So I got my freebee first war and second country.

Now, before I declare a real war, what are your minimum recommended units and what are your strategy recommendations for taking my second AI country?

There really isn't a ton of difference between the capabilities of the opposing C3 in the first and second war. They do have an additional interceptor wing as well as a helicopter wing as the main differences. Honestly more so than going in with a blueprint layout of what units can most easily win you the next war, I would look at it as an opportunity to learn the war engine better in a relatively relaxed setting. As you climb war levels the challenge will become greater and greater, and once you hit war level 3 other players come into play potentially, so it's important to try to have a decent grasp of the finer mechanics before you get to that point rather than just having an optimum setup to win the next conflict.

I might recommend actually saving up a little and building up your newly acquired country. When you feel that both it and your main country are financially ready, build a variety of a few unit types before your next C3 war. Declare it on a country that doesn't border yours and get familiar with building depots and establishing a beachhead moving in your ground units without a common border.

Practice using the system's mechanics to control the automatic response of defending units to see how you can better control the overall engagement as the attacker, you can gain a significant edge over a defender by choosing targets wisely and customizing your units with specific goals in mind for each making use of their specific advantages and disadvantages. Well thought out divisions that choose their attack targets wisely can decimate a defending C3 air force with minimal losses, but it's a process best learned by doing.

In my opinion that is much much more important than getting a cookie cutter list of recommended units to defeat a specific army, because honestly what you need changes immensely based on your grasp of the system. Many, especially inexperienced players, pound away with air force with brute strength which is certainly possible, but learning the ins and outs of the mechanics will allow you to do much more with much less.
