War on TA

There are some problems with waging war on TA.
We had a few wars before and no problems reported.
It seems that there are problems with maps and types of objects that make
wars difficult to impossible.
we are looking into it now and will fix it ASAP.

Please delay your war plans on TA until the problems are resolved.

Natural Resources

More natural resources were discovered on TA.
mainly Silver, Targon, Metadium and Baradium are available in all countries in larger numbers.

Silver is becoming very important as a component in the production of electric car batteries and in future Power Domes that will be used to store electric power in large quantities.

Upgrading Tint Atlas

From the start, TA was very limited in terms of population numbers and in the way products were delivered from other worlds.
It was not intended for wars but there was no limitation on the war game and it should be an option.

Another limitation was the absence of a functioning market.
With a very small number of countries and a small number of players, markets cannot function correctly as on the other worlds.

We intend to start moving TA to full functionality.
It will be done in several steps.
Population numbers are now larger in all countries and we will allow them to increase further.

Other limitations will be gradually lifted.

Cargo transports to TA are in the process of becoming easier and faster.

TA already has many natural resources and will be the source for a growing number of resources that are used in many products on all worlds.

Already now, Targon and Metadium are being produced and transported to all worlds and are used in the defense industry but also in the electric car industry.

Baradium is used in electric trucks that will be used in large supply units but also in additional products.

Several new products will be added that will use natural materials that are produced on TA.

As playing TA becomes easier, we expect more players there.

TA is very small (677 countries) and very rich in natural resources.
More will be discovered.

Andy,

I hope your plan works...

So far, on LU (I haven't studied the data on other worlds) the global electric car market has never functioned. I placed a buy order for Electric Cars roughly one real life month ago, none have been delivered.

Silver is so scarce, that Corporations can't buy it on the global market. Making Corporations that use Silver non-functioning, unless the player has access to their own Silver mines and sets up contracts to self-supply.

Supply of Electric Car Motors is patchy, with them only available when a player places a single large sell order. Which discourages players from building Electric Car Corporations, because they don't know if they'll be able to buy Electric Car Motors.

In short, anything that requires import of materials from Tiny Atlas has resulted in a broken market.

True.

by far, not enough natural resources are coming from TA to the other worlds.

Some materials are coming. the numbers we hope, will increase.
Shortages of electric cars are growing.

The market for these electric cars and related products will probably remain broken for some time.

Andy,

On LU, someone has placed 3 buy orders over several in game months for a total of roughly 4 Billion Electric Cars Motors.

No Electric Car Corporation that buys Electric Car Motors on the Market will be able to produce for a very long time.

This will make the shortages significantly worse.

Because of the tiny supply, even a single player's manual buy orders can completely break the market. Player action can't fix this.

The current way to do this is to avoid the markets as there is and will be a lot of demand.
you can however, produce these products and deliver to your own country.

if you want to avoid the trouble altogether, accept the electric car shortage for some time.

we will look at the number of corporations producing the electric car industry products and the quantities of the rare metals coming in.

there are more than 260 corporations on WG producing more than 4 million electric cars each game month.

less than full capacity and obviously limited by the supply of rare metals.

production will increase but will keep looking into it.

we would like to refrain from an intervention.
the potential is no more than 2 points to the supply index.

More corporations are producing electric cars, electric cars batteries and electric car motors.

Although the numbers are growing, it is insufficient.

players can do a lot about it, and make a lot of money in the process.

The electric car industry is very profitable and will become even more so.
we expect it to continue for quite some time.
The percentage of electric cars compared to non electric cars is currently very small.

I'll begin building the necessary corps in KB and check profitability.

I have a fully upgraded Electric car corp, Elec car motors corp, and Elec car batteries corp.

Andy's definition of very profitable is what I'd call "buildable just for diversity".

The ecar corp is okay, but my initial look suggests the other two component corps, are money losers. So that takes some shine off of the whole deal.

I can wash it through the spread sheet and see what we could expect. Be a bit though.

For Ecars corps, fully upgraded, state corps:

Optimum salary is 30, with serious performance impacts starting at ~300
Optimum supplies is Q220 I produced the grid based on a salary index of 100.

The expected profit by country welfare index for salary 100. State corp producing 270Q products. I can't project CEO/public corps unless I have an exemplar to collect the salary costs from. But I believe a fully public corp would make about double what you see below.

Thanks for the info you collected.

I will look at all the electric car related product and their profitability.
and take your comments into account.

the next upgrade will take place coming Tuesday or Wednesday.
if any tuning takes place, it will show up in the game news.

Having a look, it does seem Electric Cars Motors have a very poor performance. Given this, I'm somewhat reluctant to build these corps.

I'd hope since Motors are the link in the supply chain that need the exclusive resource from TA, Metadium, they would be a top tier profit corp.

The easiest way of addressing this would be by keeping supply quantities and prices unchanged, and increase production capacity. It would make the company more profitable and address the supply constraints more easily.

Doing some quick calcs, if the production capacity of Electric Cars Motors were increased by 1.5 (50%), all else equal, it's profitability would be in the same league as mining.

We can even argue it should be even more profitable than Mining, to incentivize players to set-up Tiny Atlas supply chains.

Seeing as the supply chain is a natural/market constraint, this means that players can't just spam build the same Electric Cars Motors over and over.

I believe this would be a step in the right direction.

Okay car motors. One problem is that metadium from TA is low quality, mine is Q120. So even if everything else is it buys is Q220, it still produces at Q182.

Even if you had Q220 metadium the corp will lose money making Q269, because the cost of materials increase due to the increase quality of supplies outpaces the profit from selling higher quality.

The current optimum seems to be lowering the salaries to 30 and buying Q120. That looks like this.

Electric car batteries are typical mediocre performers. Optimum salary 30 -130 Q220 supplies. looks like this at salary of 100.
