kingofc | Monday, November 19, 2012 - 05:53 am Are CEOs corps bad for my country if... ♦I don't own them ♦my countries infrastructure is very high ♦most indexes are very high recently I have been inviting CEOs to my country, now I am starting to wonder if its a wise choice or not... What do you guys think? |
Crafty | Monday, November 19, 2012 - 03:54 pm $6,000,000 question. They have pluses, like they pay nice country resources (if they are profitable) but you can make the same money if not more with state corps especially if you have good indexes like you say. They'll let you reform disabled and housewives, not hugely significant, but maybe a couple of corps worth of extra workers. Generally they will upgrade effectivity and so use less workers, have a higher payroll and so pay more income tax. BUT, you can log on and find several gone in one month. Very annoying. They will generally try to pay as little as possible and this can lead to headaches with your worker distribution as the corps go below 100% hiring. And there are CEOs out there who will set hiring/production to well below 100% to try to ride out market slumps, or ones who let supplies run out or just dont know how to run ent corps. Contrary to popular belief, private corps do not always pay CRU regardless of profit, if they are making a loss for a few months they will pay you diddly-squat so are just wasting your workers. IMO that is the trouble with CEO corps - you dont have control of them. So try to be a bit selective, dont accept stupid corps (nukes, space etc) and make 'em pay a competetive salary. Of course, private corps are safe in war (ish) where as state are targets, extra targets to defend maybe... Best solution? Get your own enterprise and build your own private corps in your own countries |
sbroccoli | Monday, November 19, 2012 - 05:08 pm If you don't like the CEOs in your country or don't want them anymore, just raise taxes. Then they leave. Or go out of business ;) |
kingofc | Tuesday, November 20, 2012 - 12:38 am Sadly, before I realized this, I invited many top CEOs to my country. Thinking some how magically that will increase my population with immigration, I guess I was wrong. And my Indexes, I plan to raise them to 300 or so if it goes that high. Right now they are at... Transportation 237.71 Education 203.04 Health 140.98 Well, thanks for your input guys, I really appreciate it. I wish this forum had a "rep system" where by I could give you "rep" or something. I am sure crafty would be #1 if there was such a system. |
sbroccoli | Tuesday, November 20, 2012 - 11:57 am Nice. Beats me how you can afford such high index values? You must have spent a fortune on schools and roads etc.? I know I can't afford that. |
kingofc | Wednesday, November 21, 2012 - 07:43 pm I did, and I am stilling doing it. If only I could get 4 of my corps that for some reason never hire at all, I don't want to shut them down. 2 Electric Components and 2 Medical Equipment corps that are stuck at 10% hiring, even though I bought 2 million people. |
Crafty | Wednesday, November 21, 2012 - 10:45 pm Hmm, thanks for the compliment. It would help if you said your country name and world to see if we can figure out why those corps arent hiring. And honestly I dont think you are going to see much benefit, if any, from raising your transport and education indexes. If you go too high on ED, you will find you have all chiefs but no indians. Transport wont contribute to your corps welfare any higher than it is, so you'll just be spending maintenance money unnecessarily. Health, yep, I reckon you will need to increase that as your population increases. Again, too much health will make your pop live longer and you'll have social security bills for all those excess pensioners. So dont over cook it. |
sbroccoli | Thursday, November 22, 2012 - 12:05 am So you're saying that any index over 200 is kind of wasted? |
kingofc | Thursday, November 22, 2012 - 07:51 am My country's name is No Tax. And crafty where do you get such nice drawings that you have as your pictures like the one with the shoe. For some reason all my friends here when I look at their avatars it gives me a different feeling of how they must be like. For example, for crafty, I feel like someone who is really helpful and smart always has his eye somewhere observing and trying to give advice while at it. Someone who can be authoritative and a close friend too willing to help. For broccoli, someone who is loyal and if he was your ally would really take care of you, and his picture is of Aristotle so it gives that ancient and again loyal feeling to me. You guys are amazing and its great to always talk to you just wanted to share how i feel. |
Teddy Bear | Thursday, November 22, 2012 - 02:16 pm lol, in that case id love to know what my avatar projects |
Crafty | Thursday, November 22, 2012 - 06:11 pm I dont know for the super large 300M population countries sbroccoli, but for under 100M I would say so, yes. I'm going by the influence of the other indexes on the overall welfare index, and the problems caused by over cooking education or health. |
