Weyland | Wednesday, October 13, 2021 - 08:16 pm I've just been looking at the jumbled confusion of federations on FB. The big 3 feds, 2 LDI, 2 Freedom and NSA are all linked by empires who attach themselves to more than one of these federations, with at least one player being a member of all three. An alliance is formed for the mutual benefit of all member states. With shared strategic goals being generally the defining factor. Following this logic is it fair to assume all these feds are essentially one large federation? Or have we come to the farcical situation in which a player could actually find him or her self at war with themselves should hostilities break out between two feds that he or she is a member of? |
Lord Mndz | Wednesday, October 13, 2021 - 08:38 pm wrong assumption - NSA is friendly but has no allies. |
E O | Wednesday, October 13, 2021 - 09:03 pm Did you have a question about this besides "could people theoretically get weird war treaties activated?" This isn't an overly complicated situation from a bird's eye view. Players seeking defensive security often make allies with players playing in their region but outside their federation or reach out to contacts who are outside of their main federation. Given that those three feds provide the most defensive support on FB, it's not surprising that players seek that out. You're probably better off asking the specific players in question what they're up to. In general, none of those feds are particularly friendly with each other. An LDI member has fought Freedom members several times in the last 12 months or so during the time you were away from the game, Weyland, so allied the feds most assuredly are not. Side note, you appear to be centered much further west than usual! Some PLAYERS are friendly to multiple feds, but there aren't existing, defined, or even overly friendly relationships between the feds themselves. Diplomacy is important and often underutilized by players who want to avoid conflict with big neighbors. |
Weyland | Wednesday, October 13, 2021 - 10:07 pm Who was invovled in the LDI Freedom war? |
E O | Thursday, October 14, 2021 - 02:25 am There was another scuffle afterward between me and a former Freedom member a few months later due to diplomatic relations with a third party, but this was the bigger engagement: https://www.simcountry.com/discus/messages/3711/28457.html?1608252054 A spinoff war started with Chadwick Bozeman fighting Freedom members as well, though that one was also over quite quickly. **Addendum to my prior post - I have found Northern Star Alliance to be a friendly federation, and to my knowledge they have been on good terms with LDI and LDI members since before I returned to the game. My prior comments about relations was meant to indicate no alliances, particular treaties, etc exist between the federations. |
rob72966 | Thursday, October 14, 2021 - 08:03 am Those little scuffles between us was just a waist of time. I look at you as one of the prime players in the game. Nothing but respect. Good hunting Rob |
Johanas Bilderberg | Sunday, October 17, 2021 - 04:05 pm LDI is friendly to all, allied to none. We wish nothing more than to peacefully grow cocaine and hookers on Lacerta. However if the need arises we will literally blot out the sun with our helicopters and interceptors. Hail the Pinktator. |
rob72966 | Sunday, October 17, 2021 - 09:57 pm Reads like your on def quite a bit. For some odd reason I do not think that's true. lol. Sounds like I would of liked Lacerta in my youth. Rob |
