HIGH quality (buy at Q240+ because naval corporations need to hire at 10% and produce at 10% until they upgrade decently and order decent supplies), SEAL units, and attack destroyers. Use these fleets to kill off enemy jet fighters and interceptors, as well as saturate enemy targets and paint the coasts if existent. Navies are insane cost and insane powerful if you know how to use them. They are rare and underused, so if you care to learn naval war strategies, contact me. If you have a pop below 30M-35M, have only one fleet, and choose wisely. At higher populaces, they are good if you know how to use them. |
thewhy | Saturday, August 10, 2013 - 08:16 am lol I don't find myself disagreeing much with my friend star foth here maybe a vet or godforbid andy can come in here and clarify...... as far as I know jet carriers are better then fleet command and helo carriers and therefore you shouldn't bother with helo carriers or fleet commands..... the reason being is that with navy jets you can attack ground targets air defense and pretty much anything while with helos you can only attack ground and with fleet command.... well they dont have any special carrier capabilities and a carrier can do anything a fleet command can.... I haven't run the numbers but I imagine helos can do ground attack more cost effective then navy jets but the capabilities of jets are very diverse and I find them superior to helos.... I only bother with one jet carrier because it allows me to concentrate more defensive weapons into a single force..... I had 500 Navy MIB and DB aswell as 25 defensive and offensive destroyers and about 10 missile cruisers in my country of 30 million...... as far as I know seals are useless and supply ships haven't been fully integrated into the game...... as far as I know navies have pretty much been nerfed and are in need of an update to make them more comparable to conventional forces.... but they are useful and fun.... make sure you buy high quality because you cant upgrade navy weapons |
thewhy | Saturday, August 10, 2013 - 08:16 am agreeing* |
thewhy | Saturday, August 10, 2013 - 08:20 am I suggest you ask other players how they setup their navies and make a comparison of yours to the average because I just guessed for my setup I may have been critically short of missile defense or destroyers or whatever however in my limited pvp experiance it stood up to attacks in a decent manner..... that's the main thing defenses because without defenses your 400 navy fighters valued at 500 billion are sitting ducks |
Star Foth | Saturday, August 10, 2013 - 09:24 am You can only buy one of each. I have those 3 fleets. That's why my helo carrier is stationed near my waters, so I can attack enemy ground forces while they are within' my territory. As for air forces, that's what jet carriers are for. Fleet commands are just for when you wanna put nukes on subs and send them out to the middle of the ocean hard to get to or find and ready to strike. |
thewhy | Saturday, August 10, 2013 - 07:21 pm I see I didn't know you could only have one of each |
Star Foth | Saturday, August 10, 2013 - 09:51 pm They're like different bases. One strategic, one defensive, one offensive |
