Váli (Fearless Blue) | Monday, January 12, 2009 - 06:37 am The invitation to join us for drinks was sent to interested parties. Our invitations were joyfully accepted. Its best to drink with fellows whose company you enjoy. It stops the water souring. However sometimes when you drink too much you stumble into innocent bystanders. Hopefully they forgive you and guide you back to the bar. Others however lay in wait and prey on the drinkers who drink too much. Which are you Jason? |
shane vataja (Fearless Blue) | Monday, January 12, 2009 - 07:03 am u either get 4 or be prepared to 5 cause i got all the 8,9's ill need to do this all night with a few 1/2's or any combination of them mixxed in. now balls in your court do your dirtiest. cause we have all the 3's we need |
Princess FluffyBritches (Fearless Blue) | Monday, January 12, 2009 - 09:48 am Most poetic Vali, i'm impressed. Almost quintissentially Hannibal Lecter'esque. Judging by your prior post, it must be assumed you are rather into the finer delicacies of alcohol, a common interest between us perhaps? We should hook up for dinner sometime, i hear they do good liver in Rome and i always have been quite partial to a full-bodied Chianti. ThtThtThtThtTht But onto more serious concerns, I remain wondering what the justification for declaring on my country was? |
Váli (Fearless Blue) | Monday, January 12, 2009 - 03:31 pm I think your table may have been stumbled into..... blurred vision, a slight unsteadiness of foot...these things happen I'm afraid..hopefully you are not wearing a white shirt so we can clean any accidental spills up, and get back to drinking with our friends at the bar. I shall talk to the barman and see if he has a cloth to clean things up. |
ShcyzMattiCa (Kebir Blue) | Monday, January 12, 2009 - 04:39 pm WINE YES. LIVER???? eeeewwwl |

ShcyzMattiCa (Little Upsilon) | Monday, January 12, 2009 - 07:20 pm "But onto more serious concerns, I remain wondering what the justification for declaring on my country was?" You Needed it. Anyone could figure that out. Its FB. . . need there be any "reason" that satisfies YOU? "Nope, War IS apart of this game"~ Wildeyes |
WildEyes (Little Upsilon) | Monday, January 12, 2009 - 08:27 pm Indeed. FB = WOAR! I'm presently scouting nice places to register at. |

ShcyzMattiCa (Kebir Blue) | Tuesday, January 13, 2009 - 12:12 am Jack there was a very clear warning on the general thread concerning conduct abuses, please adjust your language, thx. |
Stuart Taylor (Little Upsilon) | Tuesday, January 13, 2009 - 01:14 am Wendy, your not really trying to get players banned are you? Just play the game and stop whinging. As you said to me earlier!!! |
Váli (Fearless Blue) | Tuesday, January 13, 2009 - 01:35 am You know how these things go....your a little tipsy, you mistake a stranger for someone you know. You decided to go say help but stumble on your way over and fall into the table. Drinks get spilt, people get angry. You say sorry, but his mate pushes you. Your friends come and back you up. The other guy says dont worry mate it was an accident..but your mates and his mates are all pushing and shoving each other. Then a punch gets thrown..glasses smash everybody gets smacked.... Now we just have to wait for the police to show up and throw us all in the can to sober up.......we do have a sim police dont we? |
ShcyzMattiCa (Little Upsilon) | Tuesday, January 13, 2009 - 01:38 am Stuart be quiet, If I wanted to ask for a ban, it would be addressed to the gms in an email, not on the forums. I asked for a language adjustment, Not a ban, I am highly in favor of Declaring at the slightest hint of hostility, not ban spam. Thx for your comments, now go where you are needed. Ooops, but then you wouldn't have anywhere to go now would you? Well hang out here, and be quiet, |
Stuart Taylor (Little Upsilon) | Tuesday, January 13, 2009 - 01:53 am Quote:If I wanted to ask for a ban, it would be addressed to the gms in an email, not on the forums
Like you did with Ameche, eh? You said exactly the same thing to me when I tried to say less personal insults earlier. So, its OK for you to do it, but not me? OK, I know what your really like now. |
ShcyzMattiCa (Little Upsilon) | Tuesday, January 13, 2009 - 02:04 am I know what i am really like too, whats your point. Nothing, okay moving on. NEXT!! |
Stuart Taylor (Little Upsilon) | Tuesday, January 13, 2009 - 02:09 am Do you want me to post quotes of your behaviour tonight, cause I will if you want me to. Otherwise, shut it n00b. |
ShcyzMattiCa (Fearless Blue) | Tuesday, January 13, 2009 - 02:25 am you can post what ya want dummy, i will do as I like thx. Maybe when you are important, you may then ASK me to be quiet, n00b. |
Jack Frost (Little Upsilon) | Tuesday, January 13, 2009 - 02:49 am Wendy darling if you would be so kind as to take notice to the disclaimer that I put there. |
ShcyzMattiCa (Fearless Blue) | Tuesday, January 13, 2009 - 02:59 am I noticed. Still clean it up, its not cute at all. I thought you were a bit kewl jack, but I can see your uni boy age shining thru. That may cut it on campus, but its certainly not here. Thx |
Váli (Fearless Blue) | Tuesday, January 13, 2009 - 03:18 am If only the people would except the offer of a beer we could avoid nights in the cell...but alas somebody always lets you down and insists on fighting. Sorry dub I tried but failed. |
Aleksander (Little Upsilon) | Tuesday, January 13, 2009 - 04:02 am I am not on FB, but the I just brewed up a lovely little Belgian Blonde Style Ale with some Trappist yeast that I rescued from a bottle of real, unpastuerized beer. Should be ready for kegging in about 2 weeks and drinking shortly thereafter. Alcohol content about 7% and plenty of fresh hops to make you feel happy. I'll provide the beer, you provide the stories and if life is exciting enough, maybe I will come play. |
Váli (Fearless Blue) | Tuesday, January 13, 2009 - 01:04 pm Trappist beer is good..... |
Princess FluffyBritches (Fearless Blue) | Tuesday, January 13, 2009 - 03:48 pm I would like to congratulate the 3M in order of their victory over my nation Wrath III, on FB. Whilst the nation started the war with no offensive weapons, and was configured to be sold and not fought with, 3M have shown good cohesion and teamwork in breaking it down. Overall the experience has been refreshing, and i am grateful for it - long have i yearned to once again feel the 'threat' at the prospect of losing a nation, something which regarding my empire on LU is, shall we say... improbable. Thankyou for your role in this, and also for the offer of peace before war started, it was most gentlemanly. This in fact, is the first war i have ever lost and has most certainly been the highlight of my 'Sim-Year' so far, and i hope to 'play' in this fashion more in the future. Good Day and most certainly Good Play, Regards, a rather happy Dub P.s. And now i don't have to sell the damn thing, been trying to for months! |
Princess FluffyBritches (Fearless Blue) | Tuesday, January 13, 2009 - 04:05 pm I would also like to apologise to Shane who i have attacked verbally a couple of times recently in game and on the forums. Mostly out of humour to be truthful, but un called for all the same. |
Váli (Fearless Blue) | Tuesday, January 13, 2009 - 05:07 pm Dub when you return to FB you will find the 3ms ready to offer you assistance if you require any. Contrary to popular opinion we are a nice bunch really. A bit yin yang in nature, but we usually find a happy medium. It is a shame we only met due to the war. Maybe you can join in one of the 3ms online drinking sessions one evening. |
andy Clark (Fearless Blue) | Tuesday, January 13, 2009 - 10:40 pm Re-Evil Evil Monkey. Thanks for the fun there,it was to cool chasing around sf units.Over 6 hours later she is yours, thanks for the fun again. Regards,,, andy |
John R (Fearless Blue) | Wednesday, January 14, 2009 - 04:13 pm O Fortuna, velut luna statu variabilis, semper crescis aut decrescis; vita detestabilis nunc obdurat et tunc curat ludo mentis aciem, egestatem, potestatem dissolvit ut glaciem. Notice that is O Fortuna and not In Taberna Quando Sumus. |

Shaler (Fearless Blue) | Wednesday, January 14, 2009 - 08:50 pm O Fortune, like the moon of ever changing state, you are always waxing or waning; hateful life now is brutal, now pampers our feelings with its game; poverty, power, it melts them like ice. Fate, savage and empty, you are a turning wheel, your position is uncertain, your favour is idle and always likely to disappear; covered in shadows and veiled you bear upon me too; now my back is naked through the sport of your wickedness. The chance of prosperity and of virtue is not now mine; whether willing or not, a man is always liable for Fortune's service. At this hour without delay touch the strings! Because through luck she lays low the brave, all join with me in lamentation! Fortunae rota volvitur; descendo minoratus; alter in altum tollitur; nimis exaltatus rex sedet in vertice caveat ruinam! nam sub axe legimus Hecubam reginam. |
Shaler (Fearless Blue) | Wednesday, January 14, 2009 - 08:55 pm In Taberna Quando Sumus = When we are in the tavern |
John R (Fearless Blue) | Wednesday, January 14, 2009 - 09:17 pm I bemoan the wounds of Fortune with weeping eyes, for the gifts she made me she perversely takes away. It is written in truth, that she has a fine head of hair, but, when it comes to seizing an opportunity she is bald. On Fortune's throne I used to sit raised up, crowned with the many-coloured flowers of prosperity; though I may have flourished happy and blessed, now I fall from the peak deprived of glory. The wheel of Fortune turns; I go down, demeaned; another is raised up; far too high up sits the king at the summit - let him fear ruin! for under the axis is written Queen Hecuba. I consider O Fortuna superior, however. Besides being a tremendous piece of choral work, it is a must amazing poem both in form and content: A 4 A 4 B 7 C 4 C 4 B 7 D 4 D 4 E 7 F 4 F 4 E 7 That's rhyme scheme and scansion for O Fortuna, by the way. |
Sir SmokesAlot (Fearless Blue) | Thursday, January 15, 2009 - 06:40 am Thanks for the allnighter dub. I had fun. I shall move to lu and build a great nation of pot smokers there also. |
Jo Jo Hun (Fearless Blue) | Sunday, January 18, 2009 - 08:58 am I lost Hunnish Pride the other night. Fair fight, my fault for an extremely poorly timed dec. I arrived home when the WI was 3.46. Those involved know that it would have been a more interesting battle had I returned earlier. Dec timing is a weakness of mine. Future opponents, rest assured, I probably will never get it right, and it will also never occur to me to get a wireless laptop to use at times during the workday. My opponents were smart to take it when and how they did. I was impressed with Laguna's conduct throughout the war. This is the fifth time I have lost a main. I've lost mains to Chetoos/Clam (Bad Lagerland), Sam and Barney (Bad Lagerland), Andy and Kaine (Bad Lagerland), Wild Eyes (Walden Pond), and now Jason, Laguna and Yankee (Hunnish Pride). I need a break. Note and necessary ego boost: each time I came back to build a stronger empire. Not buy, build. All the stuff in my empire has come from my economies and from plunder, fair and square. Recommendations for a better FB game: 1. WP should be more expensive for large countries. Its cost should be proportional to the value of the country. Larger countries benefit more from WP, since more value is being protected. 1% of the county's nominal value per month would leave small countries paying 1 gc, but large ones 10gc...enough to force them to use it with discretion. 2. There should be a truce feature, a truce treaty. Peace treaties are useless for ending a war. There should be a mechanism for setting up a proposed truce, and all parties signing it should be prevented by the game from firing upon other signers, for the specified period of time. 3. There should be more opportunity for economic warfare. It would make game strategy more interesting. Any economic warfare in the current game seems pointless. 4. Occupation of portions of countries, where the occupier plunders a portion of the country's earnings and/or assets, would be a good feature. 5. When a player is down to one country his forces should fight stronger, and stronger as WI drops. Exponentially, so that it would be practically impossible to actually take someone's last country and take them out of the game. 6. Along with normal WP there should be an 8 hour, daily temporary WP for every player, when the player cannot fire and cannot be fired upon. It should be posted on the country's home page, and should be difficult for a player to change suddenly. Everyone sleeps, many work. Those who sleep and work shy away from wars because it is difficult to actively defend their empires 24/7. All these suggestions are to lower the stakes of wars, so that players are more inclined to enter into them. C3 fighting gets boring, fighting an inactive player's country is ok, the leadup to active player fights is great but actually battling a player who isn't online is just ok. Player vs player with both actually playing at the same time is the best, and there is too little of it. 7) Economics: the stock market stinks. Corps are too small, and there are too many of them, and their market value is not affected much by supply and demand. All the excitement of the real stock market is missing. No one logs on to check how "Hope Valley Household Products" is doing today. There should be an investable entity intermediate in size between Enterprise and Corporation. Either a Conglomerate, a mega corp that can buy and sell other corps, or a Hedge Fund. If everyone could open and manage their own hedge fund, a few would, and a handful would make large funds that other players would regularly want to buy into or sell out of. A hedge fund is an unregulated investment fund that can buy or sell whatever assets the manager wants: shares of corps, population, countries, cash, loans, shares of other hedge funds. The manager may choose to specialize. They'd be followed closely, the hedge fund managers would be under political pressure to buy or sell certain assets, and war considerations would be more complicated...you may find that bombing a country would be bombing your own or a friend's assets. Game strategy would be richer and more interesting. |
John R | Sunday, January 18, 2009 - 04:55 pm In which manner did I impress you? |
Jo Jo Hun (Fearless Blue) | Sunday, January 18, 2009 - 07:01 pm You played your cards close to the vest. You made a few objectives clear as things went along. Your actions toward achieving those objectives were not predictable. Forum posts, in-game messages I am aware of, military actions...all consistent, but not foolishly consistent. You got, I hope, the satisfaction of playing the war game a bit. You seemed to use force appropriately to achieve objectives. Forceful but not vindictive. And the Carmina Burana references hit the mark. |
Barney Rubble | Wednesday, January 21, 2009 - 02:58 am Your buldge, L. Jo Jo, you are made for FB. your not affraid to fight and risk. this is good. makes the game more fun to play and watch. |
