don't start investing in the army.
build the economy first.

check the index page and search for indexes that are too low.
ask here what to do about it.

the education priorities page is the most important one.
make sure you do not have shortages in any of the workers groups.

all the corporations you have should reach 100% hiring and 100% production.

The best corporations to build are those producing raw materials, using natural resources.

check the natural resources page and the tab used in building of mining corporations.
these corporations are very profitable and will improve your income.
