The grand and ancient federation of The Protectorate, Kebir Blue, would like to declare to the world a most joyous and momentous occasion for Protectorians the world over.
Since the departure of our Chairwoman and founder, The Protectorate has sought to reform it's internal workings, shifting from the concept of an Autocratic Meritocracy as a form of government, in the direction of a Federal Republic.
Reforms including a new charter, establishing The Protectorate's internal political system, and the implementation of a federal senate have finally been completed and fully implemented.

Articles of Federation
Article I: Body Republic
The Body Republic shall comprise all members of The Protectorate. The Senate shall oversee and instruct the Body Republic.
The Body Republic shall elect the Senate every sixty days. Should any seat on the Senate become vacant, the Body Republic shall hold elections to fill the seat.
Article II: Senate
The Senate shall comprise one seat per every two hundred million citizens of The Protectorate federation.
The Senate shall reserve the sole power of ratifying treaties and legislation.
The Senate shall elect a Caretaker every sixty days.
Article III: Caretaker
The Caretaker shall be appointed by majority vote of the Senate, and shall be elected to the position of Federation Chairman.
The Caretaker shall hold power of deciding vote should a tie be encountered by the Senate.
Article IV: Legislation and Treaties
Anyone may submit legislation for discussion. Discussion for legislation must be kept open for a minimum of 72 hours, then submitted to the Senate for a vote. A simple majority in the Senate shall be required to pass the legislation and strike it into law.
Either the Body Republic or the Senate may submit treaties with foreign powers for consideration. Treaties may be put up to vote to the Senate at any time and require a simple majority to ratify. For all treaties, the signatures of all members of the Senate will be given automatically.
Any member of the Body Republic may call a veto session against any new legislation within a week of its passing. After a veto is called, a vote is held by the house to cancel the Body Republic. The legislation is cancelled by a simple majority.
Article V: Impeachment
Any Senator may be impeached by a two-thirds majority vote of the Body Republic.
Article VI: Amendments
This document may be amended via a two-thirds majority vote over a period of 48 hours by both the Body Republic and Senate. If a two-thirds majority is reached in the defined time period, the amendment shall pass. If a two-thirds majority is not reached in the defined time period, the amendment shall fail.
Article VII: Votes
Each Senator receives one vote, with the Caretaker's vote counting double in the event of a tie.
Body Republic votes are based on the number of votes cast, each member counting for a vote of one. Senators may vote in both the Senate and the Body Republic

As per The August Accords, the citizens of The Protectorate duly elected their first Senate, appointed and taking effect as of 26th December 2687 (September 1st 2008).
