If you are a newb or established player you should consider joining the largest federation on Little Upsilon; Valde Subsidium.

The federation consists of four regional branches; Valde Subsidium (The over-fed in which secured countries are kept.) Tempus Fugit North, Tempus Fugit South, and Tempus Fugit Diem.
