Hello,
I am a new full-member player that assumed the presidency of my first country this past weekend, Teruel.

I'm looking forward to developing my nation and interacting with others. If you'd like to act as a mentor, please let me know, because it would really be great to have some general advice and tips at this point.

I have started a Wikia entry for my nation:
http://simcountry.wikia.com/wiki/Teruel

When I originally thought of writing this intro message I was going to say something else like "I'm not looking for a handout", but it appears I am...

My nation just suffered a small earthquake and, due to the lack of industrial equipment on the world market, my people require the following recovery resources. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Fuel Units 5
Cleanup Units 1
Electric Generators 1
Emergency Building Units 4
Field Hospitals 1
Innoculation Units 1
Trucks 2

Again, thanks, and it's good to be in the game.
~Pesco, President of Teruel.

Hey Pesco, and welcome to the game. Firstly, well done for posting on the wiki - Mr Laguna will be very pleased with you.

Im sorry that i cant help you with your disaster, you seem to be on a different world from me, but there are many good players there who may.

If I could offer you one bit of advice, it would be; set your tax to 0% and invite CEO's into your country via the White Giant page of this forum. I know that sounds like a stupid thing to do, but trust me.

I would also like to say, don't go peeing the vets off. They don't like noobs who do that - obviously, try and make friends, don't be in a rush to buy nukes, and make sure you have enough troops when invading a C3 (a country without a president). You cant do it with 250 heavy tanks and a handfull of ammo!!!

Actually, thats five pieces of advice - so you did well out of me!!!

Good luck!!!

hello pesco

i've sent all the requested relief,

stuart is right, this is a great introduction to SC,

as far as peeing on vets go, well, basically just behave well, we all have bad days, and binges, just don't continue to piss people off, and you wont actually piss people off

you are on WG, people here actually try hard to avoid war, but war here, how ever rare, are bloody... as i think we are about to find out...

anyways, thats a different subject

i'd recommend finding a newb friendly fed, their are three that come to mind, on WG, and they all rate in the top 7 of all SC

WGC is a very big and powerfull fed, that seems to me to be newb friendly, teaching their younglings how to behave, and be successfull, i can't say enough good things about them

SFO has been a pillar in SC since their creation, and have done more than their worth in making SC better, they focus on new players, to give them the best chance of success they can...

and my Fed, WPU, we are more interested in serious players, such as your self, (or so it seems,) and sharing strats, but mostly we are focusing on making sure each member has a full say, and can openly, (politely,) state their opinion on anything, anywhere...

even if you aren't quite interested in joining a fed, the magor members of these feds are more than willing to give advice. well i guess i can't really speak for other feds, but they seem open to such things...

other feds can tell you who to speak to, as far as WPU, myself, MoP (man of Peace, @ peaceful nation,) or preferably william miller, at "miller"

now all this is basid on your initial post, should you turn into an "asshat," i retract this statement, but i don't think i'll need to,

shrug if i'm wrong, it wont be the first time today...

LOL. You make it sound like I'm a mafia Godfather or the Devil.

But yes, I am glad you contributed to the Wiki. ;p

Pesco doesn't seem like the kind of person that goes around annoying people... Or are you? ;p

Hi everyone, thanks for the responses.

Stuart: I think I will take your advice about the tax rate. And thanks to the other bits of advice, also.

Josias: Thanks for the aid, and for your advice. It's good to get an overview of who some of the serious Feds are.

Laguna: I was glad to see the Wiki. I think it allows players to add to the role-play aspect of the game, which I like. And

Jaffle: Thanks for the welcome & the assistance.

And to all, in general I do try to avoid being an "asshat". I guess time will tell if I fail & piss off too many people on WG! :)

pesco, that wasn't the run down on the "serious," feds, their are many fed with a few players that pack a big enough punch to humble even the biggest feds, (if you search the forums enough you'll find those examples,) that was just the feds that are open to new players...

anyways, welcome to sc, hope you enjoy the game, wg can be boring at times, but you've joined in the "calm before the storm," things are about to get interesting, buy some popcorn, kick back and watch the show

btw, i'm selling popcorn, milkduds, what ever you like, for a price ofcourse...

Oh, ok, thanks for the clarification. Appreciate that.

I always heard the joke that people think the Air Force should have a bake sale to buy their stuff, but I'm hoping that's not why you're selling the candy... :)
