Andy | Wednesday, January 12, 2022 - 06:08 pm we have started to improve start conditions for new players. the first change, already in place for 2 days, is in population numbers. Population numbers in countries that do not have a president are increasing faster and higher and are aimed at reaching at least 20 million. These countries are then used by new players. starting with the next upgrade, countries that are reset after being abandoned, will have a minimum population of 20 millions. We will, in the coming day or two, increase the numbers of population new players get when they login up to twice a day. This feature can increase the population very quickly, in the initial days, by at least 5 millions. Also the amounts of cash, given to new players when the login, will increase substantially. Other improvements are underway. we are looking at the quality of military units, the numbers of schools and universities, hospitals, roads and railways. This will result in much higher start values for the major indexes. |
Lord Mndz | Wednesday, January 12, 2022 - 09:34 pm looks very good. one more idea on this, - have you considered making new players start not in a random places but close to each other. that could form clusters of new players and would maybe increase collaboration between them. i think it would be much better than starting in some random places. each cluster could have 5-8 players in the neighborhood. |
Jiggle Billy | Thursday, January 13, 2022 - 12:10 am I think that is a great idea Lord Mndz. The worlds have many barely populated regions to do this with. |
Andy | Thursday, January 13, 2022 - 10:24 am Good idea but complicated. We have an idea here to let new players visually choose the world they want to join, zoom into more details and let them select a country. In that scenario, maybe show them where new players are located. Some might join because a friend told them about it and they want to be close to their friend. At the end, we think the new player should decide. As it is now, the new player does not decide. |
Lord Mndz | Thursday, January 13, 2022 - 10:32 am players could be given options, if they want game to decide where to place them, explore and decide or look for someone they know. then at least for the ones who dont know w3c could help. |
Andy | Friday, January 14, 2022 - 08:41 am well we do not know. currently, we place new players in a way that ensures there are C3 countries next to it. In this way, a new president can use the tutorial to conquer a country. other than that, the process is randomized and the choice of the world depends on the occupancy of the 4 worlds or a choice for FB. I think we should allow the new player to zoom in and choose, with or without prior information. there is always the possibility to change by canceling and reserving a different country, it is without damage if done in the first days and of course, we are looking at the possibility to move countries. |
Lord Mndz | Friday, January 14, 2022 - 09:48 am yes, still the most important is to guide new players in the way you want as w3c. e.g. i would register them close and send them messages about new neighbours when they register, you offer them to establish federations and would create much more initial interaction. as majority just register and leave very soon, how new players are onboarded in the first minutes are crucial. if they get some notifications or messages from other players very soon, that would engage them and they would spend more time, more of them would not quit in first days. |
Andy | Wednesday, January 19, 2022 - 06:25 pm Messages from others is indeed a great to engage new players. We will think of ways to make that happen. great idea. |
Lord Mndz | Wednesday, January 19, 2022 - 09:00 pm good to hear |
