can some of you military experts explain to me the differences between these?
does one cost less than the other?
so in a war, can you switch between the offensive force and defensive force...like in american football?
it just seem a funny idea to put this in the game as it does not represent reality. in reality, when you go to war you do both offensive and defensive tactics to stay alive/win in the war...whether the war comes to your country or you go to another country to create a war.
to me, a military soldier is in the military force. do they only teach a defensive soldier to load a weapon and an offensive soldier to only shoot a weapon?
if not, then a military force doesn't need to be divided between offensive or defensive. it ain't like american football, that you have all the bigger guys be in your defensive so the other teams will have a hard time to get thru to your goal posts end. then when your team has the ball then you put the lighter/skinny guys in your offensive teams so they can run faster or outspeed the other bigger defensive guys. and it ain't like it's your time to shoot me (offense) so i defense my side, then the next time around it's my turn to shoot your side (i'm offense) so you gotta defense your side.
it's just bit ridicuolus this way.....beginning to have images of the blue and the grey during the american civil war....is modern warfare in simcountry supposed to model after these? |

Your making this a bit more complicated than it is Xyooj.
Look at it this way.
You send an offensive bomber to bomb a target.
You send a defensive interceptor fighter to shoot down the bomber.
An incoming offensive missile is knocked down by a defensive missile.
In each case, if you switched missions with the weapons, there would be no effect.
Now you've got me on the infantry rifleman. However there is an old rule of thumb...
The guy that shoots first is on the offense.
The guy that shoots second is on the defense.  |

Yep, lots of them. Think about it...
Ground crew, different sets of pilots(they are on 24hr alert), training, all sorts. I would guess a real fighter probably has 100 staff connected to it.
It also has fuel trucks to supply it, needs military supplies of all sorts and so on.
So yet again one of your annoying stupid question/complaints is answered by someone else. Why not trying using your own brain for once? then you can discover the joy of having discovered something for yourself, YAY!!! |
