DavePat (Fearless Blue) | Thursday, June 19, 2008 - 03:22 pm It is my pleasure to announce the formation of a new federation from old federations. First off this is not a merger, but rather a first. A join federation of 2 federations that are SC wide. This is more than just an alliance. The members of the 2 primary federations will be able to find a home on FB if they come, ready and willing to accept them. The 2 federations are SFO and AF. This is not to be construded as a merge or joining of the federations on any other world other than FB. Any alliances between the two or agreements on other worlds is not effected nor to be construded as such. Nor does the leadership for this federation have any authority over the federations on other worlds beyond what the individual players may already have. Welcome State of the Fraternal Order Allied Forces or SFOAF for short. The primary officers of this federation are Madhatter, Adam, Ace, Lasher. Dominator is heading up the academy. This federation is a direct growth of the Cassandra Union which I created at the urging of several players long ago. The CU is the direct Great Grandfather to this new federation and the new federation is given the traditions and history of that and the other federations that grew from it by direct link. A bit of History: The Cassandra Union was created by me as a single player federation. My intent was to accomplish my goals independantly. Of course I had many alliances with other federations and players. 16 states would at one time form this Union. Many players asked to join however all were declined. After a series of wars which involved mostly new players, I was convienced by a couple of players to expand the federation to help them survive this period. After discussions with several vets (Klarina being one of these) I decided to reduce my empire (Cost saving messure) and permit selected serious players into the Union. The Union at this time would include several vetern players but mostly newer players. The promise of the Union was they would be able to pursue their goals free of dictates and protected from interferance. No member would be required to engage in war they did not wish to participate in and if attacked the full power of the Union (in the vets and the alliances) would be brought to bear to secure the peace or punish an agressor. This promise was kept. Never once did the Union back down when its members were threatened or harrassed. Members were able to pick the brains of the senior members for game tips, ideas, solutions to problems. Many of these players would develop good countries and empires. Some time later (6 real months or so) John G on WG was looking to begin expanding the PPW. I was a member of PPW on WG. We had many discussions in the course of a couple of months as we prepared for PPW to come to FB. The CU would provide the core to PPW but with certain restrictions. First among them was the promises to members made by the CU would remain in effect. The CU was a free federation, its members free to choose their level of participation without reprecussion. The basic structure would remain unchanged, therefore when PPW came to FB the old CU was renamed to the PPW naming convention but its branches operated to a large degree independant of the Main PPW. This enabled this part of the fed to not only maintain its promise but fight several wars against players that did not involve the main PPW forming. The part of the federation became responsible for security and training new players as a result of this relationship. When JG left he appointed SamHouston to head up PPW with Steelknife as number 2 and me as the Sec of Defense. This was for the entire PPW federation on all worlds. Shortly after his leaving my CU members were worried about what seemed to be a chaotic series of events and many wanted to start what to me would amount to a civil war. I acted to secure PPW on all worlds until Sam could return from his business trip and Dave and he could hash out what would happen. I agreeded that what ever they decided I would fully support but in the interim I would force a peace and take actions necessary to that end. The result was in a few days PPW was solid and avoided an internal war that may well have torn it apart. Later events would undo all this effort as those familar with that era will remember. Those later events would lead to the creation of SFO. Although I know Sam and Dave intended it to be a brand new federation, its roots on FB continued to be from the Cassandra Union, the members of the branches under my chairmanship and those of a couple of other members were from the Union (yes surprisingly by this point few members of the Union had left the game and only one had left the federation to pursue their own goals). This made the SFO the grandchild of the CU in that the ideals from the CU continured forward. Now with the joining of these two fine federations on FB it is time for me to pass on the mantle of leadership for the Union to a member that in my opinion embodies the spirit, the honor, the wisdom as well as the hopes that formed this federation to beging with. To Madhatter and the rest of the team I pass on these ideals: 1. The Union is not a democracy nor is it a dictatorship. Members are free to pursue their own objectives and goals within the guidelines and general spirit of the goals and aims of the union. 2. The Union is dedicated to peaceful growth and prosperiety of its individual members. 3. No member can be required to become involved in a war, nor will any member attack another member of the Union. 4. Members will be given aid and assistance by other members. This can but is not limited to, advice, questions, strategies, direct aid, or other such assistance as may from time to time be needed or asked for. 5. All the power and influance of the Union shall be brought to bear by the chair to protect members of the federation from agression by other player(s). The moto of the Union and hence all the children of the Union is "Peace is our Profession, War is but a Hobby" (Yes the old SAC moto it seemed fitting) The ideals of the federation: Officium, Veneration, Terra, Fidelitas (Its latin look it up if you dont know what it means) The goal of the federation: This we Shall Defend In passing the torch I have high hopes for the future of the SFOAF and for our world in general. To its members new and old I merely ask you live up to the concepts of Duty, Honor, Country. I also thank each and everyone of you who trusted me, had faith in me and my leadership, through the good times as well as the bad. I trust I did not let you down! DavePat - HisRoyalMousety |
sfo Treasurer (White Giant) | Thursday, June 19, 2008 - 03:45 pm I bless this union on Fearless Blue and will always be available for assistance from all of it's members and officers. Hail SFOAF!! Treasurer President - The States of the Fraternal Order |
Madhatter (Fearless Blue) | Friday, June 20, 2008 - 12:27 pm Dave Pat we appreciate all that you have done for so many and so much. It has Truly been an Honor to have worked with you. If you ever need our assistance it is but a message away. We will work hard to continue on the long lineage and honor those who have come before us. Aswell to honor the name of Allied Forces here on FB. Treasure, i appreciate the kind words and look forward to working more with you in the future. I sent you a request on your messenger. We set forth on a new begining holding onto the highest of ideals. Knowing that the path before us is long, dark and twisted. We must work together to light the fire's that will guide us. The higher horizons are far but not out of reach. I dont think Dave Pat could have put forth a better grouping of 5 ideal's. These we will take to heart and inspire to those who join. Reaching out to others to build a community of friends and compadres. Because when it comes down to it. Its the people we meet that truly makes the game. Also i wanted to make an addition to the officers list. No Problem will also be a Officer. As of now we have 4 Branch Officers. One for each of the 4 western continents. Recruiting will begin in full force and some of you may even be contacted. When demand rises we will expand into the east. SFOAF is a open organization with larger roles open to all who wish it and show to be competent. We will help newer players tackle the sharp learning curves that is simcountry and give them a home. Look for more details in the coming days!!! Madhatter aka Drakos Dragonia Chairman of SFO Allied Forces on FB |
Danneh Turner (Fearless Blue) | Wednesday, July 2, 2008 - 01:06 pm Supergiant feds are not good for the game imo, especially on the war world. Left unchecked, such things can get a stranglehold on a world and make it univiting for the casual player to start up a country and actually enjoy having a little war - fear of action from "supergiantfed" paralysing their gameplay. Particularly concerning is an alliance of two feds "on one world only" to attempt to create such an entity. Thus I urge SFO and AF to de-merge (sorry, de-join). As noted in another thread, I am not pleased about SFOAF eastward expansion plans and measures have been taken to keep my doorstep clean. If this fed elects not to de-join, then my line in the sand is drawn on the eastern coast of pimpadelikville (i.e. the easternmost point of Paova Major). I am not presumptuous enough to say any countries east of there "will die", but it is fair to say that the welcoming committee wont be carrying palm leaves. For the neutrals reading this thinking "Danneh's on crack", I urge you to go watch Star Wars I-III and observe the 'birth' of the empire. Unless you want to go around wearing a hood and whispering "these are not the droids you're looking for", you'll want to get in early too ;) |
Quastar (Fearless Blue) | Wednesday, July 2, 2008 - 03:36 pm (After reading Danneh's post, Quastar pulled out the ancient trunk under his bed and start searching for his light saber that was given to him by his master)... |
DavePat (Fearless Blue) | Wednesday, July 2, 2008 - 05:45 pm If this wasnt so funny I might just take it seriously. Feds large, small, medium, important unimportant have existed in this game for years. Few feds have been formed purely for war, profit, gain at the expense of others and frankly none hve succeeded. As I posted to introduce this fedit is nothing more than the continuation of a long line and history of a federation and an experiment in a joint fed each with their own traditions and standards, which seem to be mutual. Furthermore it is here to show newer players and older ones as well the true value of federation. Lastly I have seen a lot of players come and go say I control this region or that region and encroachment will be reason for war. Frankly this is presumtuous to the extreme if we wish to speak about presumtuousness. FB is a free world any player or group of players may place their holdings where ever they desire in spite of the ramblings of a single or group of players. Draw all the lines you want to, they are meaningless in the long run. |
sfo Treasurer (White Giant) | Thursday, July 3, 2008 - 12:58 am Drawing lines on FB. What a pompous ass. |
Quetzalcoatl God of War (White Giant) | Thursday, July 3, 2008 - 03:29 am Danneh's on crack. |
Barney Rubble (Little Upsilon) | Thursday, July 3, 2008 - 05:21 am \pees a circle around yorba. Mine, Mine I say! Look I drew a circle! |
Danneh Turner (Fearless Blue) | Thursday, July 3, 2008 - 09:28 am heheh, thanks Sam and Barney for reminding me not to take this all too seriously. Treasurer, come on mate, play along a bit, descending to name-calling isn't very becoming of you and I'm sure you can do better. I note that no SFOAF peeps have denied their plan for world domination yet - maybe the silence speaks volumes! |
Adam (Fearless Blue) | Thursday, July 3, 2008 - 03:52 pm There are 2 competing strains present on FB, just as there has been in RL. They are civilization and barbarian - builders and destroyers. In the game there are those who enjoy building up their empires economically and militarily, and those who enjoy the thrill of the fight. We have mutually exclusive goals. A war for my empire has different consequences than for others. For me months of effort may be lost in an evening. For the barbarians raping my country, it is there joy. As neutral observers looking on, the question becomes what do you want FB to look like. A world of player raiding or one were war mongering noobs are dealt with. Adam |
Danneh Turner (Fearless Blue) | Thursday, July 3, 2008 - 05:37 pm Quote from the documentation : "Fearless blue is the war world and has different settings that encourage the war game." I disagree fundamentally with the black and white picture of builder vs destroyer, but for the sake of argument, why do 'builders' set up on FB? |
Iceberg Slim | Thursday, July 3, 2008 - 06:54 pm To make people like you ask questions |
Adam (Fearless Blue) | Thursday, July 3, 2008 - 08:39 pm Turner, You build so that you can fight longer. I am trying to build an empire that is a net producer of GC. Once that happens, clowns like the ones messing with me now will get toasted. Its a gamble to build the economy first. We will see how it works out. Adam |
Danneh Turner (Fearless Blue) | Thursday, July 3, 2008 - 09:26 pm Ahh, high risk strategy, I see! Thanks for the answer. |
andycl (Fearless Blue) | Thursday, July 3, 2008 - 10:34 pm well these CLOWNS as you refer to us have fought real players before,,hows your c3 thing working out for you now??? Thanks for your, build so you can fight longer theory, quite entertaining as you find my spelling, lol. |
Madhatter (Fearless Blue) | Thursday, July 3, 2008 - 11:12 pm Look we never said we where trying to take over the world. The fact is since the start of us putting it together we have done nothing to cause conflicts. We have contacted other feds. Looking for better relations. All we try to do is help out newer players looking to learn. It is you who has been threatening us not the other way around. I have always tryed to keep good relations with everyone. The fact that you have bad blood with the feds of the past. You havent even given us a chance to work out better relations. |
Iceberg Slim (Golden Rainbow) | Thursday, July 3, 2008 - 11:24 pm I'd have to back Madhatter on this one. Ever since I came to FB at the behest of Dan, all I have seen is communications for and meant to help the newer players learn the game and how to act. I am in the controlling headquarters federation of SFOAF and I have seen nothing that would indicate the direct leaders of this federation are interested in world domination, or even regional domination. I have seen no discussion about who to attack, only who to talk to in order to bolster relations with other feds and let the better side of SFOAF to shine. Bottom line is, I believe it is your fed that has the alterior motives. You were the ones that brought up world domination, nowhere have we done so. Take the blue pill. It helps in time of paranoid delusions. Slim. |
WildEyes (Fearless Blue) | Thursday, July 3, 2008 - 11:44 pm Lol... |
Danneh Turner (Fearless Blue) | Friday, July 4, 2008 - 12:33 am I'm not sure how many conversations are going on here. I'm the person feeling threatened by SFOAF world domination. It is due to this part of madhatter's post : "As of now we have 4 Branch Officers. One for each of the 4 western continents. Recruiting will begin in full force and some of you may even be contacted. When demand rises we will expand into the east." There is one other player in any of the federations my countries are in, and he has not made any recent forum postings (as far as I've seen) or declared war on any active countries. Andy is not part of any of my feds. I have heard it said that "the enemy of my enemy is my friend", so I guess our objectives are in some kind of alignment at the moment. I don't have any beef with Adam other than generic SFOAF membership. Hopefully that's cleared that up. Anyway, I have another question for SFOAF peeps .. why did you feel the need to join together - what was wrong with existing as you were, especially as your arrangement apparently exists only on this world? |
Iceberg Slim (White Giant) | Friday, July 4, 2008 - 12:41 am The SFOAF alliance is open to all worlds, and is on WG atm also, just not in name. We have a common defense treaty with SFO that applies to all worlds. This was Davepat's idea to mesh them name wise on FB. Besides, we have every right to be anywhere we wish to be, as do you. Why all the hostility? |
Danneh Turner (Fearless Blue) | Friday, July 4, 2008 - 12:54 am That's a direct contradiction of DavePat's post Chris, although I recognise that things can change since posts were, erm, posted. What better reason for hostility than to resist a fed expanding to all regions of all worlds? |
Iceberg Slim (Golden Rainbow) | Friday, July 4, 2008 - 01:14 am There is no intention to do that. Seems to me your paranoia builds with each post. We have cooperative intentions, all of your intentions seem to be hostile. And I know you're ex- PPW, and I can also imagine you're not too fond with the way your beloved JG was treated. Maybe that is your reason for your hostility? Honestly, if it is, you are either sadly misinformed, or did not read the forums too well. JG was and is a scumbag. Plenty of people that want to exterminate him upon his arrival. He has said many things and done even more to warrant this, as the majority of this community does not wish his presence here. And by the way. You completely contradict yourself with the argument of world domination when you're a former member of a fed that did just that. Or must I remind you of the five world "Wrath of God" tour? Sadly, I think you're a very intelligent person, but your habit of contradicting yourself is bothersome when it comes to speaking to you. So I won't. Slim. |
Danneh Turner (Fearless Blue) | Friday, July 4, 2008 - 02:13 am Well, you're way off target there I'm afraid. I don't know anything about PPW, JG or a 'Wrath of God' tour. |
DavePat (Fearless Blue) | Friday, July 4, 2008 - 02:40 pm There is no contradiction. Frankly I am getting pretty damn tired of words being put into people's mouths so you can justify fighting a war. The people I have seen or should I say person saying domination is the one saying this is the line and anyone beyond it has to have my blessing. Furthermore the supposed purpose to you waging war is to show your superiority to others and to dominate. SFOAF is not a war waging federation. And it is no paper tiger. Next, you people need to really start taking a look as to who is on FB. It is billed as the war world but somewhere along the line you missed something major about the world and ya had better figure it out. Get a reality check you are attracting the attention of too many other people with this crap my message logs are full of it. Whatever you call yourselves/yourself you are not looking very good in this matter. |
Iceberg Slim (White Giant) | Friday, July 4, 2008 - 08:49 pm Rest your head Danneh, no need to fib. You don't think myself and my associates can remember back that far, but we do. No worries, it's fine. I would want to denounce my membership in that fed too. |
sfo Treasurer (White Giant) | Friday, July 4, 2008 - 10:14 pm Danneh, Dude, you confuse expansion into other continents as a precursor to world domination. It has nothing to do with wanting to dominate anything. SFO stood up to other federations that tried to keep people out of their territories or demanded them to join or die. SFO will always stand up to tyrants such as yourself. You or anyone else for that matter does not say where a player can play. Do not assume that colonization as an attempt to dominate a world is what is happening here. That is far from the truth. If you want to try to be Manny on FB, you will be dealt with in the same fashion. Stand down unless you want real trouble. As DavePat has said, you are only drawing attention to yourself, and FB is entirely the wrong world to have attention deficit disorder. Time will tell whether or not you can take constructive criticism or not. Your survival on FB might well depend on it. SFOAF has not threatened anyone with the expansion as there is no claim on any lands by any entities. If you are foolish enough to lay claim to a continent, then you will find out the same way others have, that you have erred in your ways. Shut up or declare. T |
Danneh Turner (Fearless Blue) | Saturday, July 5, 2008 - 01:09 am @DavePat - you seem to be the one putting words into people's mouths, not me. You have completely mis-interpreted my actions and intentions. SFOAF has proclaimed its desire to spread throughout the world, coupled by reassurances that "everything is peaceful". Dominance is always abused, you should not seek it if you are truly peaceful. @Slim - You are on the wrong train, in the wrong country, heading in the wrong direction. @sfoT - Did you read that in preview before you posted it? How can I be the tyrant when I'm fighting the tyranny! Delude yourself that you're the "good guy" all you like, it worked for Vader! |
Iceberg Slim (Fearless Blue) | Saturday, July 5, 2008 - 01:14 am You're doing nothing but portray yourself as the tyrant. I think it will be in everyone's best interest to not reply anymore. Slim. |
lasher (Fearless Blue) | Saturday, July 5, 2008 - 01:27 am First Love the star wars reference Lots of talk on this subject by some very good speakers most better than me. But I am looking at the actions that have accrued not the talk. I Look at who started this war and why. Who was the aggressor and the cheater? Now just Who is it deluding themselves? This is why I fight, Why will you fight and for what or who? V/R Lasher, Arion Empire. |
Danneh Turner (Fearless Blue) | Saturday, July 5, 2008 - 01:45 am Hey lasher, There seem to be lots of wars declared right now, but the only one I'm involved in was started by a dude called "AlfredTheGreat1900". From reading other threads I deduce that he thinks I'm "one of andycl's cronies". I'm trying to think of a SW reference for Alfred .. Bobba Fett seems closest right now *cheeky wink* Danneh |
sfo Treasurer (White Giant) | Saturday, July 5, 2008 - 02:03 am Future FB Newspaper Headline: Star Wars nerd comes to FB to play with his light saber and gets his ass kicked. |
lasher | Saturday, July 5, 2008 - 02:14 am My 7 and 9year old have a few light sabers you guys could use. Altho the 9 year old will prob want a hefty rental fee. @Danneh talk to Alfred if you feel it was a mistake he is not in my Fed but I have found him to be fair to deal with. V/R Qui-Gon Jinn AKA. lasher |
Noproblem (Fearless Blue) | Sunday, July 6, 2008 - 12:02 pm Danneh Turner asked: what was wrong with existing as you were, especially as your arrangement apparently exists only on this world? You perhaps missed DavepPats' first post in this subject. His actions, for better or worse, precluded staying as we were, despite the fact that it was better, IMHO. |
DavePat (Fearless Blue) | Sunday, July 6, 2008 - 12:31 pm Better or worse did not factor into my decission. Game advancement and something different not tried before was. I also knew certain baggage would come into play. I also know that eventually as this federation on FB develops and grows it will exemplify the best of all the federations that spawned it. People being what they are though will see all sorts of other motivations in things other people do. For better or worse SFOAF is here and it will be staying. We will see in time what happens. My expectations were summed up: The ideals of the federation: Officium, Veneration, Terra, Fidelitas (Its latin look it up if you dont know what it means) |
