Electric Power

Electric power corporations are now producing about 5% more power and at a slightly lower price.
Electric power, produced by wind farms is sold for a slightly higher price when delivered to the countries.

Health Cost reduction

The cost of health is down a bit after a further reduction in the amount of electric power used by hospitals.
This is the third reduction in the amount of power after comments by players who correctly commented on the high cost of electric power used in the health system.

High Level Workers

Shortages in the numbers of high level workers are declining a bit more.
The change is slow but continuous and will increase the portion of high level workers in the numbers of new workers joining the labor market.

Balancing the Markets

No further actions were taken in this upgrade but the balancing measures taken in the past game upgrades are continuing to kick in and shortages on the markets become a bit smaller.

Maintenance of Wind Turbines

We have called for players to reduce shortages of wind turbines to prevent a reduction in their output due to lack of maintenance.
we are delaying this function again to allow for more time to reduce such shortages. we now plan to introduce this function before the end of July.

Andy,

"Electric power, produced by wind farms is sold for a slightly higher price when delivered to the countries."
I'm not sure what this line means? Could you elaborate? I didn't think wind farms 'sold' their power to countries, because the country owns the wind farm, no money would change hands. I'm guessing this change only increases the amount of revenue from wind farms recorded on the Profit & Loss finance screen, without changing actual cash flows?

Thank you for the update, and the information about it. These changes seem good and well balanced. Well done.

I too am not entirely sure what he meant by the line that you referenced, but the wind farm reported income on the profit & loss statement is still wrong as has been reported for many months. Math and information continues to be given to Andy and his responses, when he responds, is 'we know how it works and it's right' without any further elaboration or attempts to say why the numbers don't add up. Here's the current reports just for the sake of being told I'm trying to whine and drastically change wind farm payments again. Hint: I'm not trying to change payments, I'm trying to have finance index report what's actually earned so it stops incorrectly driving down index scores and limiting game levels.

Test country:
2700 Wind Farms
1250 Electric Power per WF -> 3,375,000 EP generated
347,300 EP Market Price -> 1,172,137.5M without quality
WFs generate EP @ 135Q -> 1,582,385.625M quality adjusted value
FI reported WF income -> 1,261,716.75M

I've asked many times for sense to be made of it, and the response when a response is received is either something completely off topic from what's being asked or a 'we know what it is' and that's the end of it. Frustrating to say the least.

The wind farm delivers the power to the country.
the amount the country earns because of it, is slightly increased and will increase more as we are making corrections to take the current market price into account.

So Wind Farms don't actually make money for the country?
They just make EP, deliver to the country and report the value of that shipment.
Am I right?

To answer the above question. Go through your cash log and look at your financial statement. You'll note that you actually do get the "income from wind power" in the cash log.

But you also get the electric power, which you can sell for more money. You'll also note that the population also pays you for electricity.

Then there is the cost of wind farms as well as wind turbine price.

I've been assuming the profit is (Profit from wind farms + value of produced EP)-(Cost of windfarms + price of wind 1 turbine.) for Q120 EP

If I knew for sure all the details, I would do an analysis of the power profit scenarios.

But from just guesswork I believe it works out like this.

I suspect that for selling EP, Nuclear would be most profitable. (EG produce nuclear power, contract to a country, sell whatever excess). This schema is similar to wind farms given that you have to produce your own turbines.

On the other hand, wind power is the cheapest to make, but not as profitable to sell because of the quality issue and the fact that production from a wind farm is much lower than other sources. So its good to use it for your citizens use. On the surface it's almost free power for your populace. All the ugly truths about it are buried in the wind turbine corps.

So in the end I, suspect that wind farms are not worth the trouble. Because you could just build nuclear and pay for your citizens use from the profit of selling the excess.

But really, in the end there are many ways to make money, so you could just buy your EP and save your self the splitting headache.

The value of EP that is delivered to the country is shown on the financial page as income from wind farms.

the EP can be used in the country to cut cost, or sold to corporations for cash or it can be sold on the market for cash.

In all these variations, it is income for the country.

In the process, It also influences the financial index, as it indeed should.

The value of the EP depends both on quality and on the market price of EP.
several other parameters are involved and set to adapt gradually.

I have said before that we will make some changes that will keep profits in place and will gradually become more transparent to players.

Wind farms remain a very profitable function to countries and can help in creating income.

very large numbers, as we said already many times, are very risky as the price of EP can decline and income will plunge and in addition, when there are so many wind farms, they employ many workers that are involved in the maintenance of these wind farms.
