XON Xyooj | Tuesday, October 1, 2013 - 03:39 am when you're looking at the figures in this game what does 113.26M SC$ per airplane equal to? A. 113,260,000 SC$ B. 113,260 SC$ C. 113,260,000,000 SC$ D. __________________ SC$ thank you for your help |
Michael Wilson | Tuesday, October 1, 2013 - 03:46 am The answer is D. LOL, ah A. Yay, do I get a cookie? |
XON Xyooj | Tuesday, October 1, 2013 - 04:06 am @michael, are you sure? if so then a monthly cost of 1,331.85M SC$ = 1,331,850,000 SC$? which would be less confusion if just be 1.33185B? and a monthly cost of 8,362.36M SC$ = 8,362,360,000? which would be less confusion if just be 8.36236B? these should be properly designated |
Satomi de Gaia | Tuesday, October 1, 2013 - 04:46 am I think the answer is A. On the other hand, if I pick D and it gets me a cookie... |
Michael Wilson | Tuesday, October 1, 2013 - 06:19 am @Satomi de Gaia Haha, very true and opposite. @XON Xyooj Yeah, it is quite right, because you had the M on the end of it which makes Million not B for Billion. Billion is extra 3 zeros. Maths is quite confusing, I hate it lol. |
XON Xyooj | Tuesday, October 1, 2013 - 07:35 am math is confusing in sc because i have not encounter a corp on earth that has expenses of US$2 billions per month i'm trying to get things in perspective when playing sc none of my sc corps has less than 100,000 workers |
Volvo | Tuesday, October 1, 2013 - 07:43 am It depends on the airplane: a scale model can cost $10, but a real Airbus A321-321 can cost a lot of green currency! |
XON Xyooj | Tuesday, October 1, 2013 - 11:31 pm of the less than 300 countries on earth, many of them have annual revenues less than $1B. all countries on earth combined together have revenues less than $22T. my countries on sc has monthly profits over $1B each, so i should be very proud and i should be pretty rich but why am i always struggling to pay off my expenses? and my countries' revenues are growing so slow because most of the times they are going downhill if i don't manually twig the country's variables every day. there needs to be automation, that if i can feed my own country's consumptions then my revenues should be growing up, and if i cannot feed my own country's consumptions then my revenues would be going down. |
XON Xyooj | Tuesday, October 1, 2013 - 11:34 pm and every now and then, this math in sc confuse me because the decimal place is not consistent throughout all my countries and corps |
Josias | Wednesday, October 2, 2013 - 09:24 pm if you compare prices, and GNP for countries on earth, from a thousand years ago, if they had computers, and made a SC game, based on the Y2K era, the current prices, and income would seem, well, inflated. look at the date in your world, and keep in mind, what current inflation could be in 1000 years. And also the fact that in real life, we don't have 5-6 worlds to live on. I mean, if everything has to be realistic, then only 200-300 countries should be on one planet. don't take things 2 literally. its a game |
XON Xyooj | Thursday, October 3, 2013 - 12:02 am @josias, in this game, i think there is 5 worlds because they want the space aspect to fly and provide competitive advantage to players. i think most players still have to learn how to manage their countries/corps better in one world before being in many worlds. beside, all space stations are gm owned not players' owned? why not let players develop their own space stations when they have the capabilities? yes, this is a game. just difficult to think in reverse of what i'm used to on earth |
Josias | Thursday, October 3, 2013 - 12:29 am they've promised us the ability to build our own space stations. space stations, space fighters, space raiding, blockades, space exploration, and even mining. all these things are in development the first leg of this is still being completed, in mobile units which includes auto-response units that use professional soldiers, and can be transported via shuttles across planets. although, there are 2 magor problems with space. With GC being the only currency, especially after the removal of the GC market, their just isn't enough flow of resources through space stations to brag about the feature. further, the second main problem. a player can move untold amounts of military assets across space. while it is an advantage to have a minimal fighting force, that can be effective on multiple planets. it offers a very lop sided advantage, until the addition of space fighters, and a means to defend against 100s of T of military assets being dropped, reversing what would have other wise been a route. in regards to the second point. i know this to be true. i once was attacked, while having very little military in a couple of cash cows, my enemy had the 1 and 2 war rank countries baring down on me. in my 48 hours, i moved enough assets to take over the 1 and 2 spots, so that this dude went from what would have been an easy victory, to back peddling out of the fight. honestly, i think the ability to do such a thing should be their, but i also think the other guy shoulda had a chance, with space fighters, to stop me. |
Josias | Thursday, October 3, 2013 - 12:38 am we often times wait, a long time for promised features. years in fact. its a disgrace. we were promised "country resources," that is, not every country in the world has oil reserves just waiting to be tapped. but in sim country, you can build as many as you want, where ever you want. W3C has promised to add country resources, allowing monopolies, and "partial victories." the idea behind "partial victories," is that W3C, believes that countries should not be easily defeated. how ever, to offer a reward, while making countries undefeatable, they want to allow countries to be able to sieze portions of defending country, I.E. the portions of the map that you "paint," you'd be able to own after the war. while the citizens and corps would still pay taxes to the original owner, the winner would be able to build and gain rare resources, even though they did not totally defeat the country. this concept, is much more inline with modern wars. rarely, any more, are countries conquered and annexed, more like portions of territory, and resources are given to the winner. additionally. players would be given the ability to buy/sell territory inside of their own countries, rather than making war the only way to gain resources. i've always felt this was a small carrot, on a long stick, but its still a cool idea. that we've waited for, a couple years now. |
Josias | Thursday, October 3, 2013 - 02:49 am what i meant from small carrot, is the increased ability to repel invasions. multiplying the cost of invasion compared to the size of the defense. With talk, of the ability to multiply the size of the defense, at a fraction of the effort. and their was also talk of allowing full on counter invasion, at the defenders convenience, anytime in the 48 hours waiting period. offering partial victories was a small carrot, on a long stick. so to declare war on one of your peers, would require you to have probably double their military assets, and allow them the ability to multiply the size of their defense, and to make the war active at any time. while allowing the best you can hope for, was gaining an ability you already had! However, the game has changed allot sense then. the idea itself, is cool. |
lenpeat | Thursday, October 3, 2013 - 02:53 am Computer addition can be a problem, my Corporation ComPeat for your Military Business, saw these men try allure School Girl in with a Cookie. not us, we work in Simplified Contracts. see us at the Security council on White Giant, |
Michael Wilson | Thursday, October 3, 2013 - 06:57 am Your a sick c**t Lenpeat. |
Josias | Thursday, October 3, 2013 - 07:18 am Xon, one last thing to mention. space, is still new. And i was Orbiter, before space. lol |
Michael Wilson | Thursday, October 3, 2013 - 09:19 am Lenpeat is pedophile molester, he needs to be removed. |
XON Xyooj | Saturday, October 5, 2013 - 10:26 am @josias, space products are needed in order to go between the worlds. orbiter only orbiting the worlds, not landing or launching from these worlds |
