ttrunzo.32276 | Tuesday, January 5, 2016 - 08:42 pm How would I conquer a C3 using only ground troops? I think they are cheaper than using air force and the time factor really does not bother me. |
Al Sadius | Tuesday, January 5, 2016 - 10:05 pm I haven't tried it, but my impression is that it works a lot like doing it by air. Get a division with a few MMB and a lot of OAA to hit the defences of a random target until you've massacred all their helicopters, then run a division around to KO all their corps and paint. It saves you needing to use special forces to paint, but the losses may well be higher at lower levels. Zen had a guide a month or two back about getting 25 wars in at WL4 before your war level goes up, and he used land forces for it. Might want to take a look at that to see what he used. |
Khome y Peng | Wednesday, January 6, 2016 - 05:10 pm My basic formula for raiding via ground was like what he said. Midrange missiles combined w offensive antiair. Target any structure like the capital, state corps, city or fort, and hit the defenses first before the actual target. This will eliminate any garrisoned weapons in that structure and the anti air will take out some of the copters, your main threat. Once the garrison defenses are done on one structure repeeat the same defenses attack on another intill all copters are kaput. Then have fun using your mid range missiles and destroy the now helpless forts, corps and cities. And keep painting the map! Good damage points there. That basically means just keep your units moving on the battle field occupying land. If this were a pvp (player against player) the strategy alters and that's a whole other discussion. |
