a9fc8yt3kd1 (Fearless Blue) | Wednesday, January 18, 2012 - 08:53 am Some time ago, I learned that the vast majority of the commodities on the Fearless Blue world market were vastly over stocked. Because of this, many corporations which would normally be very profitable, such as electricity producing corporations, were struggling very badly. That was several days ago, and the situation doesn't appear to have improved. Can someone please explain to me what is causing this? |
Crafty (Fearless Blue) | Thursday, January 19, 2012 - 07:12 pm It's the knock on effect of The Great Cheese Shortage. |

Bad_Friday (Fearless Blue) | Friday, January 20, 2012 - 02:39 am Its a nasty business when youve got alot of electricity crackers and no cheese i tells ya. |
Gothamloki (Kebir Blue) | Friday, January 20, 2012 - 09:03 pm It's the result of over-production by C3 state corps. In an effort to "stabilize" world economies, C3s are set to automatically build new corps in industries with shortages at the moment. C3s however use much fewer products than a country with a prez. Because there are so few president-lead countries and so many C3s on FB, you have a world economy flooded with C3 products and not enough consumers to use them all. There are only three solutions, the first of which is likely not to occur: 1: The GMs adjust or cancel C3 automated new corp builds on FB. 2: More presidents claim and run countries. (Increasing overall demand.) 3: The current presidents on FB go on a war-rampage for the explicit purpose of destroying as many C3 state corps as possible. (A major C3-corp house-cleaning.) |
Gothamloki (Kebir Blue) | Friday, January 20, 2012 - 09:06 pm I vote for number 3. (my precision bombers are fueling up...) |
SuperSoldierRCP (Fearless Blue) | Saturday, January 21, 2012 - 02:02 am Even then Goth nothing would happen you finish the war and the game auto makes more. Countries have to have a minimum number of corps so news don't walk into a ruined nation. Current only 1 in 10nations is a president and thats not good. All the extra goods are killing players. If there was more diversity in the planets players would move there or have reasons to. Little Upsilon- Makes 25% more space products White Giant- Corporations need 10% less workers and birthrates are increased. Fearless Blue- 100% weapons production Things like that. And yes they need to close some the C3 or atleast reduce there production to 90% that way they make fewer products, use the same amount, and it would pull the market down making it a bit more red |
Gothamloki (Little Upsilon) | Saturday, January 21, 2012 - 02:41 am Dang it! (de-fueling precision bombers...) Well, we (as concerned presidents of FB) need to encourage other players to set-up shop on FB then. (It's the only player-led action I can think of.) I'm maxed at 10 countries already, otherwise I'd colonize more. (GMs should lift the country limit on FB, or at least up it.) |
Madhatter 2.0 (Fearless Blue) | Saturday, January 21, 2012 - 03:17 am Fearless Blue is definitely a ghost town. There's only 610 players on here. Thats not even half the 2nd lowest player count of 1467. White Giant has the most with 3053. It might be the biggest world but FB only has 200 or so less countries in actual size. We need to bring some of those people over. I remember when there was players in every region. Ah the good old days. |
Kitsune (Little Upsilon) | Saturday, January 21, 2012 - 05:48 am In fact there is no country limit. Government costs just rise steadily after 10 (and get ridiculous after 20). At one point I think I had like 12 countries and it wasn't too bad... |
Gothamloki (Little Upsilon) | Saturday, January 21, 2012 - 04:52 pm I thought you suffered revolts once you hit 11 countries. I figured that was the rule on all worlds. Happened to me a few real-months ago on LU. Does the rule not apply on FB, or has it been changed? |
nix001 (Fearless Blue) | Saturday, January 21, 2012 - 05:19 pm Since they have made it less expensive on FB to fight a C3 compared to the other worlds, I'm guessing making money on FB is favored towards war instead of economy? Also....when you declare on a C3 at say war level 6, the C3's population increases by millions and it builds new corps to compensate. Now say I dont continue with the war, how long does the C3 keep its level 6 population level for? (maybe the increase in C3 corps due to new population levels has something to do with this over supply too?) |
DuGalle (Fearless Blue) | Saturday, February 4, 2012 - 10:32 pm I've noticed something unusual that can help reduce the scale of this problem. I don't know if anyone else has encountered it but when you conquer a C3 and change the automation so that it doesn't build anymore corporations, it doesn't build anymore corporations even after you cancel the country. That can help reduce C3 overproduction and the craziness of the Fearless Blue economy. |
a9fc8yt3kd1 (Fearless Blue) | Sunday, February 5, 2012 - 08:31 pm @ DuGalle: Interesting ... |
Madhatter 2.0 (Fearless Blue) | Sunday, February 5, 2012 - 10:21 pm Yeah i have noticed that too. Ive got a few that wont build corps |
KHxC (Fearless Blue) | Monday, February 6, 2012 - 12:37 am So in other words, you can neuter a C3 from building corps? Haha. |
Gothamloki (Golden Rainbow) | Monday, February 6, 2012 - 02:25 am Bingo! Many thanks, DuGalle! |
DuGalle (Fearless Blue) | Monday, February 6, 2012 - 04:32 am No problem. I got a ring of C3s with only 2 or 3 private corps, it helps with raiding. |
