Andy | Friday, September 20, 2024 - 06:06 pm Faster Space Transports - not for weapons and ammunitions Cargo shuttles can now transport more products than before. Their capacity remained unchanged but the space needed for many industrial products, food and natural resources is reduced and more products can now be moved with a cargo shuttle than before. This change does not apply to weapons and ammunitions. For these products, more space is now needed on cargo shuttles. The previous numbers were not realistic and allowed for huge transports of weapons to take place on very few cargo shuttles. Reductions in the Base Price of Weapons and Ammunitions The base price of many weapons and ammunitions is reduced again. The change is part of the continuing effort to make the building of an army more affordable. Most of the corporations that are producing these products are now producing a bit more each month and as a result, the corporations remain as profitable as before (assuming unchanged market situation). More reductions in the maintenance cost of Wind farms The cost of maintenance of wind farms is declining. The change follows similar changes in previous upgrades and is achieved mainly by a reduction in the base price of wind turbines. Also in this case, the corporations that are producing wind turbines remain very profitable. Increased Production Levels in Many Corporations Some types of corporations are now producing a bit more each month. The shortages on the markets remain huge and such incremental, small changes, are helping in the reduction in the shortages. Maintenance Products and their Profitability The reduction in the cost of many weapons, maintenance corporations that are using these products will see their cost of materials reduced a bit. The price of these maintenance products was also reduced a bit to make these huge corporations just a bit smaller. The result is an improved stability (very large corporations are less stable), and also improved profitability. |
Breosausa | Friday, September 20, 2024 - 10:52 pm Why did the criteria for game level suddenly change again? This is the second time at least in the last month that the level requirements changed. The cash required just jumped for Game Level 6 pushing me back down to level 5. |
Laguna | Saturday, September 21, 2024 - 12:03 am Hi, I noticed the annual production of strategic airport and bases was increased to 14. However, the Maximum Production Capacity Per Month still shows it is 1. Is it actually 14/12 per month, but it is only showing the nearest integer? |
hymy1 | Saturday, September 21, 2024 - 12:40 am It rounds to the nearest integer, meaning it requires some skill to figure the real number, especially give that the annual number is also to the nearest integer. Eg last I checked production plant corps produce 9.6 a year, but say 10. |
Laguna | Saturday, September 21, 2024 - 01:03 am Very interesting. I checked and Production Plants have been increased to 12/year now. Using the new and improved corporation documentation, I searched for such an example and found Precision Bombers. Documentation states production for Precision Bombers is 2.1/month, so 25.2/year. The building corporation screen says 25. Checks out then. Thanks, hymy. |
hymy1 | Saturday, September 21, 2024 - 07:06 pm The production plants were changed very recently apparently. The GM even made an effort to re-balance the supplies usage. Supplies are still unbalanced though, but at least now the optimum quality is back to 220 instead of 120. The optimum salary is still 30 like most everything else. |
hymy1 | Sunday, September 22, 2024 - 08:22 pm I should explain what I mean by out of balance. Since the beginning of the game, 100 means normal. Increase an index and it should be better, and then worse if you go to high. Decrease it and it should get worse and then awful. So corporations should make money at 100, more money at 200, less money at 300, and no money at 30. (salary indexes, just illustrative and arbitrary). That's just the logical thing for it. Currently, every corp I've examined makes the most profit at at a salary level of 30. That's what I mean by out of balance. |
Andy | Thursday, September 26, 2024 - 05:35 pm Thanks for pushing me on the rounding of numbers. we just recently improved the corporations doc and improved precision. I realize that we should have another look at the numbers showing on the corporation pages. We will resolve the problem. Thanks for finding problems and especially some that are easy to resolve. Breosausa, you are right but we have said, several times, in previous game news reports, that we have to gradually update the requirements for game levels. The reason is, that while population numbers in the past were limited to 60 millions, later around 100 millions, they now can reach 600 millions. The same happened to some other parameters. We have also said, many times, that the output of some corporations is increasing. There are huge shortages on the markets. Many countries have the capacity to create more corporations and they do not do so. Shortages are OK to a limit. At some point shortages can cause a major crash as corporations stop producing if materials are not available, and if they stop, then there are even smaller numbers of products available and the entire economy can crash. we have built in means to prevent a crash but these require interventions which we do not want to happen. So slowly, but incrementally, we increase production of corporations and we have managed to reduce the disastrous shortages. |
