Brian The Terrible (Fearless Blue) | Sunday, April 18, 2010 - 08:40 am Send me a message if you are interested? If you are from a federation in a different world that we are not allies, don't worry.Lets talk we may have the same common goal that we can work together to achieve! Send all messages to Pentiction in White Giant thank you for your time! |
Jo Salkilld (White Giant) | Sunday, April 18, 2010 - 02:22 pm I would like to make it clear that the reason for the war between WGC and Brian is that Brian attacked and took the majority of countries belonging to one of our new players. We asked him nicely not to pursue the war before it started and he ignored us. We then warned him to back off, also before it started, and again he ignored us. Once he had taken that player's countries, he also attacked and took countries from another WGC new member. WGC is not an aggressive fed, and we respect every player's right to play the game the way they want to. But we will not stand for aggressive and experienced players picking on those unable to defend themselves. Especially when they are our fedmates. Brian was warned that, if he decided to pursue aggresive behaviour towards WGC he would regret it. He is clearly now doing so. I would urge other players not to support him in his attitude, which is clearly to take whatever he wants by force of arms and spoil the game for those just starting out. Brian, if you want to negotiate an end to this war, which will involve making reparation and giving us a firm undertaking not to attack our members again, we are always willing to avoid bloodshed via diplomacy. Please contact me ingame at Hanky Panky Hippy Land. Hugs and respect Jo WGC Deputy Chair and Foregin Minister |
Brutus Buckeye | Sunday, April 18, 2010 - 10:06 pm From experience, I know for a fact that WGC bends over backwards to avoid war. It had, at times, been a subject of conversation that WGC goes to the point of actually being walked on to avoid a war, so if they are at war, it certainly isn't from trying "EVERY" avenue to keep away from it. So IMO, if Mr Terrible gets his butt kicked, he certainly asked for it. So, I too ask that no one comes to his aid. He made his bed, now he'll get put to sleep in it. LOL My full support is behind WGC Jo. Brutus |
Brian The Terrible (White Giant) | Monday, April 19, 2010 - 12:28 am That's funny. To clear the record I attacked a inactive player that didn't log in for over a month and still hasn't logged in.I told the hippy that I was going to take a couple of his countries and that would be it?Then some of his fed mates dec on me and I told them as long as they keep dec on me I will keep pick off some of there fed mates? There reply was to talk with there chairman so I did.The Harmless hippy never returned any messages. But I will message him again and see what he says? |
Jo Salkilld (Golden Rainbow) | Monday, April 19, 2010 - 01:22 am For the record, Brian, this Hippy is a she and she is hardly Harmless, as you well know. Yes, the player was inactive. How do you know that he wasn't in hospital or dealing with a family crisis? We, as his fedmates knew and asked you not to attack him. Did you respect that? No, of course you didn't. You came to White Giant, saw juicy countries and took them with no regard for anyone. WGC has a very clear code of conduct regarding inactives. We message several times to check they are truly inactive before we even think of declaring. If they are in a fed, we message their fedmates to ask. If anyone objects, we leave them alone to enjoy playing the game. You were the one who didn't bother responding to our messages. At least not until you had taken the countries. Then you messaged to say that you had taken the countries you wanted and expected us to just let it go. When we didn't, did you attack one of our major players? No, you hid behind war protection and used your pathetic C3s to attack another new member. You left us no choice but to draw your fire with countries that had a chance of fighting you. Every message you sent us contained a threat. How did you expect us to respond? You won't get very far in this game with such a lack of respect for others. Show some respect, offer reparation and promise never to do it again and we may yet be able to stop this war. Jo |
Brian The Terrible (White Giant) | Monday, April 19, 2010 - 01:45 am I Have no interest in attacking any of your fed mates. If you Like we can call a truce and I will not dec on any of your Fed branches as long as they don't declare on me.Do we have a deal? |
Jo Salkilld (White Giant) | Monday, April 19, 2010 - 02:05 am I have responded to your ingame message Brian. If you wish to stop this war, please let me know what reparation you propose to make and give us your promise not to attack any WGC member in future. Telling me you have no interest in attacking WGC is not a promise and is only valid as long as you decide you have no interest. What's to stop you developing an interest in another WGC newb at some point in the future? We are looking for something a little more solid and longer-term than that. Jo |
Brian The Terrible (White Giant) | Monday, April 19, 2010 - 02:20 am You have my word that I will not attack any WGC members. But if any of them dec on me then I would have no choice but to attack them is what I meant. As far as reparation goes I can not offer any as it has cost alot to fight you guys. But if Bjhardouin comes back to the game I will give some of his countries back with some cash or weapons injected into them? |
Brian The Terrible (White Giant) | Thursday, April 22, 2010 - 03:30 am Can I ask why you guys are boycotting while we are in negotiations? It just seems kind of odd don't you think? |
Jo Salkilld (White Giant) | Thursday, April 22, 2010 - 05:57 pm Brian, you asked to negotiate a truce. We made no undertaking not to continue hostile action against you during that time. In fact I messaged you directly suggesting that you did not drop WP until agreement had been reached, just to make it clear that only a satisfactory negotiation would stop the war. The negotiations, however, have now stalled. We asked for a public apology for attacking WGC members and that you allow us to take back the countries you took. Your response was to ignore the apology, claim some sort of inalienable right to attack anyone whose homepage shows a lack of activity regardless of whether they have friends ingame, and to offer only to make unspecified compensation in the future if the players concerned returned. As bjhardouin is unlikely to return now that he doesn't have an empire left, you effectively offered nothing. Therefore WGC will continue its present course of action. You did not respect the right of our members / friends to play the game peacefully. If you had come to WG and built an empire through your own hard work, instead of taking someone else's by force, you would not now be in this position. Your argument that the war has cost you is irrelevant, as you could have avoided it altogether if you had just respected our polite request to leave our friend alone. If you wish to review your offer of compensation to be more realistic, feel free to get back to me. In the meantime, WGC will regretfully continue to attempt to persuade you to have a little more respect for other players in future. Jo WGC Deputy Chair and Foreign Minister |
Brian The Terrible (White Giant) | Friday, April 23, 2010 - 04:23 am I only took 2 countries from your fed and they where both inactive for over a month and they are still inactive. The only people I have fought from your fed are the ones that declared war on me.For me to give you countries that weren't yours isn't going to happen. To all your fed members that want to be left alone,I strongley suggest not to dec war on me and you shall be left alone. To the small number of fed members that dec war on me and attacked. You will not have the same luxury.Jo if the previous agreement isn't good enough I'm sorry but that is the best I can do.I'll give you a few days to think about it? |
Jo Salkilld (White Giant) | Friday, April 23, 2010 - 05:08 am We don't need a few days, Brian. You obviously haven't listened to a thing we have said, so WGC is quite happy to continue as before. WP on all 8 countries must be costing you a fortune so I suggest you drop it and let's get on with it. I promise that everyone who declares on you will be prepared to forego the 'luxury' of being left alone. Jo |
Brian The Terrible (White Giant) | Friday, April 23, 2010 - 05:58 am Ok this is my last offer,I will keep and look after all the countries I took.I will use them to level up .When I am done I will return all but Winterfell and the two countries I had before,Penticton & West vancouver.I would also need all your fed members and allies to open up and let me build 4 or 500 corps to level up to a decent level. If you can agree to this I will leave all your fed members alone and you can carry on playing a peacefull game and I will swing to a more economic game on WG.That is as fair as I can do and I will do it in a timely manner? Thanks Brian! |
Psycho_Honey (White Giant) | Friday, April 23, 2010 - 06:38 am I like Brian's Negotiating skills. Inactives... Inactives... What exactly is the reason for fed members defending inactives of players that have since left the game. Kymen doesn't adhere to the rules that Jo laid down for Brian. Albeit on LU. Many people don't care for inactives. I do. So at heart I do agree with Jo on this. But in principle, I see there is nothing left that is sacred in this game(if there ever was to begin with?) I think this is a classic case of our double standard of rules. The unspoken kind. Depends on who you are if they get enforced or not. My 2 cents and I'm out. |
Jo Salkilld (White Giant) | Friday, April 23, 2010 - 01:56 pm No double standards, Wendy. WGC rules only apply on WG. Our fed isn't on any other planet, although our members are and are often in other feds with other rules. We don't legislate beyond WG. As for inactives, as I said earlier in this thread: just because someone's homepage is showing that they haven't logged in for a while, it doesn't mean they have left the game. People have health problems, people have RL crises - we have two long-standing WGC members at the moment, one of whom had a car crash and the other has ongoing health issues but believe me, they are both intending to come back as soon as circumstances permit. There are a lot of very close friends in WGC and we keep in touch and look out for each other's countries. Our members usually inform us if they are leaving the game for good and often they gift us their empires. If they don't tell us they are going, we take their countries and preserve them intact for at least 6 RL months, so we can return them if they do come back. If we want to raid an inactive we check and double check with them and their fed if they are truly inactive and only after a period of time and a number of messages with no reply do we declare on them. If they message us while war is in progress, we halt the war and compensate them for any losses. We also prohibit raiding inactives if they are vets, high in the rankings or members of an established fed as those players have more invested in the game and are therefore more likely to return. A number of times we have lost out on raiding very nice countries to non-WGC players who don't apply the same standards, but we have no wish to take anything that anyone else values, or stop anyone who has paid to play getting full enjoyment from their subscription fee. Brian - I will put your offer to WGC and message you ingame with our answer. To quantify this: you are currently at level 7. What level would you expect to reach before honouring such an agreement and how long do you expect it to take? Hugs and respect Jo |
Brian The Terrible (White Giant) | Friday, April 23, 2010 - 02:25 pm I'm not sure somewhere around level 12.If I went beyond that I would I would need to have them more than 30 days and set up another enterprise. If I derig my 2 c3s and close them I should be able to level up quickly .It shouldn't take more than two to three weeks but I can't tell until those c3's are closed? Just message me ingame and we can work out the smaller details,Thanks Brian! |
Jo Salkilld (Golden Rainbow) | Friday, April 23, 2010 - 09:15 pm WGC have debated your offer, Brian. However, we are unable to accept, for your own good as well as to uphold our principles. You say you want to level up. Analysis of your empire shows that the countries you took from our fedmate are actually dragging your averages down. We would therefore be delighted to help you level up more quickly, and save the GCs you are currently spending on WP, by relieving you of those countries. I call that a win-win situation Jo |
Psycho_Honey (Golden Rainbow) | Friday, April 23, 2010 - 09:55 pm "We would therefore be delighted to help you level up more quickly, and save the GCs you are currently spending on WP, by relieving you of those countries. I call that a win-win situation " LMAO, now that is what I call a counter.... Are we related Jo |
Brian The Terrible (White Giant) | Saturday, April 24, 2010 - 12:29 am That is the offer Joe,take it or leave it.I have no problem attacking and stripping countries from your fed to stay in WP.If I have to give you all the countries I may as well lose them in war .I call that a win win for me~! |
Psycho_Honey (Golden Rainbow) | Saturday, April 24, 2010 - 12:48 am Joe??? Jo... What a pickle. |
Jo Salkilld (White Giant) | Saturday, April 24, 2010 - 05:25 am LOL Wendy. I hope for everyone else's sake we're not related. I don't think SimCountry could cope with two of you. Or two of me, for that matter As for Brian's latest offer ... oooh, that's a difficult one. Take it ... leave it ... take it ... leave it ... erm ... I think we'll leave it thank you. Now, can we get on with the war please? Jo |
Jo Salkilld (White Giant) | Sunday, May 2, 2010 - 09:43 pm In a surprise U-turn, Brian has returned all five countries in question, with population and assets intact. WGC will therefore cease boycotts and hostilities against his remaining countries and allow him to concentrate on levelling up. This little episode serves to demonstrate that WGC can and will defend its members' right to play this game peacefully and without interference. It would have been easier for everyone concerned if Brian had respected our request not to attack our friend's countries in the first place, but we are glad that, eventually, reason prevailed and our planet is once more at peace Hugs and respect Jo |
Zeba (Golden Rainbow) | Thursday, May 13, 2010 - 07:23 pm LOL! Nice job Jo |
