Marcus White | Thursday, December 21, 2017 - 03:34 pm I've been playing for many years now and have recently run into an issue with my enterprise. Said enterprise, MJW International, has lost around $20 trillion in the last two months (real time). My corporations are still making profits, with a $200 billion surplus each game month in the finance rundown. Yet each game month I am losing almost $100 billion from my enterprise cash holdings. One of the main drains on monthly cash seems to be in the 'Cash transfers To and From Corporations' bracket. It appears I'm always paying a substantial amount of money to something, for something, but since the info popup is vague I can never determine where exactly the money is going. (Might be helpful to note here that I am still using the old interface as I prefer it to the newer one.) Since the majority of my corporations are making profits and only one has a current debt (a public corporation) it makes no sense that the game is constantly funneling money to my corporations from my enterprise wallet. I changed my profit transfers to 60% from the 10% level I had it set at, but that made no difference. Has there been a change to the game within the last month that would explain this trend? I haven't made any recent changes which would account for such a massive loss of cash so I could use some feedback from other experienced enterprise owners, or Andy. |
Marcus White | Friday, December 22, 2017 - 02:28 pm Okay so I figured out a few things that were causing issues and identified where the money is going. I had quite a few corporations selling products to my other corps on the local market to cover part of their supply needs. It appears that the corporations buying by contract have far exceeded their usual order quantity. I have mine set to a 10 month low water mark and 15 month order quantity, however most of these corps that were buying supplies by contract on the local market have managed to stockpile up to 120 months worth of the contracted products. I'm not quite sure how that is possible, given that they should only be buying a month worth of supplies by contract each month and using one month of supplies within that same month. Therefore there should be no possibility of those supply quantities rising or falling too much if at all. The problem with the cashflow numbers rests in the fact that monthly profit only factors in Raw Materials Used instead of Raw Materials Bought, therefore a corporation can appear to be making profits while a large amount of its cash is being spent on supplies each month. That is the reason behind the loss of cash within said corporations which leads to automatic cash transfers from the enterprise wallet into the corporations. It would appear that when an enterprise-owned Privately Held Corporation drops below 30 Billion or so in cash it triggers an Automatic Cash Transfer from the enterprise wallet to 'bail out' the 'failing' corporation. These auto transfers are what have been draining my enterprise wallet to the tune of $20 Trillion over the last two months. As of now I have cancelled all my local market contracts in favour of buying supplies on the world market, at a score setback of almost 200 points, knocking me out of the #1 spot for this month. I will keep an eye on the supply levels and see if they start falling back down to the low-water marks and also see how I fare with the automatic transfers. Just wanted to let people know about this issue in case they are having similar problems with cash loss. |
Khome | Friday, December 22, 2017 - 05:41 pm It is a major pain in the ass that has only made me "baby sit" my corps relentlessly. I did just fine with out these "protective" features, and quite frankly, I don't know where all of the funds end up going, even after reclaiming some of them. |
