Arccuk | Sunday, March 10, 2013 - 09:04 am at the moment .. very little unless you have GC's to spend The space program is intended to transport products around your empire(s) quickly without country spending restrictions. If you own an empire on another world, shuttles can transport these products to take advantage of sale prices and make profit. There are also many products that cannot be purchased on the open market. Space stations are provided where these products can be traded for GC's |
Arccuk | Sunday, March 10, 2013 - 09:58 am yep! Transporting products through space can earn you lots of SC$ but cost lots of GC's. |
Arccuk | Sunday, March 10, 2013 - 11:23 am I don't think that's possible. A player can only transport their own products AFAIK. |
Crafty | Sunday, March 10, 2013 - 02:01 pm I imagine stuff got deleted here Arccuk. You do sell your stuff for GC on space stations. The only problem with that as I see it is that the cost of having docks in space (paid in GC) is prohibitive, therefore not much trading goes on there. If space could be made easier to access, particularly for new players for whom it is very expensive in GC terms, then we should see a lot more happening there. That said, if people are having difficulty gaining GC then they are unlikely to spend them on products that they can buy with cash, excepting the few limited items that are space only products. |
Andy | Sunday, March 10, 2013 - 02:34 pm This is a misunderstanding of the situation. new players have gold coins and they get them very easily as we speak. Space trading will increase tremndously in the future. The fact that you don't want to use it, is not saying anything about what others will do. |
Crafty | Sunday, March 10, 2013 - 02:45 pm Andy, why so bitter? I do own a space dock as it happens, I dont use it much, if at all, because it's in the nuclear industry station, and there is little demand as people use direct sales on their planets. I also use inter country/CEO space frequently. It is not a fact that I dont want to use it, in fact I would love to utilise it, there is just no demand. |
Arccuk | Sunday, March 10, 2013 - 04:31 pm I have no idea why the questions have been deleted. Very odd. I own 3 docks that I had hoped would be better utilised so far. Could you tell us what the plans are to make this happen Andy? |
darcus | Saturday, March 16, 2013 - 10:01 am Yea Space docks cost to much i have a gold but i don't want to pay 200 GC for space docks (and i will probably never buy one for this price) for that i can get a nice country. And on other hand if people pay you 36$ and in return they get 360 GC they can buy only 1 dock for that. My suggestion is that docks cost 100-120 GC so for 36$ people could get 3 docks, maybe they will pay you more money and also for cheaper docks we get more activity in space. |
zzz | Friday, March 22, 2013 - 01:16 am well, my account being just under 2 weeks old, i don't see me reasonably affording a dock, with in a year. how am i supposed to have GC for pop, (for game levels,) for a CEO, (for game levels,) then what use is a space progam, if i can't really afford a dock, and i can't afford a second world. and most the GC that players have is going to become scarce. the point of removing the GC exchange, was to make GC more scarce, making it harder for players to play on multi-worlds, and actually have a use for space... if their are new space features coming out, that we haven't heard about, it'd probably be a good idea to let us know. because as it is, w/o the GC exchange, short of swiping your card, space is not a realistic game feature. It cost to much, with a lessening degree of value and return. |
maclean | Friday, March 22, 2013 - 03:01 pm Agreed. I have space centers in my countries and enterprises, and i use them for interworld trade betwixt mine own empires, but there is no real market for "space goods" as such, and with gc getting even scarcer I am not about to sink two or three hundred of em into a spacedock which will get me no return. Besides, as soon as enough of us buy spacedocks, they'll probably put a new maintenence fee on em, ("update")making them even more useless. |
zzz | Friday, March 22, 2013 - 06:51 pm thats been the theme maclean, once people start making money at something, they tweak it. |
Wolfgang | Sunday, July 19, 2015 - 09:28 pm Ok I came into this forum looking for info regarding starting a space program. Instead all you guys talked me out of it LOL. I was hoping to get into the space program to make a gold coin profit, but it doesn't seem like the game has developed far enough for that. I can make $SC without space flight, so I don't see a point in spending GC to make more $SC. Has there been any updates to this, since these posts are a bit dated? |
Johanas Bilderberg | Wednesday, July 22, 2015 - 12:30 pm All it requires is a little imagination to see the possibilities. |
Wolfgang | Wednesday, August 19, 2015 - 04:24 am Well, my imagination says to get into the dancing Twi'lek slave trade, but that doesn't mean the game is set up for it... |

So how did that work out for you then Andy ? But then, I don't expect you to acknowledge it.... |
Orbiter | Friday, August 28, 2015 - 01:59 pm yes, wolfgang, theirs been a player update, since i posted that, i've earned enough GC from space trade to buy over 40 docks, thats over 8000 GC, if you include my professional soldiers stocked, registration for a couple of CEOs, and several hundred pop, i'd say, i've made well over 10K GC but it wasn't anything the GM did, space has been about the same for 5 years, the change has come in how players approach space. you have to sell goods at 1/3 the GC converstion, to make it worth it for buyers to pay. that is, for one GC, you'll need to offer about 100B value, or better. plus, most of the demand is in military weapons, on the Crucis, Cervus, and Carina stations. if the game was more popular, i can for see non-military goods with demand. i've already sold maybe a couple hundred GC worth of FMUs, and AMUs. and made maybe a couple dozen sales of gasoline, and aircraft fuel, at 0.07 for 10M tons og gasline, you can't really boast, but it does prove that these products would go, if more people where playing you have to ask, why would a person spend GC to buy a shuttle, GC to rent a dock, to buy something at a price equal to what they'd get if they just converted the GC to cash, and bought it themselves? so to make it worth it, you have to way undercut the price. |
Wolfgang | Tuesday, September 15, 2015 - 03:50 am Thanks Orbiter. That's the best info I have received yet. |
jdlech | Friday, January 1, 2016 - 04:02 pm While that might make it worth a shuttle or two to buy stuff at a space station, what incentive does anyone have to sell stuff there? Seems to be a losing proposition. |
