The Mentalist | Thursday, May 27, 2021 - 09:24 am Hello: Seeing another person as a inferior, is more a problem from the psyque and the soul. In general, the person who pretend to be superior to others have a terrible inferiority feeling (hidden, of course); and this condition has a clinical name: narcissistic personality disorder, in the worst case with traces of Antisocial personality disorder (known as psycopaths). When I have the bad luck to find a person like this, and this being tries to show me his or her cheap circus, I just say to this moral dwarf: " You make pee and poop like me, you will die someday like me, so in what you are superior?" If you want to know more about this kind of "persons" I highly reccomend the book "Without conscious: The disturbing world of the psychopaths among us" written by the Canadian Psychiatrist Robert Hare. Best regards! |
rob72966 | Saturday, May 29, 2021 - 04:54 am This is a tough topic, I will only speak for myself. I believe everyone has a degree of racism, hate, anger. We do not need to teach people to lie it comes naturally... As a Christian we believe that were all born with a sin nature. That through Christ we can be forgiven for are sins, but the sin nature cannot be removed. When you feel a hatred or resentment based on someone's ethnicities or put simply there race, this person has what I call a dark heart. The only answer for this person is Jesus Christ. I truly hope that I have not offended anyone, but I do believe in God and that this questioned needed to be addressed. After all I'm only human. So forgive me. Rob |
Matthew I | Sunday, May 30, 2021 - 05:12 am I live in the United States. The Southern, United States. So the topic of race and how we view it is not exactly a foreign one. With the BLM movement, the counter BLM movement and all that is on the news I think how it is -seen- is fairly apparent on both sides. I believe, and will continue to believe, that in this country we have systemic inequality running among socioeconomic and ethnic lines. I grew up in a Southern, Conservative family and was no stranger to racism growing up. Even now it is blatant. I try my hardest to take people at face value regardless of ethnicity and race. I have to agree with @The Mentalist. I think if you believe yourself superior due to geography, ethnicity or class you have got a major case of smooth-brain and should do some soul-searching. |
Lioncoeur | Sunday, May 30, 2021 - 05:32 pm I grew up in a American / Eastern European family so I see thru the lenses of it's a American problem I seen racism from my father to other eastern European people for not being Russian and seen and had racism from the pols, Czechs / others for being part Russian, also open racism from Hispanics for being white in a 90% Hispanic work force. I also see the racism from my Japanese Gf towards other Asians and seen how the South Americans hate the Mexicans and so on. every group has its outliers. |
Robert | Saturday, June 5, 2021 - 05:43 pm I live in the US and have also lived in Germany. I see this not as a "White" issue, but rather as a human issue. I agree with rob72966 that this is across all cultures and (as a White Male) I have been on the receiving end of racism from other cultures several times. Once at BWI- the Airport in Baltimore Maryland, where a non-caucasian woman refused to ring up my purchase because of my appearance (large framed/shouldered, white, shaved head and GoTee). It literally took me asking for a manager to have my purchase rung up. In the end, however, I will never empower someone like that to affect my psyche or zest for life- because I know she is not reflective of others in her culture. I personally am convinced this is a more politically motivated topic than a socially motivated topic. Racism is in every culture, toward all other cultures and will never be 100% eliminated. It's like the Flu- there will always be a strain. Learn to rise above it and take heart that 99.9% of all other members of ALL cultures will come to stand against the oppressors if anyone ever pushed the issue. This is 2021.... I am personally stunned that people allow this topic to not die. Again, I am 100% convinced that it is a political effort to try and create a divide and distraction- an effort to say "Join us, or YOU are Racist!" It's just BS.... My 10 cents worth... |
